This post will me comparing the parallels between rowan and lyria and elucien and their mating bonds . this will contain throne of glass spoilers so if you have not read the books please scroll away.
Rowan and lyriaās story is something that was tragic but the way they met was the most interesting part and is very similar to Elain and Lucien. Rowan and lyria met at a the market where he instantly knew they were mates. Rowan had felt the bond the moment he laid eyes on her and that was exactly how to it was for Lucien. After the cauldron had turned Elain into Fae Lucien looked at her face instantly knew they were mates.
Now with lyria and Elain they are very similar and Sjm had used the same exact words to describe them . It was stated how lyria sold flowers at the market and Elain Also garden and plants flowers but the parallels between the two of them are outstanding and sjm did this intentionally. Lyria is described as kind and quiet āshe has been gentle, and sweet, and quiet, and a kind. A different sort of strengthā. Elain is always described as kind and gentle, and light, even feyre herself had said Elain had been the strongest out of all of us but sjm used the same exact words for Elain and lyria. Here is the quote.
With Rowan and Lucien using similar words to describe their mating bond with lyria and Rowan. With Lucien it was a constant struggle with the mating and he usually speaks of the mating bond with Elain in a negative way. In chapter 24 of acowar Lucien describes jesminda and compares her to Elain but the words he used weāre very interesting. Lucien says ā she had chosen him, Elain had been thrown at himā also uses similar words and says ābut not what he had chosen for himselfā. There also a quote in acosf where Lucien says ā Iām not always in the city to see my mate. The last two words dripped with discomfortā. With the mating bond both Rowan and Lucien felt a tug on the bond, Maeve had made Rowan feel the tug on the bond and Lucien had felt it with Elain. ā thereās a bond- itās s real threadā, ā it was easy to tug on the right physical thread they day Rowan saw lyriaā. Rowan also talked about how difficult it was to court lyria and it was the same with Lucien and he even said to feyre ā I canāt stand to be in the same room as herā, I donāt want to be shackled to herā. The bond used negatively when it is described with lyria and Elain and it is very different from the way feysand, Nessian, and Rowaelins bonds were described ,and itās also interesting that all of sjm main couples that were mates fell in love before they found out about the bond and it was not like that with Rowan and Lucien.
Now Iām going to get into Maeve and the cauldron and how they are similar. With the cauldron we know how is powerful and it is and how it created the acotar universe and with Maeve we were aware of how powerful she was and she was able to fake the bond between Rowan and lyria without anyone knowing. It was also mentioned how much the caldron loved Elain and how it gifted her with powers because of how lovely she was , and we know how it purred in her presence. Since Maeve was able to fake a mating bond itās possible that the caldron did the same thing. In acowar right before We found out Elain was a seer madja said only can a mate can find out whatās wrong and how itās a brige between two souls and feyre later described the truth teller that Az gave Elain as a brige between them and she imagined a painting of it. Donāt you think thatās itās odd Elainās mate couldnāt find out what was going on with her but that Az did and how madja said the mating bond is a bridge between two souls but Lucien said it was just a thread? Lucien is a fae and he grew up with knowing how the mating bond works and knows itās importance and history but he did not know what was going on with Elain but Az did. There also a conversation Rhys and feyre had about About Az and Elain potentially being mates and Rhys talk about how the mating is not a love match and is based on who you can reproduce better with and he brings up his parents and tamlins parents and their failed relationship and how they were wrong for each other.with Maeve faking the mating bond and Az being almost dead when Elain was turned far, and Lucien becoming her mate itās a big possibility that Lucien is Elainās fake mate and that Az could potentially be her real mate. The parallels from tog and acotar and sjm confirming that having two mates is possible and her not confirming it or denying when Steph brought up the two mates thing it is 100% possible. ā the cauldron purred in Elainās presenceā, ā Elainās eyes brows twitched towards each other. The queen with the features of flame. The shadowsinger angled his head. Lucien muttered to me, eyes still fixed on Elain, should we -does she need?she doesnāt need anything Azriel answered without so much as looking at Lucien. Elain was starting at the spy master now - unblinkingly.weāre the ones who need... Azriel trailed off. The cauldron made you a seer.ā
One last thing before I end this post Azriel can smell eluciens mating bond and canāt stand the smell of it. He also said āthe third was give to the another ā and Maeve said āso your mate was given to anotherā . I think that speaks for itself.

The two greatest kingdoms in the world are at war: the Kingdom of Talia, ruled by the Almighty King Toshinori and the Kingdom of New Eri, ruled with an explosive iron fist by the Dragon King Katsuki Bakugou.Ā This generational war has lasted for hundredsĀ of years and everyone grows tired of the fighting, yet no one wants to surrender.Ā Because of this, the two Kingdoms cannot fathom an end in sight.Ā That is, until the Prince Izuku Midoriya of Talia is brought before the Dragon King. Ā Now that the Prince is within Eriās grasp, the Kingdom of New Eri may win.
But the Prince isĀ thoughtful and kind, brave and sympathetic, considerate and undeniably fearless.Ā Ā Katsuki is completely enraged by these noble qualities, but also undeniably entranced by them. Ā The situation is suddenly more difficult, and someone has to be held accountable for all the Erian deaths, including Lord Kaminari, a close friend to the Dragon King. Ā Ā
Everyone just wants the war to end. Ā But after years of fighting, generations of betrayal and anger and bloodshed, the end might not be as easy as everyone hopes it will be. Ā Ā
Hello to all!Ā Thank you so much for your patience, but a new chapter is up!Ā Izukuās book has a new edition--itās short, but I promise there is more to come! Thank you for waiting and I hope you enjoy it!Ā
Part 3: Tribute to Queen Mitsuki Bakugou, leader and service to the Cause of Eri
The Civil War in Eri was quick and decisive.Ā It had to be after fighting Talia for nearly 500 years, new action needed to be taken.Ā There were talks and rumors of surrendering to Talia and the soldiers were having none of it.Ā Especially General Mitsuki, later known as Mitsuki Bakugou after marrying Masaru Bakugou, who was said to be one of the greatest Erian assets during her time commanding numerous sectors of the Erian military. Ā She wasnāt a duelist, but a strategist and a marked one at that.Ā Even in Talia, people marveled at her ability to recover and bounce back even harder.Ā She had the formal education until her 18th birthday, when it was her time to enlist in the military.Ā It was here where she truly shined and rose through the ranks rapidly.
King Romero Aizawa IV was insane, they said.Ā He listened to no one, they said, but was quick to blame others for the mistakes Eri made upon the battlefield.Ā He made one rash decision after another, costing countless lives on the Erian side.
The Civil War lasted less than a day.Ā Some hardly called war at all.Ā There was much infighting between the nobility and those who were fighting on the front lines.Ā Most of the time, the Generals stayed away from the battlefield, but made decisions based on reports from the only General that would fight alongside her soldiersāMitsuki.Ā Some say she spread the rumor herself that Eri was to bow to Talia, especially after the brutal battle that took out nearly 30% of the Erian military.
Mitsukiās lost many people in those years.Ā Eri was losing soldier after soldier, platoon after platoon, company after company and soon after, an entire battalion was lost under the Kingās orders.Ā And thus, the Civil War had begun.
Mitsukiās battalion carried the infantry and marched to Frostgate, directly outside the walls of the castle that the king and his lordship lived.Ā They were wearing the Erian colorsāRed and Goldābut the gold had been smeared with the color white.Ā General Mitsuki had taken her place on the front lines like she always had and soldiers filed in lines of rows and columns, putting their life on the line against the Aizawan Family.Ā
āWe will not surrender to Talia!Ā We fight for Eri and Eri alone!Ā Last chance, Aizawa!ā she had screamed up to him.Ā āYou can surrender to me or Iāll have your head!ā
āTraitorous bitchā,ā; āDisloyal cuntā,ā; āUseless whoreā,ā; but Mitsuki ignored them as they spat the insults.Ā Her eyes were completely narrowed on King Aizawa and the crown atop his head.
The battle didnāt last long.Ā Fourty minutes and the Aizawan Court was in disarray, completely ruined.Ā Frostgate had been pillaged as the battalion had torn it apart.Ā There, at the Front Gate of the ruins was Mitsuki, holding up the head of a bastard they called King.Ā His children had been slaughteredāall but one, the Heir Aizawa to Talia or the False King by Eri.
And the Dark Queen had taken her throne.Ā There, upon her head, sat the bloodied crown of the old King, and a new Kingdom, a New Eri, was born.Ā
Her first orders were to bury only those who had splattered the half of the gold cape in white.Ā Let the others rot and the monsters feast on their flesh in the Frosthall Ruins.Ā She brought a new army forward, training an elite force of them herself.Ā She had beheaded so many traitors to her reign and began anew Courtship.Ā
A Prince was born.Ā The Dark Queenās sonāthe Dragon King.

Hello to all!Ā A very happy holidays to those who are celebrating!
A new chapter of Kingdoms at WarĀ is here on tumblr and here on AO3.Ā A few TW: talks of war, talks of killing Bakugou, masturbation.Ā Just more angst in this chapter really.Ā
Thank you all to those who have been reading my work.Ā I love writing and itās amazing to see that (even when I just reblog someoneās photo and put some dialogue underneath) people will still like it.Ā You all are a true gift to me.
I wrote this particular chapter at the beginning of the month and totally forgot about it.Ā If something feels weird or off about it, never fear!Ā Iām constantly going back and editing my work.Ā Ā

**In Talia, at the Aizawa Mansion in the Countryside**
I look down to see the Erian Crest looking back up at me.Ā Ā
And then at the Prince, whoās anxiously awaiting a response from me.Ā āYour Graceā¦ā I begin and fell onto my knees.Ā My stomach churned. āI-I donāt know what to sayā,āĀ
āWhy donāt you just start at the beginning?ā he cocked his head, the golden crown of the Prince not moving as he did so.Ā Ā
That crown was more than a symbol of peace here in Talia.Ā It represented to Talia who was going to be the next ruler of Talia, but of all the Kingdoms in the world.Ā It had been passed down from leader to leader since Talia herself.Ā When Queen Nana passed it to her successor, Yagi of the House of Toshinori, and not her son, there was an unusual shift in the court.Ā King Toshinori could have passed that mark down to anyone and with the amount of wealth the Todoroki family had, it should have been passed down to one of Lord Todorokiās children.Ā But the King still passed it down to his son, the Prince.Ā The Marking of the Crown, a traditional sort of ceremony where the Golden Crown is given from Leader to Successor, was given to Prince Midoriya instead of any one of the Todoroki children.Ā This did not please Lord Todoroki, despite all the donations their father gave to Talia and the amount of effort he made in the war.
I hate him, I think.Ā Iām glad his children will never reign this kingdom.
Still, I looked at that crown and its golden sheen threaded through the princeās hair.Ā Heās beautiful in this moment and it was hard to deny it.Ā The Prince was regal with his bright blue Talian uniform, the equally bright red capeānot like the deep burgundy one I wore to Eri.Ā The crown was what forced me to my knees.Ā He held all the power in that moment.Ā Ā
When I said nothing, the Prince shook his head.Ā āIām just a little confused.ā he said.Ā āAs to why one of my Generals, someone I handpicked myself, is wearing an Erian soldiers uniform.Ā Please, start at the beginning and weāll go from there.ā
āTo Lord Todoroki, you mean?ā I said, but quickly stopped.Ā The golden crown that sat atop his head glimmered to me and I could do nothing but look away from it.Ā Ā
āI donāt know.Ā You havenāt told me anything.āĀ
No.Ā The voice in my head echoed.Ā I heard them, swarming me, enveloping around me like the voice of a thousand Gods.Ā I will use this gift, this power, everything the Lantern King gave me until the day I fucking die.Ā āWhat could I possibly say that would ensure my safety?āĀ He remained quiet, however.Ā Not even moving as those continued to yell at him, Fucking say something!Ā He remained quiet.Ā Quiet long enough for the voices to stop.Ā āI will not go back to Todorokiās prison.Ā Not now, not ever.Ā You will answer my questions if I have toā,āĀ
āLord Shinsou,ā he raised a hand, silencing me immediately.Ā āYou will also answer my questions first and if I am satisfied, then I will answer your questions.Ā Do you understand?āĀ
I did.Ā Heād forget everything if he knew what happened.Ā He gave his permission to let me force him to forget.
āShinsou!ā a voice came over my shoulder.Ā Aizawa was running quickly, wrapping his scarf around his neck.Ā āYour Grace, please, if youāll let us explainā,āĀ Ā
āAh,ā the Prince said, smiling as Aizawa kneeled in front of him, next to me.Ā āAnd the Heir Aizawa knows too, I assume?ā he rubbed his brow, wiping sweat as he stepped into the sunlight.Ā Ā
āWould you like to go inside, Your Grace?Ā You are more than welcome toā,āĀ
āIād like to stay out here.ā
We both just nod.Ā āAs you wish, Your Grace.ā
āExcellent.Ā Now Shinsou, this will be the last time I ask.Ā Start.Ā From.ā His eyes narrowed down on me, the crown now fully facing me, wreathed through the Princeās hair.Ā āThe beginning.ā
āI fell in love, Your Grace.ā I told them both.Ā āWith an Erian soldier.Ā I just got back from a festival that was held on your birthday in Nezu.ā
He didnāt tear his eyes away from me, nor I from him.Ā āHow did you meet?ā
I told him.Ā I told him about the river, the few nights we shared since then and about the festival trip that was cut short by Aizawaās letter.Ā I told him the couple things Iād learned, about Commander Jirou being in the forest to gain trust by the Erian court because of her father that remained here.Ā I also shared the little information of the Dragon King and about their forces being able to mobilize quickly.Ā I said it all to the Prince, tears streaming down my face.Ā Ā
He stood there, unmoving, his arms crossed over the Talian crest.Ā The bright cape ebbed and flowed with the wind, as did his dark green hair.Ā āAnd what have you shared about Talia with this soldier?ā
āAbout my familyās death.Ā About me becoming a young Lord andā,ā I swallowed.Ā āHe thought I was still under Todoroki, but I told him that I felt more comfortable being with Aizawa.ā
āIs that all?āĀ
I know that question.Ā Iād heard it less than three days ago from Denki.Ā āOur time was limited.Ā Aizawa isnāt the type to pull me away without it being important and I left a couple hours after I received the letter.āĀ
āIs that the only thing you told him?ā
āHeāI implied how much I despise Todoroki, but I didnāt tell him what exactly took place.ā It was hard for me to relay that information to even Aizawa.
āVery well.ā the Prince said, exhaling deeply.Ā āIām placing all my trust in what youāre telling me, Lord Shinsou.Ā And,ā he sighed heavily, his shoulders dropping.Ā āI will permit Shinsou to ask his questions.āĀ
Aizawa stared at him.Ā āYour Grace, are you sure?āĀ
āYes.Ā I didnāt hear anything too incriminating.Ā Weāve guessed at most of the things that Shinsou has said and I have no doubt you can give the others some of the information about Lord Jirouās child at the next war meeting.Ā You can say you saw her and she escaped. Besides,ā the Prince smiled.Ā āI think I wouldnāt mind being brainwashed for a few hours.Ā To take my mind off the war, as Shinsou claims this soldier does for him.āĀ
I stood up, narrowing my gaze at the Prince.Ā Ā
And voices began once again, echoing around in my head.Ā āYour Grace, Prince Midoriya, are you sure this is what you want?āĀ
āYes.ā There was no hesitation.Ā I quickly reached into his mind, into the very depths of him, but I was met by a wall.Ā An entire wall, completely impenetrable in his mind, unrelenting to the voices I placed in his head.Ā I tried again and again, but the more I rammed into the barrier, the harder it became.Ā It pushed and pushed until I was completely broken and shoved the echoes of the voices back into my own mind.Ā Ā
It was the first time Iād ever heard my ability and it made me delirious for a moment.Ā A flicker of a memory passed into me and I screamed, calling out to my mother and was met by two strong arms to keep my from falling against the ground.
When my eyes opened, Aizawaās confused face looked down at me.Ā I was equally confused, but then grew angry until I saw his eyes were the same brown, his hair waved down past his shoulders.Ā It wasnāt him who stopped me?Ā I stared back at the Prince.Ā āYour Grace.ā I breathed.Ā Iād always been able to reach into someone, control them like little puppets.Ā Iād been used, rummaged, manipulated by the Talian court for this ability.Ā But the Prince had not been affected and threw my own gift back at me.Ā Within his mind, I was met by something hard, rigid, impassable.Ā Ā
The first person Iād ever met to not yield to my power from the Lantern King.Ā
āMy ability.ā was all the Prince said.Ā āis far greater than yours, it would seem.āĀ He took a few steps forward, clapping a hand to my shoulder as he passed.Ā āI wonāt tell anyone about this.Ā You have my word.āĀ I turned to face him, but he didnāt look back as he said, āYouāre still needed at the castle, Shinsou.Ā Change out of that clothing.Ā Burn it, bury it, I donāt care.Ā But youāre my friend, so Iāll give you this warning: not all powers come from the Lantern King.ā
Out of complete fear, I bowed.Ā I waited until the Prince was out of my line of sight, until I could no longer see the gold shine in his crown before looking to Aizawa.Ā His face was full of fear like a father who could do little to protect his child.Ā Ā
āIs that true?Ā Are there people who have powers that arenāt Children of the Lantern King?āĀ
He nodded.Ā Ā
āAnd the Prince?Ā Heās one of them?āĀ
Another nod.
āHow many others are like him?ā
āSo far, the only two families Iāve met,ā Aizawa said.Ā āare the Prince and the Todoroki family.ā
KATSUKI
*Present Day*
āKacchan!ā Deku says, getting up from his seat.Ā He pointed to an article from one of the several Erian papers that are laid out before him.Ā Heās taken a liking to reading several, but has come to realize that the knowledge I have is more extensive.Ā āIs this true?Ā Has Todoroki banked south?ā
I shake my head.Ā āNot that Iāve heard.Ā Which paper are you reading?āĀ He shows me the cover and I bark out a laugh.Ā āNo, no.Ā That paperās full of shit.Ā Theyāll write anything if it brings in more readers.ā
āBut this one said the sameā,ā he scrambles around, picks up another paper, but then looks between the two.Ā āāshit, nevermind.Ā Itās the same writer.ā He pauses, but then crinkles the paper before sitting back down, sipping his tea.Ā āIt definitely draws the attention of the reader, though.Ā In Talia, we outlaw such things.āĀ
āWriting?ā I tease.
He crinkles his nose at me.Ā āNo, but journalists arenāt allowed to write about things that are untrue.āĀ Ā
Itās not a bad law to have, but it definitely limits what the journalists can write about.Ā I also like hearing the opinions of the people in my Kingdom, especially when it comes to the war.Ā Ā
āOh, I almost forgot!āĀ He stirs his tea gently and places the spoon facing down on the plate under the cup.Ā It clinks perfectly, barely making a sound.Ā āI have another question you should be asking.ā
āAnd what question is that?ā He has my undivided attention.Ā Ā
āWhat Talia is planning after theyā,ā he clears his throat.Ā āDethrone you?Ā Like what they might be planning for the Heir Aizawa.āĀ
I hiss hearing that name.Ā Ā
Here in Eri, they call him the āFalse Kingā.Ā Talia calls Aizawa the āTrue Heirā and even now, there are rumors floating that he will one day take the throne.Ā Like Shinsou, Aizawa had switched as well, but now he fights for Talia.Ā It was many years ago, before I was born.Ā Still, hearing Deku call him āHeir Aizawaā angered me.Ā I try to control the heat in my body, but I can feel it rising.Ā Strategically, if Talia manages to overtake the Capitol and kill me, it makes sense to place Aizawa on the throne of Eri.Ā Ā
Before my mother took the throne, sheād slaughtered all of them after the Aizawa family had made poor judgement call after poor judgement call.Ā Itād happened again and again.Ā When Queen Nana didnāt give her son the throne and gave it to King Toshinori, my mother followed suit, but decided to take things into her own hands.Ā In a single night, she slaughtered the Aizawa Family and almost brought a civil war into Eri.Ā Ultimately, her entire section of the army backed her, which led to her reign on the throne. After her death, I remember the members of her own High Court whispering to bring one boy, Shouta Aizawa, almost 25 at the time, back to the throne.
If Talia was to get their wish, they would surely bring their āHeirā back to the Erian throne under King Toshinori.Ā Ā
It is truly his after allā¦Ā
āNO!ā I yell and the sweat in my palm ignites.Ā Deku grabs my hands and balls them into a fist, wincing through the pain of a tiny explosion that released from me.Ā āI know what they plan to do if I am to die.Ā My own court has even thought of it.ā
āWhen would they have discussed something like that?ā he whispers.Ā Iām feel the words as his lips move brush my fingers.Ā I live for the moments like this, especially when we know weāre completely alone.Ā I used to hate it because nothing came of them, but now I love them, cherish these small moments we get together.Ā I love the feeling when his pink lips graze my hand so soft like a ghost whispering through the night.Ā My heart skips before thumping loudly and I hope he can hear it too.Ā He raises my hand and quietly, gently kisses the fingers of my closed fist.Ā Ā
āAfter my motherās death.Ā Some wanted to kill me and ask for Aizawan leadership again, as my mother was the one who really betrayed the throne.āĀ
āHow did you live?āĀ
It was an outburst.Ā Upon hearing them discuss how they would kill meā āGive him over to Talia!ā, āLeave him to the monsters in Grice!ā, āCut off his head and be done with it!āāI screamed.Ā Iād just watched my parents scorched to death in hot blue flames, flames that I had survived and they still meant to kill me?Ā I screamed for those Iād lost, for the family that Iād never see again.Ā Ā
For the promise these people, my so-called āalliesā, were going to take away from me.
I screamed so loud, it moved the ground, shattering everything around us.Ā An explosion of anger and fear, of resentment and loathing, surged out of me.Ā The ones around me were engulfed and left only as smoke.Ā The others, some with the gifts of the Lantern King and some without, were killed and the only ones left were those who remained loyal to my family.Ā To me.
Since that moment, Iāve been nicknamed the Dragon King.Ā āI just showed them my loyalty to the Eri my mother created.ā
āIām sorry, Kacchan,ā he apologizes again, whispering into my knuckles.Ā āI shouldnāt have brought it up.Ā I just thought you should know.Ā I would want to know.āĀ The words are light, like whisps of clouds, matching the tone of his face.Ā Heās trying to calm me from the sudden anger moments ago without knowing it left as quickly as it came.Ā I donāt tell him as his lips continue to explore the back of my hand.Ā He sinks to one knee and I open my palm that has been neglected.
I cannot take another moment with my hands not touching him.Ā I take a step closer to him and his eyes gaze up at me.Ā I run my hand through the thick curls of his hair, squeezing them to arch his back even more.
āOh.ā His eyes shoot open and his hands cover his mouth.Ā He turns his eyes away from me and I smile internally when his cheeks are flushed with a bright, rose color.Ā I gesture for him to get up and rises to his feet, still averting my gaze thatās fixed on him.
I begin to unbutton his jacket slowly, working each of them through the fabric of the coat.Ā When I finish, I lick my lips, knowing what lies beneath the shirt underneath.Ā I gently peel the jacket off his shoulders, which are broader than I had thought.Ā Ā
Not as broad as mine, I reassured myself, but he helps me to pull it off.Ā I couldnāt tear my eyes away from his chest, but I keep my eyes away from his pants.
āDo you want my shirt too?ā he begins to lift the shirt, his pale skin revealing freckles down his stomach and beyond.Ā Ā
Yes!Ā I want to be the one to warm you.Ā But I swallowed back my desperation, only managing to say the word, āNot unless you want to give it to me.ā I wrap the jacket around my body, his soft scent lingering in the fur of the hood.Ā Ā
āKacchan.ā his voice warns.
He still shakes his head?Ā I release a breath of frustration, but compose myself.Ā He wants it.Ā I know he wants it.Ā Why does he deny it?Ā Ā
I canāt think about it any longer.Ā If he wants to take it farther, heāll tell me.Ā āOkay.ā I say to him, trying to keep my mind from wandering too far.Ā āLetās talk about Talia.ā
We do, sitting back down.Ā He talks of things I mostly know: that Lord Todoroki and Lord Aizawa are in command of two sectors of the main army.Ā There are several Lords and Ladies that are underneath of them as well, in charge of their own segments of the armies, but they always answer to Todoroki or Aizawa.Ā The youngest Todoroki son, the Dragon Tamerāfuck, I hate that nameāanswers to Aizawa, though, I find that odd.Ā He continues on, though and I make a note to question it later.
āIf multiple people are in charge of multiple segments of the military,ā he says.Ā āThen it becomes harder to predict their movements.āĀ
Itās true, though we have a bit of a different system that was set up by my mother.Ā At the top is the King; underneath that is the Generals, the High Lordship; and underneath them are the Commanders who are in charge of their large groups of soldiers.Ā Any issues within the military are brought up through the chain.Ā Itās efficient enough for us, but with multiple people in charge of multiple different segments at different times then things become more unpredictable for the enemy.
I was quiet for too long.Ā āKacchan?ā I hear him say, almost a whisper.Ā He shivers and I get up, handing him back his jacket.Ā He smiles when he puts it on.Ā Ā
That fucking smile.Ā I can no longer stop myself.Ā I fuckingāI canāt hold it any moreāI look around the room and pound at the door.Ā A guard comes in.Ā āBring him back to the room.āĀ
I donāt look at his face, but he calls to me again: āKacchan!āĀ
I walk away, as fast as my feet will let me.Ā I donāt hear what the guards tell him, but I get myself inside an empty room, slamming the door shut.Ā Everything in my body feels hot.Ā I canāt slow down my breathing.Ā The warmth of my breaths puff out like fogs of smoke from a chimney.Ā I lean my forehead against the cold door, ripping open my shirt, hoping that the cold of winter will brush against my skin, but it only makes my chest hum violently at the sound of ripping clothes.Ā Sweat drips from every ounce of porous skin, saliva from my tongue onto the floor beneath me.Ā Ā
I can bare it no longer.
I pull at the strings of my leather pants and squeeze my dick, only thinking of Dekuās flushed cheeks, so red it hides a few of his freckles inked on his skin.Ā I think of what it would feel like to thrust myself into his throat, the wet sopping noises it would make, the feel of Deku as he sucked from base to tip and back down again for more.Ā Ā
āDekuā¦ā I hear myself growl, spitting into my hand to massage myself and think of nothing but him beneath me, touching me, moaning loudly for more.Ā My body spins around and curve my back against the door, my head flying back.Ā I want him.Ā I want him so badly, the pain heats my entire body.Ā I can barely hear the hums of my chest over my own fantasies of Dekuās loud cries, his begging mixed with my own cruel, ruthless desire of dreamlike euphoria existing only in this moment.Ā I close my eyes, my arm moving faster, my hand squeezing harder, but harder was my want for Deku to be here with me.Ā āKacchanā¦ā heād say.Ā āPleaseā¦ā heād moan.Ā āFuck meā¦ā heād beg.Ā And Iād be obliged to it all.Ā Ā
āI live for you and only you.ā I say, unable to tell if itās aloud or from deep within.Ā My knees nearly buckle when I feel the orgasm spill out of me, my legs still shaking and finally, my legs give out entirely and I sink to the floor, my breath still uneasy.Ā I wait for the humming in my chest to rest and when it finally does, I open my eyes and reality sets back in.Ā Ā
I look at the empty room before me, the wind howling outside the shut windows.Ā Finally, I take a deep breath in, but I donāt move.Ā Ā
For the first time in my life, I thought of something other than the war.Ā For those long minutes that past, I thought of Deku and only Deku.Ā Not as the Prince of my enemyāI hadnāt even thought of Talia at all.Ā No.Ā Only Deku.Ā
I donāt want to move.Ā Canāt move.Ā Not away from him.Ā Ā
---Ā
āSire!ā the two guards snap to attention as I stand before my door to the bedroom.Ā I inhale a deep breath before opening the door.Ā Ā
Itās dark in the room.Ā The fire has fainted a little.Ā I scan the bed to see Deku in it, on the other side this time, where I had slept the night before.Ā The warmest part of the bed.Ā I take my shirt offāa different set of clothes than the ones Iād worn previously.Ā Iād asked a few of the servants to bring me a new set and throw those out, a little embarrassed.Ā Ā
I move quietly over to the bed and lift the covers that heās buried himself underneath.Ā But as quiet as I thought I was, I hear his small voice float over to my ears.Ā
āKacchan?āĀ
I roll over to face him.Ā āI didnāt mean to wake you.ā
āYou really didnāt.Ā I was falling asleep, but not quite there.ā he stretches before tucking himself back underneath the blankets.Ā Ā
āYou donāt get hot?Ā Underneath all of that?āĀ
He chuckles and shakes his head.Ā āNo.Ā Though I didnāt anticipate how cold Eri would be in the winters.Ā Itās south of Grice, but still feels colder for some reason.ā He ponders for a moment before saying, āWhen you arenāt here.āĀ
Iām quiet, but I watch his eyes slowly close.Ā I watch his face relax.Ā And just before he falls asleep, I ask, āWould you like me to hold you?ā
His eyes snap open and stare into mine.Ā Heās quiet, too, but I let him take this moment to think.Ā āKacchan.ā he says, as though heās scolding me.Ā Ā
āDeku,ā I want to explain to him.Ā I want him to know everything.Ā That I do want him.Ā Every piece of him.Ā āI just want you to stay warm though the night.ā
Another moment of silence, but it burns.Ā I donāt move my face.Ā I donāt give him any indication I want anything else.Ā āJust holding?āĀ
āJust holding.āĀ I promise him.Ā āI hate sleeping underneath seven blankets.Ā I feel like Iām going to drown in my own sweat.Ā But you still shiver.āĀ
āOkay, Kacchan.ā he lifts the blankets and we inch towards each other.Ā He pulls his arms in and I hug him to my chest, but he lifts his head.Ā
āWhatāsāwhatās that?ā he asks.
āWhatās what?āĀ
āThat sound?āĀ
It takes me a moment to realize.Ā āItās a part of my gift from the Lantern King.ā I tell him.Ā āMy ability hums.Ā Iām surprised you havenāt heard it before.āĀ
He leans back against me.Ā āItās beautiful.Ā Like a song.āĀ
My body sings for him and lulls him to sleep like a lullaby.

After almost a month of waiting, I receive a letter from Commander Jirou during a war meeting.Ā Itās marked with her seal and our code is written in the letter.Ā Finally!Ā I tear it open and I hold my breath while scan it, but I only read the first line before leaving the room: Everything the Prince told us was true.Ā Ā Ā
āMajesty?ā Mina asks me, but Iām already running out of the War Meeting.Ā Ā
He didnāt lie to me.Ā I knew he wouldnāt.Ā Ā
I burst open the door to my room, the guards all gripping their weapons, but stop and bow when they immediately see me.Ā āLeave us!Ā No one is to enter this room!āĀ They did as they were instructed, saying, āSire.ā to me before rushing out of my chamber.Ā Ā
He stands up from one of the chairs, marking his page in the book he was reading.Ā āYour Highness.ā he bows playfully.Ā
āDeku.ā I whisper and before I could think about it, pull him into me, wrapping my arms around his shoulders.Ā He gasps, but then I feel cheek resting upon my chest, his own arms wrapping tightly around my waist.Ā We hold each other, our breathing becoming synchronized before I finally pull away.Ā Ā
āWhat was that for, Kacchan?ā he says, smiling through watery eyes.Ā A tear falls from one of his eyes and I brush it away from my thumb.
āA wish that I asked for came true.āĀ
His face contoured in confusion.Ā āA wish?āĀ
āYes, Deku.ā my thumb is still brushing along his cold cheek.Ā I will warm you.Ā āWill you tell me again?Ā That youāll stay by side until the war ends?āĀ
My thumb runs across his chapped lips that form a smile.Ā āKacchan, I plan on staying with you long after that.āĀ
IZUKU
I crinkled the letter against my chest, hugging it close.Ā I knew the information would be accurate, but I didnāt know how much I could trust Commander Jirou.Ā This letter is proof that people want the war to end.Ā Itās proof that people, even in New Eri, want the suffering to be over.Ā Ā
Tears fall from my eyes and I wipe them away.Ā Even before my capture, my sole mission was to speak to the Dragon King about ending the war.Ā But nowā
Iāve completely fallen for him.Ā Ā
Heās next to me.Ā It happens so fast, I donāt have a moment to react when he grabs my wrists and pulls me in close, wrapping my arms around his waist before he wraps his own around my neck.Ā He cradles me so closely I can feel his breath, so warm and smells of sweet candies. Impulsively, I lean a cheek into his chest, listening to the rhythmic sounds of his ability.Ā Our lips grow closer together, each second is far too long.Ā But when nothing happens, I feel a little annoyed, but rest my head against his shoulder, closing my eyes to enjoy this moment.
I decide to tell him.Ā Against my fatherās wishes to not tell a soul, I decide that he has a right to know everything about Talia.Ā Including their Prince.Ā In that moment, I decide itās the right time.Ā āI have another question for you to ask.āĀ
āOh?ā he says, his hands brushing against a few locks on my head.Ā
āIf I wanted to leave, I could have done it long ago.āĀ
He pulls away and looks down at me.Ā āWhat do you mean?Ā Kirishima captured you.ā
āHe captured me, yes.Ā But at any given point, I could have left.Ā Iād like you to ask me about it.ā
He sits down in one of the chairs.Ā āIs it your gift from the Lantern King?Ā Shinsou told me he canāt use his against you, but Kirishima thought it was more strength than anything else.ā
I tell him outright.Ā āI think itās time you learned about One-for-All.āĀ

Writing a few more chapters today, including Izukuās book!Ā Coming soon(ish lmao it takes me so fucking long to get there because Iām literally editing all the time).
Hi everyone!Ā Ninja here!Ā New chapter for Kingdoms at War is out.Ā Sorry itās been taking longer...this chapter is almost 14k words and no matter how many times I go back to read, I can always edit more.Ā I wanted to have it done by Izukuās birthday, but when I set a deadline, I never make it.Ā Oops.Ā
Read it here on tumblr or here on AO3.Ā Ā
I figured no one dies in this chapter (if you know, you fucking know *cries at Hori*), but the war ensues.Ā Still, we get a bit more into the bkdk side of things AND shinkami, if you like either ship.
