PJ Masks Power Heroes Short Story (this happens after the events of the episode An Yuās Birthday)
The last echoes of celebration faded from the museum as Owlette soared through the star-dusted sky, her passenger clinging happily to her back. An Yu, the gentle dragon girl and protector of the mystical peak, giggled as the wind ruffled her hair. They were heading for Power Q, where a surprise party awaited for An Yuās 2,001st birthday. Below them, the city of Tarabiscoville glittered, a peaceful grid of quiet streets and sleeping houses.
On one of those very streets, a different kind of procession was moving. Night Ninja, shoulders slumped in defeat, led his troop of Ninjalinos back toward their temple hideout. Another failed plan against the PJ Power Heroes had left them all weary. As they shuffled along, Night Ninjaās sharp eyes noticed something. Marvin, his most loyal Ninjalino, was dragging his feet, his usual energetic bounce completely gone. His little head was hung low, and even his fully covered purple ninja outfit seemed to droop.
āHalt!ā Night Ninja commanded, his voice softer than usual. He turned to the other Ninjalinos. āYou guys head back to the temple. I need aā¦ villainous moment of reflection. With Marvin.ā
The other Ninjalinos nodded and ninja-vanished into the shadows, leaving Night Ninja alone with his small, disheartened friend. Without a word, Night Ninja gestured toward the city park. They walked in silence to a bench overlooking a quiet, moonlit pond and sat down. The only sounds were the distant hum of the city and the chirping of crickets.
āAlright, Marvin,ā Night Ninja began, crossing his arms. āSpill the ninja beans. Whatās wrong? Youāve been more mopey than a Ninjalino who lost his shuriken.ā
Marvin let out a long, sad squeak. He gestured with his small hands, speaking in rapid, emotional Ninjalino-ese. *Ninjalino-ese-hiccup!*
As Night Ninja listened, his usual smirk faded, replaced by a look of genuine concern. Marvin was explaining that ever since the Psychoactive Asteroid crashed, everything felt different. It had given Night Ninja, Luna Girl, and Romeo amazing power boosts and cool new outfits. But Marvin? He was still justā¦ Marvin. Same purple ninja suit, same little self. He felt left behind, weird, and ordinary in a world that had become extra-ordinary. The biggest squeak of all was reserved for his deepest fear: maybe Night Ninja didnāt love his old, un-powered Ninjalino anymore.
āWhoa, whoa, whoa. Hold your ninja horses, little buddy,ā Night Ninja said, holding up a hand. He uncrossed his arms, his posture becoming less villainous and moreā¦ brotherly. āYouāve got it all wrong. Totally, completely, epically wrong.ā
He turned on the bench to face Marvin fully. āListen. That asteroid gave me some extra zap, yeah. And this new outfit? Pretty slick, I wonāt lie,ā he said, admiring his six rings of ninja magic. āBut under the mask and the power boosts, Iām still me. Iām still the guy who thinks heās the best at everything (which I am),who thinks he deserves to take Mystery Mountain for himself and whoā¦ who has the best Ninjalino second-in-command a nighttime villain could ask for.ā
Marvin looked up, his big eyes glistening.
āAll this new stuff is flashy, but it doesnāt change whatās important,ā Night Ninja continued, his voice losing its boastful edge. āYou worrying about this is a bigger problem than any PJ Mask. If you got a power boost and a new outfit, you wouldnāt be my Marvin anymore. Youād beā¦ Super Marvin, or Shiny Marvin, or something. And I donāt need that. I need *you*. The you who knows all the best hiding spots in the temple, who fetches my ninja-noodles without being asked, and who always has my back, even when my plans are kinda dumb.ā
He placed a hand on Marvinās small shoulder. āSo you have to do something for me, okay? Something super important. You have to promise to keep your outfit exactly the same. No cosmic upgrades, no asteroid makeovers. Stay as you are. For me.ā
Marvin stared at him for a long moment. Then, a slow, wobbly smile spread across his face. He nodded vigorously, a firm, determined *squeak* of agreement.
āThatās my Ninjalino,ā Night Ninja said, his own smile returning. Then, in a move far more tender than any villainous plot, he opened his arms. āCāmere.ā
Marvin didnāt hesitate. He scrambled into Night Ninjaās lap, and Night Ninja wrapped him in a long, warm hug. It wasnāt a victory hug, or a scheming hug. It was just a hug. Under the moonlight, on a quiet park bench, the powerful, boosted nighttime villain held his small, unchanged friend close, proving that some thingsālike loyalty and loveādidnāt need any super-charging at all.
