Darn! Darn it all to heck!

I’ve been seeing this a lot lately and I understand if people get miffed about it. I would be too. And I think it’s a good call to try and interact with folks by calling attention to it.

if I follow you but we never rp, it’s not that i’m using you to get my follower count up.

I’m just rlly bad at making the first move.

Follower count doesn’t mean squat to me since I know that it usually ends up being like, dead blogs I’ll never see again. So yeah. 

This is a post where I’m encouraging you, the reader, to make the first move. Just try and talk to the people you follow, even if you don’t think they’d be interested in rping ( provided you follow their rules on contact, mutuals, ect ). Maybe they wanna rp? Maybe they don’t. Your chances can only increase if you come with an idea to bring to the table, so just try it!

Dexson nodded and started hacking away at another. “We’ll need to find purple ones and perhaps orange. Orange ones are so rare,” he mumbled.

Getting those would require toiling in areas the young vampire was never comfortable being in. “Only ever seen them in ancient battle sites.”

“Rare? Hrmm. I take it from your tone those battle grounds are perilous, yes?” Red thought out loud. “Let us gather what we can without risking it und see whether we do need any. No sense in unnessicary risks.

Red shattered his one and found two blue gems. He held them up to line up with Dexson’s eyes and snickered.

He tilted his head before realizing what Red was doing. Dexson giggled. “Nice observation,” He chirped.

After some toil, their yield was about 4 red gems, 3 blue gems, some chips of wood, a few pieces of gold, and plenty of chipped rock.

Oh shadows, this felt awkward. It had been so long since he’d attempted such niceties, he hardly remembered how to do this.

Maxwell nodded. He gestured into the centre of the room, attempting to convey ‘take a seat’.

Doc happily sat where there’d be room for the both of them. Luckily it made two of them that weren’t sure how to act on a date. He gestured for Maxwell to perhaps join him if he wanted to.

Maxwell sat down by Doc and pulled a notepad out of the air. He honestly hadn’t expected to get this far. With a wave of his hand and the blanket on the back of the sofa wrapped around them.

On the note pad he wrote: “I believe I promised you dinner. What is it you would like? You need not limit yourself to what the island provides.” Maxwell shows this note to Doc.

"Err. Good question. Venison steak, perhaps? Maybe some wine and something green. But these things are a two way street, eh? So, what did you have in mind?" Doc was a simple, easy-to-please man. He was just glad to see he wasn't being avoided like the plague.

Wilson signed and leaned against Doc. He stayed quiet for a few seconds before hugging back.

“I’m not too sure a remedy can even be made,” he said softly. “Not here, anyway.”

He hugged Doc a bit tighter then. “…Thank you for that.”

Luckily, he seemed to have a gently used spare. He passed it over to his sire. They broke it quickly… only to find no gems. “Darn,” he mumbled as he looked at the other stalagmite.

Dexson broke another out of frustration and was rewarded with a red gem. “Now we need a blue one!”

Red patiently hacked away with Dexson. He was only slightly disapointed by the lack of gemstones in the first one. There were plenty more around after all.

When the second revealed a gem he was delighted. “Wonderful!” He turned his attention to picking up the remaining depree, just in case they’d need it. Straightening back up he headed over to a random other stalegmite. “How about this one next?”
