When I was a child, from the time I was about four and could understand things, my mom told me and my brother that we should have a secret word. That way, if we were ever in trouble or felt unsafe and we didn’t want the people around us to know we needed her to come get us, we could let her know. So she let us pick the word and my brother and I chose the phrase “peanut butter cups.” (I’m happy to share the phrase now since both my brother and I are adults now).

I used the phrase twice in my life. Once, I was at a friends house when I eight years old. Her dad got really drunk and was throwing things against the wall. I was really scared and I didn’t want to draw attention to myself on the phone when I called my mom to come get me because I didn’t know if he would get more violent if I asked her to come get me. So I called her and was calm and after a couple minutes I asked “Hey mommy, did you get me those peanut butter cups from the store?” And she said “I’ll be right there.” And she came and got me within minutes.

Second, I was a teenager spending the night at a friends house. Her brother and dad were drinking and they started talking about things that made me uncomfortable - ie: what they liked to do to women. My friend didn’t seem perturbed and said that was normal for them and that I shouldn’t worry. But I was worried because they were really drunk and I was 15 and the only ‘woman’ around that wasn’t related to them. I went in my friends room, told her I needed to call my mom and say goodnight. Before I hung up with her I asked “Next time we go to the store, can we get some peanut butters cups? I’ve been craving them.” And she came and got me, just like that.

Two incidents, one as a young child, one years later as a teen. Don’t discredit this stuff, it fucking works. My brother used it a few times too. Let your child pick the word and no never, ever, ever, ever get mad at them for using it no matter what it is.

Today, I learned a lesson about friendship. I am a friend that when you are in need I am here my whole body , my soul I will support you all the way. Even if it is biggest storm I will be there to be with you at your back when you are you’re about to fall. To be ahead of you to be your shield. I will not allowed anybody to hurt you and when somebody did you have the squad to feel you “ you have a friend to lean on”

Feeling something....

I am currently doing nothing now, I just want to write something. I don’t know how to start, what the topic should I write but let it go. I have a lot of ideas in my mind. Thinking of new career, doing some mama duties, birthday ideas for dada and the likes. Now, grrrrh, I saw some pictures of London I want to go there as in now right now, wish that I have a power for just one click and I will be in the place I want woooh I will SuperMaylyn hahahha. Well, let me share you that I have a disease called ‘pwedeng drama queen, its a condition that you actually cry a lot when you suddenly feel lonely, weird. yeah I’m weirdo. But don’t worry it can be cured by a lot of doses of smile of Tyler. Heck bye bye...

It was fun, that’s all it was F.U.N. My little family went to Baguio to celebrate the 2nd birthday of our child. On our first day we went to Baguio Cathedral. the interior and exterior design of the church is really awesome. You can see the the spear head of the church when you were in Session Road and in the heart of the city. We prayed inside the church to give thanks for all the blessings we received and of course for the giving us our son. Next, we went to Burnham Park, before going to the park we just first walk to session road, that time it was closing week of Panagbenga Festival so there’s a lot of food store, tiangge and a lot of stuff to choose from. When we arrived to Burnham Park, first we ride at man made lake. We enjoyed boating in the entire lake. Tyler wanted to paddled the boat hahaha yes he really wanted but he can’t coz he’s so little to do that and he cried. The Park also have bicycle ride but we didn’t ride because we just want to walk. When it got hot, we just went back to our hotel to have some rest.

On the same day, we went to SM City Baguio to have our lunch. Don’t be surprise the mall has no air conditioner but still it was cold. We ate our lunch at Classic Savory. Of course, Pancit, chicken and rice and Lomi soup that’s all. Pancit is the favorite food of Tyler next to Pasta. We just explore the mall. We had a lot of walk. Before we came back to the hotel, we bought a cake for Tyler. We went to Red Ribbon bakeshop to buy a small cake to be blow candle and have some wish on that night. We chose Ultimate Chocolate Cake. I asked the staff of RR to wrote a “Happy 2nd B-day Tyler”.

When we arrived in our Hotel, I just set the Birthday Bunting, Balloons and of course his cake. We sang Happy Birthday and we spoke our wishes and then blew the cake. Yehey! Happy Birthday my dearest Tyler! Mommy and Daddy and the entire family loves you!!!

Countdown....

6 days to go until Tyler’s second birthday. I am excited to celebrate his birthday in the City of Pines. We just excited to see and explore the city. Me and my partner decided not to have a grand celebration but to visit one of the local places here in the Philippines. We chose Baguio City, perfect for a two year old boy. It will be the first week of March so we just hoping it will not so crowded because this will be the closing week of Panagbenga festival 2016. We have countdown sheet in our house to see how many days until his big day.
