He chuckles, giving a sort of wavery smile, “Merasmus hasn’t had much time for real hobbies for a long time… This world is a much needed break..!”
“Yeah…sounds like it….You should feed some birds or something…go to a park.”
They gesture vaguely, still a little out of it.
“Ah, no… Well, maybe. Merasmus has not done anything of the sort yet! But… Well, despite this place being a break, I find it hard to settle in just yet.”
Glancing around the room, Merasmus seems briefly distracted, before returning to Daye. “No matter! I have potions to brew! Spells to… Conjure… Eh, maybe not those… You get the gist, though, mortal!”
“....You’d like birds. You’re nice. We should go see some birds sometime......later.”
They lift a hand that is still a bit shakey.
“Not when I’m fucked up like this. Okay?”

Merasmus nods, though he frowns at xer continued talking.
“Are you feeling alright enough to talk this much, mortal? If so, I may wean you off of the magic flow momentarily, then put you back on. Merasmus thinks this may help aid in your recovery... But I do not want to destabilize you, either.”

" It...might help. I can't...make my own magic right now, so...that...might help."
Xe sound a little tuckered out, probably from all of the crying.
Merasmus gives a thumbs up, staying seated by xer side. He very, very slowly, and carefully unwinds a thread of magic, lifting it away from xem, and watches for any ill effects.
Xe gasp, as xer form beings to destabilize again. It’s better than the last time, but it’s still clearly causing xem pain. Xe attempt to say something, but it’s garbled and glitchy, like a broken record player.
“Ah-,” He waits a moment, then reintroduces the thread, frowning. “That is... Not ideal!”
“It does seem to be an improvement, though...”
Xer form stabilizes again, breathing heavily. Xe groan slightly, dragging a hand down xer face.
“Yeah....Damn, that hurt.”
“It must have..! Merasmus worries about this... But it is a promising development...”
“Hm, perhaps a distraction is in order, then?”
Xe turn towards Merasmus, raising an eyebrow. “A....distraction..”

Upon seeing that those in the Med bay seem busy, try not to disturb them! Hmm… Try bringing the mortal to that Spy’s room instead! The door was open, I do hope they don’t mind…
Be vaguely aware that you are home. Try to move about, but fail. Your bones feel heavy and sore. Ugh.
Lay xem down on one of the chairs in the Spy’s room, and very carefully draw a blanket over xem while trying to keep a steady flow of magic going- which, while made far easier by the raw energy from Ford dissipating completely, is still unfamiliar and stretched too thin for your liking.
“I’m afraid I missed the large majority of that battle of yours, mortal(?), but Merasmus hopes you’ll recover quickly.”
Xe just groan, unwilling to do much else. Xe almost want to rest, but are afraid what’ll happen if they do. Xe turn xer head towards Merasmus, tears starting to well up in xer eyes.
“A…am….am I going t…to…to die…?”
Xe struggle to speak, and the staticky effect on xer voice is starting to waver, and xer voice generally sounds less…exaggerated. More….human, almost.
Xe let out a half-hearted laugh, sinking back into the cushions of the couch. Xe close xer eyes and just...let the tears roll. It’s humiliating, but they’ve been through a lot today. They needed this.
