Unfortunately this is how the world is. Eventually we could get to the point where everyone asks everyone what their pronouns are and shit, but right now? Everything is gendered. I'd rather have people use that to my advantage than make it obvious I'm trans.

Some people need to go stealth for safety. Some do it simply because they prefer it. That isn't a bad thing.

TLDR: Please stop shaming stealth trans people. We just want to alleviate our own dysphoria and we aren't trying to appease society. That's just how society is right now. We're using that to our advantage.

neogenders perplex the fuck out of me for this very reason. being trans is *not* a choice and mentally, trans people are born as their correct gender. with that in mind, it is straight up ridiculous to argue that people can be born "faegender" or "trigender" or anything of that sort, so why the hell do people identify with them? this is where the gentle reminder that gender identity isn't just a fun section to add to your bio comes in.

when it comes to neopronouns, while, yes, trans people's correct pronouns are more comfortable to them, pronouns don't soley exist for comfort or expression and they *do* equal gender. another thing that i think adds to this is the perpetuation of the term "preferred pronouns." because, especially in relation to trans people, pronouns *aren't* preferred they're mandatory. why in the fresh fuck would you call someone by any pronoun other than the one that matches their gender? even across languages, pronouns denote the gender of the subject they're referring to. to say otherwise is blantantly ignorant. hell, you take any beginning spanish course and the first lesson is pronouns and their denoted gender.

and that's one of the reasons he/him lesbians are such an issue. you can't claim to go by he/him while simultaneously being a woman in present day due to a "disconnect from femininity," because she and her aren't feminine terms, they're *female* terms. if you feel so disconnected from femininity call yourself fucking butch or something! by extension, the argument that pronouns do not equal gender, ignoring the blatant ignorance, quite clearly advocates the nonexistence of misgendering via pronouns (a transphobic notion) and the idea that calling trans people by their agab's pronouns isn't transphobic (another transphobic notion). there's a point to be made about the horseshoe theory here but i've already written a 3 point essay here so i'll spare you the words.

in conclusion or tl;dr gender and sexuality aren't personality traits or "comfort labels," they're just inherent aspects of a person like race or eye color. and instead of putting 6 sets of pronouns and a neogender, put your favorite aesthetics in your bio or some shit :o).
