Forever thinking about how Derek is the only reason Avery is able to make it to the King.
I remember wondering to myself why Derek was even here. The King wanted Avery, so what was the point of luring Derek in?
Then I realized, Derek was the bait to lure Avery in.
Avery isn't Derek. He's not motivated by curiousity for the unknown. He's not motivated by the challenge of solving complex puzzles.
He was motivated by Derek.
Avery spends the entire time feeling inept and terrified. And he almost gives up multiple times.
But Avery still keeps pushing forward.
At every turn, Derek is what pushes Aveey forward.
When Avery's about to leave the world, he sees the "Disconnect" button, and it reminds him that Derek is there---that Derek needs help.
Avery assumes the crafting table trail is from Derek, so he follows it.
The only reason he pushes through in spite of his insecurity and fear is because someone needs him. Derek needs him.
Avery would have never found the courage to journey into the King's worlds without Derek as his motivation. And therefore, the King would have never been able to get to Avery without Derek.
Derek was always intended as the bait.
And I'm forever stuck thinking about how true Avery's line of "YOU'RE ONLY PART OF THIS BECAUSE IT WANTED ME" is.
Quick breakdown of all the Pride headcanons hereee
Deku: Bisexual, Genderqueer (he goes by all pronouns, but mostly present masc)
Uraraka: Pansexual, Graysexual (sheās fine in the romance department, but itās very rare for them to feel sexual desire!), Demigirl
Iida: Asexual, Demiromantic, Trans FtM
Todoroki: Androsexual (theyāre mainly attracted to masculine features, personality or physically, regardless of the recipients gender!), Demifluid (heās partially fluid in gender, but still somewhat holds onto her birth identity: male)
Tsuyu: Lesbian, Demisexual, Apagender (she presents mainly femme, but doesnāt care much for her pronouns or gender identity: apathetic)
Iām too lazy to point out where each of the flags are but hereās some hard to get ones:
Uraraka has the Graysexual flag on their skirt, nose, and bracelet
Tsu has the demisexual flag across her face and the lesbian flag on her shorts!
These are just my personal opinions on what fits them most, AND what would make for a diverse cast of identities, bc representation within LGBTQIA+ media is still important, so I wanted to highlight less commonly known identities, too! (Which you can see some very quick and nasty explanations up there for lol)
In honor of Pride month, in addition to my weekly posts of MHA Squad Pride, Iāll also beā¦
Opening MHA Pride art requests!
So, if you have a headcanon for an MHA character/couple, especially for characters that I donāt cover in future squad pieces (Dekusquad, Bakusquad, Rooftop Squad, and a secret bonus oneā¦) then you can request me to draw it!
Of course, it wonāt be the same quality as the squad pieces, but itāll still be fully colored with (mostly) neat line work ;3
And if you donāt want anything MHA related, I canāt do anything for you, but I DO have a Ko-Fi shop where I do commissions! Or you can do a small tip to support <3

I think it's weird to imply that interpreting them romantically is "reducing" rather than just another form of expanding upon it. exploring a dynamic through a romantic lens doesn't have to hinder anything, and what can explored platonically can be explored romantically too. and in my 7 years in the fandom shippers tend to dissect the characters incredibly well ! so.
