probably should have seen it coming I guess but it's pretty fucking annoying everyone saw a conversation about "people don't understand how difficult it is clothes shopping as a trans woman" and proceeded to show just how much they don't understand it by assuming it's only about sizing and not the constant societal surveillance and inability to use the change rooms and fear of being kicked out of the story and unwillingness even for friends to recognise that there's barriers in your way and try and help you.
even people trying to commiserate with me complaining about the dumb responses assumed that it was just about sizing. and phrased it all like "you're so seen and valid". fucking christ.
wow it's almost like people don't understand how challenging it is clothes shopping even years into transition as a trans woman! who could have guessed??????
Not the strongest comparison here but
"It's incredibly difficult and challenging using public bathrooms as a transgender woman and it should be obvious why if you have paid attention to anything ever"
"Girl I feel you, welcome to womanhood. sometimes the seats are gross or someone's left something on the floor, we all experience this, you're so valid for this"
(meanwhile I'm lucky if I'm not immediately stopped upon entering)
with clothes it's like ok cool but you might notice that you are wearing womens clothes from the clothes store that you bought and were able to try on before buying and weren't called a pervert and/or pedophile over it. meanwhile I am not. so maybe this is not actually "something all women experience" or just about sizing yes?
hope this isn't derailing but i think that this is heavily shaped by this condescending attitude people have about trans women's womanhood. they treat us like little girls discovering every aspect of being a woman instead of understanding us as adults who can have fully formed and informed opinions and analysis about our lived experience.
folks assume we have everything to learn about being women, because the idea that they would have anything to learn from us about it or about being a trans woman is simply too ridiculous to even cross their mind.
the "pedophile" as an image in most usamerican's head is just as constructed as anything else. It's always people lurking and luring kids online and, not, like, your relatives or private boarding school teachers or your youth group pastors. It's an extension of suburban paranoia of the Other that simultaneously closes rank within racial and class lines (even while shielding those accused of the crimes being talked about if they're of the "right" background). It's a confluence of anti-feminist satanic panic, end of history at the end of the cold war bringing the paranoia inwards, and a group of people so inundated with their alienated suburban protestant upbringing that they don't see other people if they see those different than them: they see criminals, and worse and worse attributes to slap onto the said criminals. It's a sickness of the culture.
it's always "kill all pedophiles" to mean "brutalize those we have social position to brutalize" and not, like, "let's seriously examine what social forces allow children to get victimized." Stepping out of even the suburbs, the number one pedophile organization is US military abroad. It's no wonder that the HOA-PTA thought upholders that hate both foreigners bringing this up AND examination of mechanisms of abuse love using racialized people of the usa as a rhetorical device; these yanks barely know, let alone interact with, racialized people!

actually pigs shouldn't be at pride even outside of uniform. fuck those guys
if you decide to become a police officer then that outweighs any other marginalised identity you can rustle up like. not sorry, who asked you to willingly become a pig
I have heard of black people warning their kids that the race of a police officer is cop and you should not expect solidarity from them. The same applies to other types of minorities.
The sexuality of a police officer is cop.
The gender of a police officer is cop.
When you become the enforcer and protector of capital, you are making the deal to be slightly favored by the system over others like you, in exchange for being its servant. Your solidarity is with the system that you serve, even if it hates you.
If you want solidarity with those the system hates, you cannot be the system's servant and defender.
please god watch this right now

Black asexual singer Jourdain Pauline was sexually assaulted by the streamer Tylil and she's facing mass online abuse saying she can't be sexually assaulted because she is asexual.
What happened to Jourdin Pauline is what every Black asexual person's been saying since day & a horrifying viral example of what we've been going through for years. Antiblackness & compulsory sexuality have always been linked. It's time to wake the fuck up, ace or not. The core of ace discourse was/is about reinforcing compulsory sexuality not education. 'Not understanding' asexuality, good or bad faith, is used to justify its erasure. It's a classic conservative idea that what doesn't instantly make sense has no right to exist.
The reactionary idea that human sexuality that isn't cisheterosexuality shouldn't exist is tied to anti-victim/survivor rhetoric. When an asexual person is sexually assaulted, the viewer focuses on their 'confusing' nature as the problem instead of the violation + violator.
The idea that Jourdain Pauline deserved to be assaulted for not being cisheterosexual is a chilling but common anti-queer rape culture talking point. Her SA is being justified because she's asexual.
Jourdin Pauline isn't the first Black asexual woman to be sexualised and sexually humiliated due to conservatism. The eroticisation of Yasmin Benoit and Matt Walsh's harassment of Latoya Raveneau come to mind. Most Black ace women know this sexualisation too well.
Most if not all women under patriarchy have faced some form of sexual violence. But because asexuality specifically is seen as going against human nature, it's believed that it needs to be corrected with forced sex/sexual acts. And this belief is commonly shared, even with 'progressives'
What else is left to say really? When you centre whiteness in queerness & support rape culture out of spite for queers you hate, you create the perfect condition for antiblack sexual violence like these to thrive. No one listened to us. The Black asexual is always collateral damage.
The Black asexual is always collateral damage, of white allosexual queers who erase us under the guise of 'progressive' acephobia, white asexuals who engage in puritanism for their own benefit & Black cishet people who believe their sexuality will give them approval from white society.
With the rebrand of fascism, more and more asexual people especially women are gonna come out with being (correctively) SA'd & only very few leftist leaning people will do anything about the rape culture in front of our fucking eyes. It's disgusting.
And I absolutely expect the white asexual/aspec community will ignore Jourdain Pauline's assault & sexualisation like they ignored Latoya Raveneau & Yasmin Benoit. Or give out shallow 'support POC' posts like usual. We're only sexual perpetrators to them, never victims.
I'm gonna encourage other Black aspec figures to help boost this story & support one of our own: @gentlegiantace93 @blkaroculture @asexual-goddessss
Tag for visibility: @avenpt
Note: It's still FUCK this hellsite and it's rasclart users and I'm still never giving you lot my hard work again, but if you learn anything from this post, it's that antiblackness and rape culture, the ones you enable on here and beyond, the one I've been warning you all about, the one I got harassed on here by white queer people and non Black queers of colour across the entire gender and sexuality spectrum for, exists in the real world and the consequences are deadly. If you feel bad reading this, you should.
How dare you leave this in the tags.
why more trans people should make noise music
1. if our existence already makes people uncomfortable, why not embrace uncomfortability. make uncomfortable art.
2. noise allows you to channel emotion directly into sound. the trans experience is full of emotions that are hard to explain through words, so why not skip the words. our experience as trans people are worth hearing.
3. in a world that increasingly demands our silence, noise creates a way to be loud. loud about our love, our anger, our identity.
4. noise is messy and so are we. there is no one right way to be trans, and there is no one right way to make noise.
5. the art of noise comes from the way you shape it, which parallels the trans experience. you become the person that you choose to create.
be trans, make noise.

When a black person states that something you did was racist, chill the fuck out. Its annoying dealing with you panicking trying to dissociate yourself from racism. If you're not black, black people already assume youve said nigga or its variant at least once in your life. If they're interacting with you and bringing something up, its because they want you to stop doing that so they can still interact with you(if ur already friends)
You WILL be racist. You WILL do racist things. You have ALREADY done both. Learn and move on. There's no ideological purity you can hold on to, i promise. Proving you can take the criticism without making it a big deal and practice what you preach is better than any clean slate.
Be the kind of person black people don't have to gamble on. Shut up and lock in
