Tonight's @meltdown_show poster is by the dude who has created some of my all-time favorite band shirts / posters, @derekdeal! They call him the King of Color, Lord Bold, and Sergeant Tasteful Halftones. Printing this was extremely satisfying. When I used to tour with @awilhelmscreamofficial I would always stare at the shirts he designed - and to be able to print his work has me a'glowin. Thank you for doing this, Derek. This week's @meltdown_show poster is by my friend and yours - @geoffreytice! We met when the show was still in its first couple years and Geoff would always be the happiest dude coming out of the show each week. Then he got an amazing design JON out in Denver and he's been crushing it out in the mountains since. This was a damn hoot to print - I've been a fan of Ryan's since I saw his series of nostalgic American scenes with dogs shitting in the background, the Treasury of Shitting Dogs. Truly one of the greatest bits of art/printmaking I've ever held in my two hands. This weeks @meltdown_show poster is by Jay Ryan aka @thebirdmachine. I can't believe I'm typing this. It doesn't really seem true... But it is and it's super super great. Jay Ryan. I'll try and keep the shmaltz to a minimum but damn... This is the tops. I have been collecting Jay's work since before I even knew what printmaking was. I just loved his art and the bands he made it for. Once I started printing it became clear that my appreciation for his work was deeper than just "I like animals and Hum". Having him do this poster is something else. I'll have these on sale after the show on Wednesday and he will have his own edition soon, on French's cement green (which isn't really green at all...). This weeks @meltdown_show poster was designed by the man himself @dandanmccarthy! I still can't believe he agreed to do one - the idea of printing Dan's work kept me up at night and in the end it was a damn delight. If you haven't seen his work - rub your eyes first - wipe off those specs - and then order all of his prints so you have something to grab when your house inevitably burns down from the heat produced by his detail and color work.
