there's a knock, despite them already allowing her to know the door was unlocked. an attempt at making the situation more casual, one less step to remind them both of where they were currently in their dynamic; at one point, she'd enter without the knock. “  hey, just finishing up.   ” voice is soft, smile immediate and easy. an inability to focus on the anxiety coursing through veins and focused solely on the femme before them, resisting the urge to look her up and down; a habit. “  wasn't sure what you'd be in the mood for, but you never complained of chicken parm in the past, so.   ”

she  walks  in  after  the  knock,  stopping  next  to  the  door  to  shed  her  bags  and  scarf,  an  action  so  simple  yet  felt  so  familiar  and  casual  that  made  her  heart  that  much  heavier.  maddie  finally  turns  to  look  at  them  and  smiles  timidly  "  hey,  "  feet  stalk  towards  where  they  were  and  eyes  glance  down  at  the  food,  eyes  widen  ever  so  slightly  and  lips  tug  in  a  wider  smile  and  hand  come  up  to  lock  in  front  of  herself  "  and  i  will  not  be  starting  now  !  can't  believe  you  remembered  that.  thank  you,  that's  very  nice.  "  she  gazes  up  at  them,  a  glint  in  her  eyes  that  was  always  there  when  maddie  looked  at  him  "  really,  you  didn't  have  to  cook,  so  i  really  appreciate  the  thought.  "

“  truthfully, i think shopping for my father is going to be the reason i begin hating this holiday.   ” iced coffee is officially emptied, remnants of melted cubes slosh around the bottom of the cup, straw already chewed to bits due to the stress grinding that happened since entering the shopping mall. “  seriously, what person decides oh, christmas is right around the corner, let me order my whole amazon cart right now?  ”

sloane  kept  the  straw  of  her  coffee  in  her  mouth  even  if  there  was  close  to  no  liquid  for  her  to  drink  anymore  in  her  cup.  "  guess  it’s  good  i  don't  have  to  think  about  dad's  gifts,  cause  what  the  hell  do  older  men  even  like  ?  "  she  chuckles,  hand  offering  comfort  to  dani's  shoulder  "  wait  he  got  everything  on  his  amazon  cart  ?  what  about  the  wishlist,  does  he  have  anything  on  his  wishlist  ?  "

“ oh hey, did you need help with that ? ” he questioned, pulling what he needed from the shelf before looking over at the shorter person beside him struggling. “ i don’t mind … really. ”

she  is  startled  by  the  voice  that  comes  from  beside  her,  she  drops  from  her  stretched  position  to  look  at  him  she  grins  and  nods  "  really  ?  could  you  actually,  that's  very  nice.  "  she  moves  away  from  the  shelf  and  points  "  i  don't  know  why  they  even  have  tall  shelves.  "

“ oh … you actually brought books. ” there was some disbelief to his tone, though he was expecting it. shaking his head as he stood in the doorway in nothing more than a pair of grey sweatpants. “ how long are we going to do the fake assignment routine ? ”

madelaine  looks  at  him  with  a  dumfounded  expression  and  nods  her  head  slowly  "  obviously  ?  why  wouldn't  i  ?  "  eyes  take  in  his  outfit  or  lack  there  of  and  rolls  them  as  she  moves  past  him  into  the  house.  maddie  makes  her  way  to  the  living  room  and  sets  her  notebook  down  on  the  table  before  turning  towards  drew  "  this  is  not  a  routine,  i  have  a  real  assignment  to  do.  and  this...  "  she  motions  between  them  "  is  not  going  to  happen.  "

vienna  was  sipping  on  whatever  sloane  made  them  for  their  hangovers.  it  didn't  quite  help  just  yet,  but  she  was  hopeful.  “  i  don't  know  why  she  made  such  a  big  deal  out  of  it.  ”  vienna  says  as  she  leans  back,  looking  at  sloane.  “  so  we  both  dressed  as  daphne,  what's  the  big  fucking  deal  ?  ”  leaning  forward,  trying  not  to  throw  up  what  she  just  drank. 

sloane  sipped  the  drink  without  any  problems,  had  drunk  so  much  of  concoction  in  her  lifetime  that  she  had  learned  to  enjoy  it.  turns  to  look  at  friend  with  a  furrowed  eyebrow,  straw  still  in  her  mouth  as  she  shrugs  "  me  neither,  you  both  looked  great  as  daphne.  but  some  people  are  just  like  that.  is  annoying.  "  she  absentmindedly  lets  her  hand  rub  vienna's  back  as  she  leans  forward  "  i  mean  i  saw  other  pirates,  took  some  pictures  with  them.  "

winter  cheers  in  glee  as  the  pizza  box  reaches  her,  not  usually  something  she  reached  for  so  she  was  always  happy  to  eat  it  "  okay,  thank  you  so  much,  freya  !  "  she  exclaims  as  she  pulls  a  slice  of  pizza  onto  a  plate  for  herself,  she  starts  biting  down  on  the  food  as  she  watches  the  other  look  for  the  movie.  winnie's  eyes  widen  at  the  selection  and  grins  "  all  great  options,  but  i  have  to  go  with  princess  diaries.  there's  no  going  wrong  with  it.  "

maddie  chews  on  her  pen  as  her  gaze  is  laser  focused  on  the  laptop  in  front  of  her,  she  listens  to  the  other  with  a  half  a  mind  but  she  snorts  at  the  words  "  they  can  be  annoying.  "  she  looks  up  to  her  friend  and  slightly  tilts  her  head  "  you  totally  should,  actually.  do  not  let  those  people  take  credit  for  your  hard  work.  "  she  sighs  and  shrugs  her  shoulders  at  joslyn  "  you  know,  this  and  that.  nothing  crazy,  a  lot  of  work  to  be  finished.  "

confusion trickles in , like molasses , thick and heavy . lips part to question the fuck it , but she doesn't get the chance , large hands encompassing cheeks and familiar lips against her own . a soft sound of surprise parts lips before as practically leans into his mouth , fingers latching on to the material of his costume . but almost as soon as he was there , he was gone and another pair of lips met hers . and she knew these just as well , dragging another soft sound from the back of her throat as she kept one hand against his side , the other curling up , over shoulder to curl itself in the wild curls . everything else just stops mattering in the moment , cooling skin now warming beneath touch , the anger shallowing as body reacts in ways it so often does around them . when pulled back , eyes blink slowly , brows furrowed slightly , barely room for breath between any of them . what the hell ? lingers in her head , but she doesn't dare say it out loud in fear of popping this newly formed bubble .

sloane  drinks  the  sounds  coming  from  fee,  lips  pouring  all  the  emotions  swirling  in  her  brain onto the other.  she  was  shocked  fee  hadn't  stopped  either  of  them  at  this  point  but  sloane  was  not  going  to  complain  at  all.  as  drew's  lips  meet  her  neck  she  lets  a  breathy  sound  escape  into  fee's,  her  hand  on  his  neck  trickling  up  to  interlock  with  his  hair.  between  the  two  sets  of  lips  on  her,  sloane  felt  ecstatic,  did  she  knew  what  they  were  doing  ?  no,  did  she  knew  if  this  was  at  all  a  good  idea?  also  no  but  she  would  worry  about  that  some  other  time  when  she  didn't  feel  as  good  as  she  did  in  that  moment.  the  brunette  pulls  away  from  fee  and  smiles  at  her  ,  she  barely  has  enough  time  to  process  how  little  space  there  is  between  all  of  them  before  drew  is  diving  for  his  second  fill.  her  grin  watching  them  is  cut  short  as  she  feels  his  hand  on  her  skin,  she  hums  in  approval  as  he  lowers  it  and  inches  closer  to  tug  on  his  lobe  with  her  teeth  and  leave  a  couple  of  pecks  on  his  jaw  before  she  turns  her  attention  back  to  fee.  free  hand  brushes  the  blonde  tresses  behind  the  other  and  she  lowers  herself  to  take  advantage  of  her  disgustingly  hot  tiny  outfit  by  letting  her  lips  hungrily  leave  trails  of  kisses  up  neck  and  shoulders. @icedruins

she  hates  the  way  the  act  flutters  something  in  her  chest  ,  breaking  down  the  hard  wall  she  tried  so  hard  to  keep  in  place  ,  to  still  the  wobble  of  her  lip  that  seeing  them  together  brought  forward  .  blue  eyes  flutter  away  ,  towards  the  can  that  lingers  in  the  space  between  ,  throwing  it  never  once  crossing  her  mind  as  she  registers  favourite  .  brows  soften  ,  the  crease  easing  slightly  ,  shoulders  dropping  .  she  doesn’t  thank  him  ,  but  her  lips  part  as  if  she  wants  to  .  she  wants  to  forget  the  harsh  reality  and  sink  back  into  the  weeks  prior  ,  where  this  wasn’t  stiff  .  gaze  finally  drifts  away  at  the  call  of  her  name  ,  and  sloanes  step  closer  had  her  stepping  back  ,  and  yet  closing  the  distance  between  all  three  of  them  without  realising  .  music  still  beats  around  them  ,  the  bass  reverberating  in  her  chest  as  stiffness  finally  evaporates  .    “  i  don’t  know  .  ”     whispered  .  she  didn’t  know  .  she  couldn’t  tell  them  what  to  do  ,  she  didn’t  own  them  .

the  words  that  fee  uttered  made  sloane's  shoulders  drop,  she  was  losing  hope  she  had  no  idea  what  she  could  do  anymore  and  all  she  needed  was  one  direction  from  the  blonde  and  she  would  do  it  without  question.  she  closes  her  eyes  taking  in  a  deep  breath  but  her  eyes  snapped  open  at  drew's  words,  eyebrows  furrowing  as  she  watched  him  step  closer  to  fee.  taken  aback  was  an  understatement,  his  boldness  brought  her  eyes  to  widen  and  something  to  stir  inside  her.  a  normal  person  would  probably  feel  some  type  of  envy  of  seeing  them  kiss  right  in  front  of  her  or  they  would  walk  away  and  offer  them  privacy  to  work  it  out,  but  sloane  wasn't  that  type  of  person  apparently  —  not  with  them  —  and  she  didn't  do  any  of  that  or  felt  anything  negative  but  the  need  to  move  in.  gaze  settled  on  them,  watching  them  move  together,  offering  them  time  but  no  privacy  from  her,  teeth  nibbling  at  her  lower  lip  as  drew's  words  echoed  in  her  head  '  fuck  it  '  she  sighed  as  she  moved  a  hand  to  drew's  nape  and  pulled  him  away  from  the  blonde  slightly  just  enough  to  make  room  for  herself  but  still  let  him  linger  close,  placing  her  other  hand  over  his  on  fee's  face  slightly  higher  so  she  could  touch  both  at  the  same  time,  offered  a  look  at  drew  with  a  little  smile  after  licking  her  lips  to  apologise  for  cutting  him  short  and  turned  to  fee,  leaning  and  capturing  the  blonde's  lips  with  her  own. @icedruins

her teasing breaks through, causing the tension to ease and a chuckle to be heard. “  fuck you, no i'm not a virgin. ” logically, he hadn't been sure why he stopped things with sloane, perhaps a part of him worried about crossing the line between friendship and intimacy, valuing their dynamic enough to not test the waters. “  it's lola. i don't know, i'm overthinking it.   ”

she  shakes  him  lightly  by  the  shoulders  "  already  gave  you  the  chance,  buddy.  "  she  continues  the  joke  "  then  what's  your  problem  ?  got  many  complaints  about  being  shit  ?  "  a  hand  moves  to  cradle  his  face,  squeezing  his  cheeks,  perhaps  to  get  him  out  of  his  head  or  maybe  she  was  just  a  little  tipsy  and  got  handsier  than  usual.  she  groans  and  throws  her  head  back  "  elijah,  come  on.  exactly  it's  lola  ...  you  don't  have  to  overthink  it.  haven't  you  already  done  it  ?  "

"  keep  dreaming,  monroe,  layla's  much  better  than  yours.  "  she  offers,  letting  go  of  the  bottle  as  he  takes  it,  she  could  complain  about  it  but  she  has  learned  that  with  him  is  exactly  what  he  is  looking  for  so  she  just  takes  the  bottle  back  as  he  offers  "  i'm  not,  you  are.  "  she  swirls  the  liquid  around  and  shrugs  "  right,  cause  you're  such  a  generous  person.  "  arches  an  eyebrow  "  you're  questioning  my  taste  ?  "  she  points  at  herself  with  the  bottle  "  i  never  thought  of  you  as  a  joker,  but  here  you  are  making  one.  ha,  funny.  "

words die against tongue . can't pretend not to know you . " oh . " mouth curves around the sound after a moment . jokes about her height were common , unable to bother her , until the two of them seemed to come at once , like a tag team that just seemed to dig at her chest a little bit . a tandem dig that she'd heard a milion times and just seems to hurt that little bit more . " fuck you both . " the furrow between brows smooths out as best it can as she inhales , knowing that if he wants a drink , the sink filled with cans was directly between the pair .

" well , momma didn't raise a quitter i guess . " and with that noah sunk back the shot like he was racing himself , or his nerves , a shudder rippling through him at the taste . "  i  try  my  best.  "  she  jokes  and  smiles  up  at  him,  free  hand  patting  his  chest  as  he  throws  arm  around  her  "  ah  that's  why  i  love  momma  reed  !  "  sloane  raises  her  glass  before  downing  it,  her  face  twisting  as  the  alcohol  burns  down  her  throat  "  hey,  don't  knock  all  tequila  because  of  this  shitty  frat  tequila.  but  yeah  it  was  awful.  "  she  chuckles  "  want  another  ?  "

that's the thing about cain . every word dripped from lips is coated in honey , thick and syrup like as it curls around her . and she'd be damned if she didn't thrive beneath them . dark eyes turn upwards , large hand pulling her forward by throat as a dark smirk twisting into place , a soft gasp and fingers pinching further . she wasn't stubborn , she'd happily give him what he wants , but the game they play , the subtle to not so subtle game of cat and mouse spurs her on . leaning close , tip of tongue peaking outwards to swipe against his lip , back arched inward . " so clever with your words baby . " cooed softly , grinning wickedly . " prove it . "
