In her defense she didn’t have other friends outside of her sister and Tendo, maybe Megumi. She watched him ramble on, taking in his expressions curiously. She hadn’t met many men who acted like this in a situation when most would be aroused.
Did she like him? She was glad he provided an alternative question, she didn’t have the time to analyze her feelings at the moment.
“Well, you’re Tendo, you’re tenderhearted yet strong and admirable. Your skill is impressive, but if you’re referring to physically you are quite handsome.” With each compliment she inched forward, moving her face closer to his to make it harder to avoid eye contact. “However, you always seem ready to run away, especially right now…” She sat back, granting space once more.
“Are you a virgin or perhaps you don’t find me attractive?” She asked bluntly while looking over her body and current attire, she hadn’t come with the intention of seducing him so her outfit wasn’t anything different from what she usually wore.
Taking compliments was harder than he liked. It was good to hear that from her, but part of him still felt she was only saying these things to make him happy. Which, it did, so that still meant she at least cared enough to try and help.
As she inched closer, he didn’t pull back. In fact, he found himself leaning in just the slightest bit. He only noticed when she sat back, blinking back to reality as he sat upright again. Despite how his heart was pounding, he felt much more at ease and kept a curious eye on Kasumi. Maybe he was trying to prove her wrong? That he wasn’t going to run away. He wasn’t a coward, and he didn’t want her to ever think that.
That last question took him off-guard and he turned wide eyes and a flushed face to her. “What?! N-no! No, no,” he waved his hands emphatically in front of himself. “No, th-that’s not- I’m not a virgin,” he clarified with a strong gesture and scoffed chuckle, “for one thing. A-and you are attractive- very- uh- but- you’re also my friend and....” He heaved a heavy sigh and shook his head rubbing his hands over his face exasperatedly, feelings of irritation directed mainly at himself. “What am I saying?” Was she actually trying to seduce him? That didn’t seem possible outside a dream, and yet here she was, boldly and bluntly approaching him. Rejecting her would be rude, and he didn’t want to, but was it right? Why wouldn’t it be? “Maybe I need a drink,” he mumbled into his hands.
“Look, I guess... w-what I’m... trying to say is.... I appreciate your friendship and company, and I don’t wanna screw anything up.... What if I do something you don’t like, or you don’t think I’m good in bed, or- I-I mean, if it goes that far, and I don’t wanna presume to know - ... Okay, so, being honest....” He took a deep breath. She was being totally upfront with him, it would only be fair to be open himself, even if it wasn’t something he wanted to admit out loud. “I... sometimes think about it- a-about ... us... being intimate. Sometimes, think it could be nice.... Just... never really expected it to be a possibility. Didn’t want to ... to ruin a friendship. Heh, lot easier dealing with animals, not great with people.... But... if it’s something you want...?” He turned a pleading golden gaze back to Kasumi, heart still racing, but he wasn’t going to run away, not this time.
