sofía has successfully reached that point where she's halfway between tipsy and thrashed. to most people, it would mean it's time to slow down, drink some water and pull yourself together before it's too late, but that's not how the blonde operates. the splitting headache she's bound to have tomorrow morning is future sofía's business. " millie ! " she calls out as soon as her blue eyes land on a familiar head of red hair. sofía crosses the distance between the two of them, meeting the other halfway and giggling as miller practically lounges towards her. " oh yeah, i'm having a blast. are you ? " she reaches up to fix millie's hair, all while grinning up at the redhead. " and where were you hiding ? i swear i didn't see you before or else i would've said hi. "

sammy wanted to leave already, this party was getting a little too out of hand for her liking honestly, and all she wanted to do was go to bed. making her way back to her car, she ran into a familiar face and smiled as she made her way over to her. " how are you? " she asked, looking at the other. " i was just about to leave actually, but i'm glad you finally decided to show up for once! "

and if she were to admit it? the hockey player would probably be kind of over it, too, but she wasn't going to admit to anything. usually one to show up fashionably late , she didn't get to see everyone get fully rowdy. "so good! i've had so many drinks," theres a head nod. "think i usually just get here after you leave."

"ma'am, i am in med school," he says, approaching her. "i just want you to pause for a moment and think: did i ruin your night or give you a gift? i would argue the latter. see, cigarettes can bring you short-term happiness. but i gave you a gift, when you think about it. the gift of health. trust me, i'm studying to be a doctor."

"congragulations?" the woman snorts, use of ma'am having her rolling her eyes and crossing her arms against her chest. she scoffs, already bored, how long could a lecture go on. "are you really or are you just trying to get in my pants? either way, not a fan."

intimidated easily, dani had impressed herself by bridging the cap between herself and miller. miller was a force, kind but also fierce, on and off the ice. perhaps it was a survival tactic: keep herself closer to those she would usually fear. her name slips from her lips easily, finding comfort in the idea of being by miller for at least some of the evening. the hug wasn't expected, body freezing momentarily before reciprocating a gentle embrace. “  hey.   ” small exhale of relief. “  yeah. i mean it's a lot but i'm not hating it. you look irritated, though. you okay?   ”

" do you know what i think would make this party better ? drunk shakespeare . " the announcement came following the finishing for her fourth beer , or was it her sixth ? she was acutely aware it wasn't number five because she had left that one somewhere . or had she ? " wait what was i saying ? " her hum followed as she squinted to clear her vision for a moment . " oh right , all this house and not one stage , where does the entertainment happen! "

the mix of beer and shots miller had , had meant that her brow furrows in confusion . is she confused because she’s wasted or is she just regular confused ? “ shakespeare ? like the poet ? do you wanna do slam poetry or what ? ”

"bet you 10 bucks can't kick yours farther than that," reed challenges. the event may be all about the hockey guys, but he's put his football skills to good ( or well, bad ) use by kicking his empty plastic cup as far as he can.

and it doesn’t hurt but it does get her to drop her cigarette on the pavement when it hits her in the head . her last cigarette , at that , and although she only smokes well drunk ? she huffs , spinning to face him . “ dude , you’re kidding ? that was my last smoke .”

"hi, um... do you mind if i take a photo of you? it's just for social media," trixie explains. she tries to steady her slightly trembling hand as it holds her phone. she wants to convince the people she knows ( and herself ) that she's been having soooo much fun tonight.

and it’s not like she means to judge , but instantly her brow furrows in confusion . a photo of her ? ten minutes after having her head in the toilet ? “ for your social media ? ” just a photo of her doesn’t make much sense . “ or like the schools ? ‘cause i don’t think any scrolling professor wants to see me like this . ”

the  music  bouncing  off  the  walls  vibrated  through  her  body  as  she  let  herself  let  loose,  head  rolling  backwards  in  rhythm.  the  packed  space  leaving  little  room  for  her  body  actually  moved  but  that  didn’t  bother  her,  mind  already  on  a  high  since  she  got  to  the  house  party.  sloane  brings  her  fourth  can  of  beer  up  to  her  mouth  only  to  realise  it  was  empty,  jutting  her  bottom  lip  out  in  a  pout  she  turns  to  the  one  in  front  of  her  “  i  need  a  refill,  ”  she  motions  to  the  kitchen  “  come  with  ?  please.  ”  she  stretches  the  last  word  as  she  starts  moving  backwards.

thank god she was considerably drunk , her feet moving to the beat and her kinked hair tossed behind her shoulders . eyes open at the others voice over the music and she grins , her own cup empty and long forgotten somewhere in the mess of a house . smirk forms and she nods , hand latching to the others so that they don’t lose each other . “ obviously , i wouldn’t leave you alone to stumble through the wreckage ! ”
