I’m a full believer in doing small things for yourself to cultivate your soul without having to tell anybody especially in a day and age where people feel the need to capitalize on every aspect of themselves to create an aestheticized identity… like learning a language going on a run writing a poem practicing your craft going to a museum dancing for fun can and should give you personal fulfillment that doesn’t have to be presented through a lens or validated by an audience

Childhood made everything feel like it lingered. The time it took for hot chocolate to cool down was eternal. Christmas day took weeks. The two-hour drive to my grandparents' house took us to a new world. It's all too fast now.

being in my 20s is like I understand more of my mother and less than i ever have. My childhood friends are strangers to me and there’s no one i know better. i want to drink wine. i never stopped wanting to climb trees. i know more than I’ve ever known before. I don’t know anything at all. i’m seven years old and sixteen and twenty nine and seventy. I can’t tell when i'm happy. I think the only thing that will make me happy is to be little again. i want to be really old. i go to the ocean and feel like nothing matters more than that. in my bedroom everything matters so much. I go to the grocery store every day. i know how to cook a lot of things but the only thing i know how to eat is fried eggs. I can take care of myself but i want to be taken care of. i want to go home and I don't know where that is. i think it may be somewhere inside of me but i’m not sure

not to be that person but in a time where productivity and instant gratification is maximized constantly and everything you do is expected to benefit you in some way, taking time for yourself and taking care of yourself is the most important thing in the world. like take time for slow living…wake up at noon and take time to watch your favourite movies and start the books you keep saying that you’ll read eventually… not everything needs to happen instantly or have some outcome that furthers your career or life in some way. like. relax. eat what you want and laugh a lot. love everyone around you. i think the world would be happier & a better place to live in

sorry for romanticizing the mundane but the fact that laughter is infectious is so incredible to me. like yeah it's just a reaction to stimuli but the way it feels to hear someone laugh and feel yourself compelled to share that joy is really something. and it's so simple and requires no skill but it's so special and important to me.
