The minute the pebble speaks, Gwen is startled and runs to hide behind her trainer's legs. Vivianne, the trainer, just blinks in surprise.
"Oh, I am sorry," the pink-haired girl says, "but I honestly was not aware you weren't... a rock?" She knows that sounds rude, but he was rude to Gwen.

So, that's how she feels. She's warm. He doesn't think she's ever done any physical touch before, so this is nice. She's always been so distant and cold. Walls built up just for him, it seemed. He couldn't look past it, but she placed her hand on his shoulder, and he could only hope that she was loosening the walls just a little bit. That would be nice. A step in the direction of friendship and even something more.
"Trying?" He looks at her, but then releases a breathy laugh. "Yeah. I guess I am trying, huh? I wanna do right by you. That's all.
Viv....would it be too forward if I asked to kiss you?"
Vivianne blinks. It takes her a minute to process Ilseong's request. Kiss her?!
Perhaps it feels too forward. Maybe it tis. But the fact that Ilseong said he'd want to do right by her...
"Only once. I would prefer the cheek," Vivi says, not commenting on the new nickname of Viv. "We are just figuring things out."
If Ilseong is truly sincere, he'd listen. Another subtle test.
Or perhaps she is just naive.
"I only met you recently, but you don't really deserve to be killed." It was as simple as that, really. "We only met recently, but I don't feel any anger or whatever when I see you." Even if she took Cecil right from under his nose. "It's hard to explain. It's a little complicated, my emotions." He has his hand on his chest now, while the free hand still holds the treat. Eventually, though, he places his dessert on the empty side of the seat they're sitting on and looks to her.
"Might not do any good. Me saying all this probably doesn't ease that worry, but I can say with a full chest that I wouldn't hurt you in any way."
Vivi sets her still half-finished desert aside. It's only the two of them in this space. Still, when she sees Ilseong place a hand on his chest, Vivianne reaches out to place a hand on his shoulder - the first contact she has initiated this whole ... time? Date?
"I can see you're trying to be sincere," Vivi says gently, "and it may take some time. I do think that, maybe, in time I won't worry about that."
She could just be saying this to calm Ilseong down.
There's a look of surprise in his eyes. He has to adjust his glasses and clear his throat. Some people may have laughed at what Vivianne said because of how ridiculous it was, but Ilseong wouldn't do that. It seemed to have been a real fear and worry of her's and perhaps the reasoning for her being so withdrawn with him!
"Was that what you were worried about?" he finally asks once the shock calmed. "Is that why you were distant from me? Because you worried I'd kill you?"
She must have talked to someone. Someone....The only ones who knewĀ were Cecil and that damned angel who mind-read. Bastard. Out of those two, he knew who'd tell her.
"Not you," he answers with a shake of his head. Emotions such as genuine and sincerity came easily with him. He believed at that moment, after all. "Never you."
Vivianne is aware, suddenly, of just how worry sits in her chest now. Ilseongās reaction to her statement made more pieces set into place. The trainer has to find a second to breathe -aware that Ilseong is observing her.
āIf I must be frank,ā Vivi says, āthen, yes. I was worried youād kill me.ā She doesnāt voice the āstill mightā that rests on her tongue.
When Ilseong says those two phrases, VIviās still second guessing herself. āWhy never me?ā The girl foolishly presses. āYouāve only met me recently.ā
"Yeah. I figured." Ilseong says with a laugh. "Just...I guess I would like it if you at least gave me a chance, y'know? I'm not all bad. I don't think."
He had been told otherwise by the adults around him and the children of his age when he was younger. So many feared him and had said he was nothing but trouble. Ilseong chews on the inside of his cheek, eyes cast downward at his treat. His finger fidgets against the wrapping, and then, he lifts his gaze to look at Vivianne.
"Hey, is there any chance that something could work between us?"
Vivi looks away when Ilseong looks down at his dessert. How could she voice that she couldnāt shake this fear he might harm her? It wasnāt fair to Ilseong.
But Klausā warning is still fresh in her mind. Though she is dating Cecil, and Vivi is well aware that he would have no qualms about killing her if it so struck him.
So, when Ilseong looks up at her again, Vivi sighs. She gives in. āSomething could,ā the pink-haired trainer admits. āProvided you donāt try to kill me.ā
Maybe that will keep her safe. If Ilseong is being genuine.

"I was beginning to think you had quit."
She's well aware that there was a reason for Vivianne's absence, but she won't say anything. "Soft Elk was looking for you." It always liked being around people It saw often. Vivianne was one of them, considering they worked together.
Ah, young miss Dam-bi. Ever so forward. Vivianne just smiles gently at her direct coworker.
āNon, I had fallen ill,ā Vivi says, āand it was so sudden, I had not called out appropriately. I am sorry that my absence worried Soft Elk.ā Vivi knows Dam-bi is more guarded about expressing worry, but that is fine. Soft Elk expresses enough for the young girl.
āHave you been doing alright? Do you need any alterations to todayās outfit or are you in need of a break, Dam-bi?ā
"I'm not the best at giving advice, but..." She was trying to be better, and that counted for something, didn't it? Firefly smiles at the Eevee, before turning her attention back to the woman. "If you'd like to tell me what's on your mind, I'd be happy to give my thoughts."
"So, what is it? Bad day...bad week," she muses, continuing to list off possible things. "Something, maybe...someone?"
āSomeone,ā Vivi answers as she pets the Eevee in her lap. āUnfortunately, because of this island, they are no longer here.ā
She gives Firefly a half-hearted smile. āIt is rather silly, I will admit.ā She says. āAfter all, it is always a possiblity people can suddenly leave this place without any planning.ā
malchior is used to this now. many of the citizens of spirale seem to have familiars. pets, they call them, but old habits die hard. this one is soft- fluffy body brushing against him before the creature is snatched up by a young woman. pink hair, he notes. like some sort of fae creature in her own right. ā there is no need to apologize, ā
ā your familiar is curious about its surroundings. that is to be expected. ā the fluffy creature seems to be rather relaxed in the young woman's arms. a familiar well loved- that often spoke volumes of the nature of the owner. ā you must be here for knowledge- as many are when they enter a library. i can help you find any book that you would like. or are you here simply for a quiet spot to rest? ā
Familiar? That is a new phrase for her companion that Vivianne has heard. It reminds her of how older Kalosians used to speak about their pokemon. She does give the gentleman a small smile.
āMostly for a quiet spot to rest, but I am curious if this place has any books that showcase historical fashion.ā Vivi says as she continues to pet Gwen.
āThough, with the nature of this island, perhaps that may be a stretch.ā
AN APPRECIATIVE CHUCKLE ESCAPES HIM AT THE SENTIMENT. it was to be expected in some way, he thinks, given his penchant for entertainment. risk was always a latent variable in everything one does, though. whether that singular party would have been a hit truly hinged on if people cared enough to see it with their own eyes, a chance offered to some no-name who had decided upon the whims of it all to open up his home to any and all willing. ā Then I'll be quite certain to hand you one of the first invitations when the right time strikes, friend. ā not so much a promise, but a gesture of good will toward the trainer.
now as for her other pointed interest in this idle conversation...
ā You could say that, ā he admits as much, each member of the stonehearts come to mind swiftly, all with their unique skillsets that came with handling planets. the ways they interact were hardly friendly in the slightest but, rather, that of an oiled machine tasked to their most beneficial outcome. now, the fact that it was mostly manipulation and coercion to get those selfsame planets into their midst... well, it was no business of his to inform her of all those gritty details. ā It is true that it takes some time to get things in full swing with a single planet when it comes to all the planning, the investments, let alone the return gains. Not to mention the pretty dust to make it all come together. But I'd wager there's always a valuable chip in the pile ready for that particular gamble. ā
Vivianne just smiles calmly at Aventurine when he makes his promise of a personal invitation delivery to his next event. She still pets her companionās back as Aventurine responds to her comment about his team. She stays quiet.
So this man was, perhaps, a gambler. The way he spoke about party planning and his former profession before coming to Isola said volumes already. It is a note she puts away mentally, just in case he ever steps into Faucher when she is up front.
āIt sounds hard to imagine,ā the trainer says instead, ābut if youāre a Senior, then you must have many successes under your guidance. To think other planets with life exist. Have you personally visited any?ā

š®š¾ "Do you come from a world where people capture these PokĆ©mon things and battle them? Hm... I feel like that's pretty common." Kit had uttered that last sentence quietly to herself after chatting Vivianne up. It was a goal of hers to get a sense of the genre of world everyone came from. Partly for her personal curiosity, partly so that she could keep an eye out if she ever ended up seeing them in the future outside of the city.
Assuming they were all from video games anyways, but that sounded like the perfect setup for a video game, didn't it?
Kit watched the woman's PokƩmon's eyes follow tail moving side to side behind her. "There's not a chance that she sees me as a PokƩmon, right? I'm not really into fighting adorable... defenseless... critters."
Vivianne nodded. āYes, but not everyone battles with their Pokemon. Usually only trainers do.ā She answered as she, too, kept an eye on Gwen.
She did laugh a little. āDo not worry, mon ami. She is curious about your tail.ā Vivianne assured Kit. āThough, she may also want some pets. She will not bite, if you want to give her some.ā

"He is with me, but I cannot say if it the same for his other lovers. If he has any." Vivi answers as she still pokes at her dessert - she doesn't bring any more to eat. Yet.
Ilseong's words make her pause. "I would like to know why," Vivi says, glancing over at the other. "Do you mean it in a romantic sense? A platonic sense?"
A kill me sense?
"That's enough, I think. He should be treating you with kindness and love," he says with a firm nod.
He falls silent, now his eyes looking among the collection of Forgotten items. His sweet desert lays ready to be fully devoured in his hands, but he doesn't touch it anymore. The silence seems to last longer than it should. A simple question, and he finds the answer hard to find.
That is...Until he finds it finally.
"Mm, both, really. I want to be your friend, but I want to be more. I....I think because of how you are. I feel it will keep me in line." He chuckles, shaking his head, "I don't know if that makes any sense. Being here is a reminder that I'm not who I used to be, but I think you may be able to help me find that. I think I really like that about you.
Ah...I hope it doesn't make you feel any more weirded out by me. I just thought I'd be as honest with you as I could."
Vivi, finally, takes a chance for a bite of her dessert as she waits for Ilseongās answer. His response, when it does come, makes her heart almost drop - if it could do that.
She stares at him, almost in disbelief. He has to be saying that to get her guard down, right?
As for keeping him in lineā¦ What nonsense is that? Klausā¦ Klaus warned her something was wrong with Ilseong. Would that be what the doctor means by that?
Vivi shifts in her seat, unsure how to process this. āThat isā¦ a lot to take in, Ilseong,ā she says carefully, as if picking her words right might keep her alive. āI am afraid, I donāt have an answer for you.ā
"Mm, I was just curious." He smiles and focuses his eyes on his desert now. He happily enjoys a few bites and hums with content. "He looks like someone who'd be a very nice lover, you know?"
"But I meant what I said earlier, you know? Before you agreed to go on this date with me. I want to see you smile as big as you do when you see Cecil," his voice softens. "But, of course, I won't force anything."
"He is with me, but I cannot say if it the same for his other lovers. If he has any." Vivi answers as she still pokes at her dessert - she doesn't bring any more to eat. Yet.

They stroll through the halls, looking at each forgotten memory. His and maybe even hers. Ilseong would have no way of knowing. After some time walking, he finds a place to sit. It's quiet. Eerily, so. Just the two of them with Vivianne's half eaten desert and his own, nearly gone.
"Vivi? What do you think of Cecil? Is he nice to you?" The question comes randomly, but his attention is on her. As if he hangs on her every word.
Vivi's grip tightens a little on her desert. She didn't quite expect the questions - nor the fact that Ilseong was paying very close attention to her. She pokes at the desert in her hands. She hates how eerily quiet and alone this spot was.
"He is," Vivi says. "He treats me well, and I enjoy my time with him." She looks over at Ilseong. "Why are you asking?"
Ilseong's own eyes follow Vivi's when she looks away. Briefly does his eyes land on her's, "we get stories like that in my world. Take care of your toys or ghosts will possess 'em." He reaches for the bear to caress it ever so gently by the ears.
"My mother did, actually. Before my parents left, they gifted me the bear." He has a look on his face, like he's staring at a past. He shakes the feeling away and faces Vivianne with a big smile, "Shall we keep looking?"
Vivi watches Ilseong caress the bear's ear. She thinks about stepping away while he's distracted, but she is too slow. Ilseong suggest they move on.
"I suppose," Vivi says as she resigns to try to find another opportunity to escape. While everything is fine now, Vivi isn't sure how long it will stay that way. She should have refused to come here.
But a gnawing feeling tells her that could have made things worse. So here she is in a museum of things forgotten with someone she's sure will kill her.
Vivi stays quiet as she walks, not looking at the other displays too closely. Not even when she sees a charm bracelet that looks like one she had as a child. Her desert sits in her hands half-eaten.
"How interesting," the small creature - neither cat nor dog, neither fox nor feline - seemed friendly enough. Not that he was entirely unused to such strange animals, chimera or creation - not to mention the Astral Express was swiftly becoming overrun with them - he knelt down, putting a hand out for it to sniff just in case.
"This is your companion?" He looks up to the young woman who is with the creature who had approached him.
"What is it's name?"

The fluffy, brown fox-cat did sniff the older gentleman's hand when it is offered. It then butted its head against the hand - a clear sign for pets.
Vivianne smiled warmly at the gentleman. "Yes, monsieur, she is," the young woman answered. "Her name is Gwenhwyfar, but you can call her Gwen for short. She is an Eevee."

If Lyney was already charmed by the sweet Vivi and her companion Gwen, hearing that she not only knew of, but actually worked at a boutique made the magicianās face light up completely. āThatās incredible!ā he exclaimed, reaching out to take her hands in his with sheer excitement. āI would absolutely love to see your work. Lyney was already getting carried away, far too excited by the idea.
Vivianne is certainly surprised when Lyney takes a hold of her hands. Still, the spark of joy in the other's eyes is not hard to miss.
"I do have my sketches with me," Vivi says as she frees one hand to pull up her phone. She turns it to Lyney so he can take it and look through the album.
"As for the commission, i am willing to discuss details at any date." VIvi doesn't say she isn't sure she could take non-Faucher work. If it gave her something to do, she'll make time for it.
āI-I w-wouldnāt say thatā¦ā Till argues tenatively. āB-beinā comfortable around strangersā¦ That j-just means sheās not afraid, r-right? Iā¦ I can t-tell she was raised w-with a lotta loveā¦ a-anā I think thatās really n-niceā¦ā
His face softens as he watches the little animal wiggle playfully before he realizes heās being addressed.
āUmā¦ N-n-nice tā meet ya, V-Vivi. You too, Gwen.ā Till turns his attention to the womanās furry companion, greeting the eevee directly.
āI-if ya donāt mind me a-askināā¦ W-whatā¦ b-breedā¦? Is sheā¦? Iāve n-never seen aā¦ W-wellā¦ I never s-seen anythinā quite like herā¦ā
Vivianne hums. Till is right. "I have not thought about it that way, thank you." She gives Till a gentle smile.
When Till asks what breed Gwen is, Vivi holds out the Pokemon to Till as she answers. "Gwen is a Pokemon called an Eevee. Before I got here, she was evolved into a Syvleon. You can hold her, if you'd like."
Vivi figured now Till wouldn't hurt Gwen. Plus, it might help his stammer.
