Polar opposites (part 1?)
You were the angel of faith, one of the ten generals of heaven.
Bakugou Katsuki was the demon of pride, one of the seven generals of hell.
Two powerful people on opposite sides that hated one another and had never even met one another.
Bakugou had learned of you from a report from the demon of wrath, Midoriya Izuku. Midoriya had been fuming after his fight with you. He should've won easily. Your body was weak compared to his. Oftentimes, you weren't even seen on the frontlines. What pissed off Midoriya more was that the fight had been a draw. Bakugou remembered being slightly surprised at such knowledge. Midoriya was strong and didn't go easy on anyone. When asked about the fight, Midoriya had explained how it had come to a draw. You'd kept him busy, using mind tricks to burrow your way into Midoriya's mind like a parasite and rip him apart from inside. Several times, Midoriya had broken free of your control and had landed a few hits on you. But they hadn't been hard enough, Midoriya's mind still muddled from what you'd done and continued to do.
It should've been only a matter of time before Midoriya could actually land a serious blow. But you'd been smart. You'd known that you'd never be able to defeat the demon of wrath and had called reinforcements in. Another one of the ten generals of heaven arrived with the reinforcements, one of the generals that was capable of taking Midoriya down. It'd been a matter of life or death in that moment for him. Midoriya had wanted to stay badly, try and finish off the angel of faith at least. You'd screwed around in his head far too much for his liking. But the demon soldiers that served under him were getting destroyed. Midoriya made a choice to retreat and have his remaining soldiers live another day. He hated what you pulled, though. Six demons were snatched before they were able to retreat. Only three found their way back, minds broken from what you did to them.
Personally, you knew what the generals of hell looked like. Every time you combed through a demon's memories for anything useful, there was bound to be at least one shot of a general from hell. You'd never admit outloud, but you found it admirable at how the generals of hell would pay visits to each squadron to see if they were up to standard of not dying. It seemed the demon soldiers still needed training, though.
"Sister?"
You glanced up from your work to see the angel of love, Ochaco Uraraka. All of the angel generals had been raised together since birth, trained for what they were to become.
"Need something, someone? Or is this something else altogether?"
You asked rapidly, spitting questions like usual. Ochaco smiled fondly.
"We need you at the frontlines. A group of demons has broken through and is causing quite the trouble."
You nodded, standing up and replying,
"I have faith that I'll be able to get rid of this pesky group."
The Angel of Faith has faith within her comrades and, most importantly, herself. The Demon of Pride knows what he wants and is proud of who he is.
They never should have met as both ultimately destroyed what they thought they stood for.
It should've been an easy trip. Get rid of the demon group that had broken through. But it hadn't been known who'd been leading the group. Bakugou Katsuki.
Bakugou was about to land a killing blow on an angel when his attack was blocked before he could land it on them. A shield of light surrounded the pathetic creature and standing in front of them..Was you.
Bakugou had known that a group of angels were coming to deal with his group. He'd scoffed at the idea. It would be an easy win, and his hands would be covered with angel blood quickly. But just like you, he hadn't expected this. The angel of faith was the one leading this group. Midoriya had described you to Bakugou before. Guess Midoriya forgot to mention how beautiful you were. It was either that or he'd refused to say such a thing in his anger.
Your face held a determined look to it as you yelled at the angel behind to get out of there. They ran away, and Bakugou scoffed at it reminded him of a child running to safety. He pushed down against the barrier more and put more and more pressure on it. Small cracks were beginning to form on the barrier, but your determined expression didn't fade.
Bakugou already knew about your mind tricks. He wouldn't be able to evade them completely, but that was what made this fun. He couldn't wait to destroy the angel of faith and see if you lived up to your reputation before then.
>>>>>>>>
Both of you were gasping for air, with Bakugou holding his head in pain. Your body was riddled with injuries and bruises. His body only had small cuts that had seemed so much more painful when you'd messed with his mind. You pissed him off. But there was something about you at the same time. The sound of a horn in the distance was heard, alerting to the sounds of reinforcements. Midoriya hadn't been lying about how ruthless you were. Bakugou fully understood now of why Midoriya had retreated. In a normal fight, he definitely could take on different general of the heavens.. But with you here. You'd definitely mess around in his head while fighting against a foe that could cause actual damage to his body..You'd throw Bakugou off course.
"RETREAT!"
Bakugou called out, not moving away from you as his soldiers retreated. He couldn't risk what had happened last time to Midoriya's soldiers. His pride wouldn't allow it. Once the final demon had retreated, Bakugou did so himself. He glanced back once.
Your lips had curled into a smile Bakugou couldn't explain and wouldn't be able to get out of his mind.
The seed of obsession had been planted into his mind with that single smile and fight.
