Hello there!! I might be a little late, but I have a question! What do you think Daryl would be like as a husband? What do you imagine daily life with him would be like? Let's set this in the Commonwealth, where life's a little more settled and less chaotic.. Do you think he'd get bored with the routine, or do you think that after so many years on the road and fighting, that's exactly what he'd need? I need details, routines, everything that beautiful Daryl-loving brain of yours can come up with!
The common wealth of as good for Daryl in my opinion.
He’s never experienced “settling down” and I think the more he was surrounded by families who were doing just that, he got more comfortable with it.
Having Daryl as your husband wouldn’t always be smooth sailing though, he’d still get grumpy but it wouldn’t be explosive, there’d be no chance of him walking out into the woods to be alone. Being in the common wealth, there’s more chance of him actually talking to you and chilling out when things get to him.
Daryl is more protective of you in the common wealth, not out of jealousy but just because there’s a lot of people he doesn’t know yet and it makes him uneasy, he likes to know where you’ll be each day.
I think he could get bored of the routine every now and then but he definitely prefers being bored sometimes over not having anywhere to call home, having somewhere he knows his family is based.
He loves having his own place with you, the privacy is great for your relationship, he manages to be more vulnerable around you, knowing no one else will get involved.
One major difference is that Daryl is comfortable talking about you to whoever asks, he’s not closed off about loving you, he’s proud that you’re his and most people know you’re together.
I think a typical working day would go like this:
Daryl gets up before you, he gets ready and lets you sleep whilst he does so. Right before leaving he makes two coffees and puts one on your bedside table for when you inevitably wake up at the sound of him locking the front door when he leaves. He leaves you a note everyday which tells you where he’s based on that day incase you need to sought him out for any reason.
Depending on the day he has, Daryl usually comes home quite tired but he always spends the evening with you, he likes to make you dinner most nights and then just chill, talk about the day. If he comes home heated then you give him some time to cool off, have a smoke, whatever he needs. Then he’ll come to you for cuddles or just to be close.
On weekends the two of you sleep in together, but Daryl still likes to get up and get stuff done, he still can’t ever fully relax.
