So, like two years ago I read this idea and I thought it was really funny so I made an OC
I named him Isaac Shepherd, he's the next Shepherd boy that appears in "The boy who cried wolf"
In my AU he kind of started like this comedy relief bcs he knows Cerise is a werewolf but no one believes him lmao; and while that's doesn't change the truth is that he now has a lot of character development.
• He started as a royal, he used to admire a lot the hunters and wanted to become a hunter once he grew up.
•He's a year younger than Raven gen.
•Most of the time people think he's lying even if he isn't and that's why he doesn't have many friends.
•The rebel gang (Cerise, Raven and eventually Maddie) know that he knows about Cerise being a werewolf so they just pretend he's just lying (gaslight, girlkeep, girlbosses), so he dislikes them lol
•At first he acts a little bit like a tone down version of professor crocker when it came to the fairies (fairly OddParents mention) but with the werewolf on school, mostly Cerise bcs he wants to prove she's lying but he always fails lmao
•His parents do believe in the system like religiously and raised him to be ordinary and faithful to the system.
•At the beginning he has a crush on Lily Bo- Peep but it's mostly an "ideal" of who he's supposed to fall in love with.
•Hoppeless romantic
•loves writing, his parents hate it
•Since Cedar doesn't know Cerise secret, he feels he can trust her, and started to see her as a friend when she said "I think you're wrong about Cerise but I don't think you're lying" bcs that gave him the sense of "Now not thinks I'm not worthy of trust"
• With some interaction with the hunters (my AU) bcs he goes to a training camp he realizes they're sort of the bad ones lol so he starts to change little by little.
•By spending time with her he also develops a crush on Cedar but is angsty bcs of Cedar feelings with her being made out of wood and doesn't know how to feel (while he writes for her)

imagine all the lore, side plots, cool villians, and actual development we could have if Thomas didn't waste the time of the voice actors, writers, animators, and viewers on throwing a temper tantrum over people liking Chloe
Sooo, if I’m understanding this correctly: Felix can apologize off-screen and have his crimes hand-waved away, which means by the same logic Chloe, whose crimes are significantly less severe than the ones Felix willingly and happily committed, should be able to do the same too.
Jokes aside, Astruc really is showing his priorities here. After all Felix gets to apologize off-screen and then everyone immediately moves on from his sins, which, again, include actual genocide that joyfully committed and helping a magical super-terrorist on his own free will & without being manipulated and groomed. Meanwhile, poor Sabrina is forced to spends months as a social outcast, with nearly everyone refusing to give her a chance, despite the fact that she was literally the sole reason Marinette was able to expose Lila back in Season 5, thus prevent their education from being fucked over.
Then again, am I even surprised? This is the same guy who “redeemed” one of the show's worst fathers by having him blame his fourteen-year-old daughter and her abusive mother for his corrupt political career and everything else that made his life miserable, then forcibly send her off with that same abusive mother while he kidnapped I mean took in the step-child he had zero involvement in raising her and zero legal rights too. Let's not also forget the deleted scene that was sooo "important" to the story according to Astruc where Andre claim that he's taking in Zoe because he LIKES HER BETTER and doesn't deserves to be abused, effectively implying that he thinks chloe dose.
There are a bunch of woefully under explored characters that I think would’ve made for REALLY good Suzanne selfors books, but my main ones are:
Courtley POV character, Alistair secondary character, where something goes wrong at the school and Grimm threatens to expel her. We can up the stakes by saying that if she’s expelled, she has to go back to jail in Wonderland, and that she’s really trying to turn over a new card so she’s doing everything in her power to stop that. With Alistair’s riddle thing, and lack of involvement with Courtley as an antagonist, I can see him being someone that chooses her side. It would also be good to look deeper into her motivations in the wonderland plot. The show painted a very shallow picture of her the same way it did Duchess, and given what Selfors did for Duchess, I have no doubt that Courtley could have an interesting background that pushed her to take the action she thought she needed to
Justine and Ramona, with Justine as the POV character. The selfors books have never shied away from taking inspiration from existing dynamics (duchess and sparrow, holly and poppy) so I would’ve LOVED a story between these two following their webisode. I would like it to complete Justine’s story arc of unlearning her biases. She believes that Ramona is acting suspiciously, but it goes completely against her expectations— she finds out Ramona is actually the daughter of Red Riding Hood. I think she’d have an inner battle with whether or not she’s meant to “report” this to anyone, but ultimately chooses not to. She and Ramona become closer as a result. I see Ramona as a very guarded person, so I’d LOVE for Justine to be the first person Ramona can trust. Queercoding is necessary btw
I’d love a very nature themed one with Jillian perspective and Nina as the secondary main character. With the race and gender politics of kiss and spell and semi charming kind of life respectively, I feel like a missing key issue is environmental justice. As very earthy floral girls, Jillian and Nina feels quite natural for this. I could easily see it being the school wanting to cut down a portion of the enchanted forest to like. Make a school swimming pool or something. Ashlynn and Hunter could definitely be part of the supporting cast for this. I’d also just love to see those two girls get fleshed out more since both of them only have one webisode each

I was feeling agitated and artblocked yesterday so I decided to give my brain a rest by watching TV and then the next thing I knew these were in front of me
You know, I’ve always thought that Avatar The Last Airbender would be improved if instead of Zuko getting a redemption arc, he stayed evil and was replaced by a new character. Like maybe after Zuko sides with Azula at the end of Book Two we could be introduced to his long lost brother: Twoko.
Twoko looks almost exactly the same as Zuko but has a cool dyed streak in his hair. Obviously nobody has ever mentioned Twoko’s existence before this point but now he’s here and he’s the one who’s going to teach Aang firebending, and all the members of Team Avatar agree that he’s so much better than Zuko was, and make sure to say so at every opportunity. And then every time we do see Zuko in the show after that point it’s just to remind us of how irredeemably cruel and evil he is. But it’s okay because Azula can let us know that Twoko definitely used to be evil as well, so it’s totally like we got a redemption arc for him instead, it just all happened long before we ever met him.
Also Azula eventually gets a redemption arc too.
But not Zuko. Because Zuko is evil.
I just think that would make for a much more compelling story.
Imagine being chloe bourgeois and your own father picks your half sister, who he’s both not related to and hasn’t known until like a month ago, over you. I’d crash out too
Raven Queen parentification allegory could be so real if EAH were to engage with the concept of the fairytale Evil Queen being Snow White's stepmother in any real capacity. Which it generally does not but I think about it sometimes
Pov there is a girl who is your peer, but every adult in your life expects that you will take on the role of her mother. (They do not actually expect that you will be a successful or good mother, and see it as a matter of due course that you will have to be punished for this failing.) But you never asked for any of this and are just a kid like her with ambitions of your own- sometimes you resent her for how little responsibility is put upon her, and how much hope she has for her future (for which yours is being sacrificed). And then you kick yourself for that resentment, because letting yourself feel it feels like proving everyone right about you, and like failing her, just like how your own mother failed hers. (Which of course is to say, how your own mother failed you.)
