run boy run | caroline&tyler
With a neck cramp and whiskey spilled along his jeans, Tyler had not woken in a pleasant way. His head hurt and better yet, his nose hurt. It took a moment or two for Tyler to remember how to breathe and then to remember the nightâs events. He had left after practice, went to dinner, and somehow ran into Caroline, wanting his homework done. His gambling nature had gotten the best of him and had somehow gotten his nose thrown into a wall or something (a punch, more like it, from Caroline herself, but Tyler wasnât ready to come to terms with that yet). He had also, by some miracle, wound up crashing in the feisty blondeâs bedroom which explained why his neck felt it was going to break with one wrong turn.
Gaining enough courage to sit up, he ran his hands through his short hair and then painfully opened his eyes, looking around the inhumanly clean room. No sign of Caroline. It figured the girl was an early riser. Nothing else would make sense. After taking his time to regain his bearings, Tyler exited Carolineâs bedroom and went on with his day, only realizing till after he sat in his first class that he had never indeed done his homework and without doubt, Stilinski had not done it for him. That kid was a pain in his ass.
Nonetheless, Tylerâs time passed quickly and before he was aware of it, dinner was being served. The room was packed as it always was, since the Dauntless werenât shy about their love for food. He hadnât seen Caroline all day, had only thought about her a little (his chemistry class had been extremely boring and what better way to fill the time than thinking of Caroline getting all gutsy against him in a different way then her previous ways last night), and hadnât thought about the results of the bet until he met her gaze across the hall.
Without pausing, Tyler stood and shouted, gaining the majority of Dauntlessâ attentions. Without further ado, he spoke loudly and clearly: âAttention, all you Dauntless bastards,â obviously already winning the crowd with his charm, he went on, âit is under agreement that I must announce that Caroline Forbes bested me in a fight last night and because of her, my perfect nose has been ruined.â The crowd had a reaction to this, jeering at Tyler, but he only smiled and waited till the noise quieted down a bit to speak again. âBut fear not, for her or my reputation as a man â something Iâm interested in protecting â Caroline made sure that I was okay after said fight. She nursed me up and I might even talked her into wearing a nurseâs uniform after spending the night in her bedroom last night,â and with his last word, he winked for extra effect, and while the continued their jeerings, they were more suggestive that they were before, and far more vulgar. Tyler laughed as he stepped down from where he had gained height, and after pushing off a few of his teammates who were giving him shit, Tyler looked for Caroline, almost half afraid to see her reaction because for a moment, he wondered if she would find this as funny as he did.
