Aw thanks for the question! And yes,, a tentative list, if I drew them out I might change my mind a little on some of these but not too bad. It’s true I’m not too good or consistent at showing and figuring out heights for All of them at once, I’ve never successfully drawn an oc lineup and stuck with it in my life lmao!

A lot of short ocs.... I think Roxy would start out the “Average” height ocs* while Nate/Lauren start out the Officially Tall ocs?

*But then again, idk maybe Andre starts it. He was always meant to be pretty short but I wasn’t the best at drawing it and then I kept giving him even shorter pals to hang out with haha!

Evelyn, Octavius, Ricky & Tatiana are all vampires in the AU now, while Avery and Nicki are now part of the AU as humans! Ricky n Tatiana belong to @duck-n-clover​!

Evelyn owns a goth nightclub/bar, with a secret (“secret”?) vampire underground scene, Ricky and Tatiana work there as well. Besides having to do a lot of important owner and manager tasks, she prefers to bartend more than anything. The club is occupied with 3 tiers, I guess. Humans who just like the vibe (they r valid), humans aware of the vampire community (usually wearing a subtle but unique accessory indicating if they're dtf/dtb(e bitten)) and of course the vampires themselves! Often marked with a blacklight stamp granting them into a vamp exclusive or vamp feeding zone! They may bring a human or unstamped guest into The Zone if they'd like, provided they know what they’re getting into. There’s another small room off of that featuring snacks, healthy drinks, and comfortable lounge furniture if any companions start to feel weak from the blood loss. The bar has a signature bright red cherry drink, to easily write off any possible stains or spills that could happen, though it’s usually dark enough in there and the crowd majority probably tends to wear black clothes.

Our vamps can transform into bats and also have an unrelated animal form they can transform into, though Evelyn just prefers to be a bat. She never really settled into one that feels right so jumps around, usually between common animals that won’t seem out of place. Dogs, cats and birds mostly. I don’t know when exactly she was turned but she stays very up to date on modern times, although she still sleeps in an old fashioned coffin when it’s not necessary. Is it just aesthetics? Or a reminder of when she was first made! A bit of both, most likely. Can’t stand sunlight for long, and isn’t really apart of a coven. She spends enough time around so many other vampires that it isn’t really a desire for her, though it’s true that she loves her friends and staff quite dearly.

Ricky is the entertainment/hostess buzzing around the club to make sure everyone is having a good time. However, she’s also a little goblin who may take a shiny piece of jewelry here n there, so, watch out. ;) Her animal form would be a squirrel. Can tolerate and indulges in human foods more than the average vamp. Tatiana is the security, and her animal form is a deer.

Evelyn meeting the whole crew because of the club isn’t really a surprise.. but I was trying to think what would make them so special to befriend out of all the other vamp covens she’d meet! I think what will end up happening is a little on the sad side but it’ll be fine.. Andre used to be in a no good spooky coven who Kinda left him for dead, then Levi Izzy & Lucky take him in and care for him, helping him get better slowly but surely. One night someone from his old coven comes back to the area, recognizes Andre at the bar as one of them and demands he come back. (Andre’s “branded” with a particular recognizable scar.)

Andre’s obviously upset and doesn’t want to, which makes the other guy mad. This of course draws attention, and it’s really not the ideal situation in the first place, but especially with some regular humans around. So while Tatiana does her job and tries to stop a fight and escort the bad coven out Evelyn also steps in to try and get the upset Andre to calm down, too. She takes him to a backroom until someone can come to take him home and they end up talking a lot while Andre vents about what happened. Evelyn blacklists a few vamps, and stays in touch with Andre n gives him special treatment next time he’s at the bar ‘cause boy has he been through a lot in this one. They are... buddies now.

Octavius was made some time vaguely between Andre and Nate/Kriss, but again, not 100% decided there. Was probably part of the navy at some point. Works at an aquarium now, just like in the regular universe. Can be out in the sun for stretches of time, long enough to get to work and retreat into the darker undersea exhibits for most of his shift without getting too drained of energy. Tries to keep up with the latest technology but looses himself for a bit and is always a little behind with things. Met Andre at the club and shares a bite to eat (*winks*) with him. (They were both thirsting after the same guy and his blood, is what I mean.) Andre’s a bit territorial? but eventually softens enough to get familiar with Tavey, bringing him back to the Vamp House to meet and befriend the rest of the mix n match. His favorite animals are of course octopuses... but you can’t always swing that transformation, so he defaults to a mastiff dog sometimes!

Avery is Andre’s human familiar, helpin him with daytime tasks n things. Kinda helps the whole mix n match if they needed anything but most of them can tolerate the sun for at least a little bit of time. Avery is just fine not becoming a vampire, seems like a messy life. Just picked it up as an odd job at some point! They definitely met the gang after Nathan and Kriss get turned, and maybe even close to when Nico was born!

Everyone knows Andre’s dad, even when they don’t know him. I mean, obviously... And because of this Andre’s scared someone will out him, accidentally or otherwise. (No one ever does thankfully, but it was, kinda threatened and remains a reeal big scary fear for him for a while.) Either kids who don’t like him who know what he’s done will tell or just general rumors or gossip spreading around far enough. Or even,,,, god forbid Andre getting careless himself.

He has been caught fooling around with boys under the bleachers and around the school before, and while it hasn’t happened yet, the fear of not only having to come out but getting into big trouble on top of that is, terrifying. (and yet he keeps on tryin it, huh..)

His father’s not homophobic, but, it’s not something that they TALK about. Andre has no way of fully knowing how he’ll react and fears the worst. He will be a bit in denial/worried/confused when Andre first comes out, just, unsure how to react to his son. Emotions run very high and it was probably a pretty rough time. It’s not hate filled, but obviously not ideal either. His father would be much more upset with the promiscuity and being careless, compared to just liking boys. WHO he likes is another big problem, too, though. As the principal he knows all of the troublemakers, and Andre seems to like them all. If his dad finds out about his feelings for Lucky? HOO boy..

Andre gets real panicky about this one day when he thinksss a spiteful “ex” (? prolly just gave each other hjs once not like, a full ex bf) might spill the beans and he’s REALLy freaked out. He tries to think of a friend to talk about this problem with but, no one seems Right. They’d listen, and they’d all mean well, and it’d be easier than he thinks... But probably not the best with relating to his situation and giving advice or calming fears which is what he really wants right now. Maybe they aren’t the closest (Izzy). Maybe they aren’t out yet (Dante), maybe they are but with super nice accepting parents (Nathan), or they just, don’t know what to do about someone expressing emotions(Lucky....). Maybe uhhh, someone else would be better giving advice, did you ask them instead?

Andre has a hard enough time opening up and feeling like he’s accepted by his new found friends so talking about a big emotional FEAR is tough for him. Which makes the “oh yeah, I can listen to your problems” hard because he’s feelin vulnerable and doesn’t want judgement, he’s not sure what they’re thinking if they don’t have advice to give.. so he might not be telling the whole story or just getting frustrated trying to explain to certain people without like,,, crying.

Andre and Levi were never that close, Andre was, apprehensive. But, in the little goose-chase trying to find SOMEONe who might have good advice to calm his fears, someone, I think Dante recommends Andre talk with Levi about a similar situation. Finally get those two connected somehow! Sure enough, Levi doesn’t mind and comforts Andre and talks about his own situation a little. Andre’s stress and fear is overwhelming and he eventually just bursts, he doesn’t even mind crying in front of this popular boy he used to find intimidating, he just needs to get it out!!! They skip class for the rest of the day (#selfcare,, obvs), because Levi wants to pamper him after an emotionally draining day. Plus Andre feels like he looks gross n obviously been cryin so he’s,,, definitely open to not sticking around to head back to class. Levi takes Andre back to his house (Tatiana’s house, actually,, he’s an exchange student). They sing and goof off on the way home, or at least, Levi does and Andre halfheartedly joins in sometimes when he feels up to it. Still a LIL upset. The house has a pool, and Andre loves to swim, so OBVIOUSLY they do,, and they nap, and probably have some junk food snacks. Kiss,,,, when Andre feels ok about that. They ask Tatiana to please help convince her dad to let Andre stay the night, pleeeaaase? And then spend the night!! Enjoy ur brand new friend’s couch,, Andre…

Mostly started because I had a sudden thought about the principal of the school and instead of saying insert randomly chosen name here, what if we actually knew the principal! And the logical choice seemed to be, Andre’s dad. UH?? Sounds like Drama! And turns out, it is. I feel bad for always doin shit to Andre lmao oops... hewp him.

I think this explains more of Andre’s personality and not feeling good enough. Zahra was quite the star of the school and passed with honors and several high awards and recognition, though she’s already graduated before Andre gets there. Her reputation precedes her and she’s still well known by a lot of students and teachers there. Andre feels the comparison strongly, especially since he’s typically seen as a failure. It’s such a big, obvious contrast. With his father actually really involved with the school, the extra stress on his grades not being good enough seems even more understandable.

He doesn’t approve of a lot of Andre’s friends but. He’s not always. The biggest asshole?? At least??? He will tell Andre what he thinks of his friends whether he wants to hear it or not. But he let’s Andre have kinda private time with some friends without hovering too much, he knows that could be awkward for his friends dealing with his presence outside of school, too. Of course how much privacy and time they can spend together Definitely depends on the friend and how good they are/how much dad likes them. Some get sleepover privileges while others don’t.. Luckily Andre has a window with uhh somewhat easy access and Andre is not above breaking some rules,, so does it reallly matter???

Andre still gets into his usual trouble. More at stake, but, higher reward when he gets away with it. He considers the risk part of the fun when it comes to a lot of his shenanigans tbh.

No one really thought it’d be possible to have a mermaid and human baby, like, yeesh. BIG WHOOPSIE. But while it wasn’t expected and she didn’t really ? Know exactly what was happening, for the most part bc she didn’t think it could happen, it felt very right for Izzy when she had baby Nico. This is her pod, now! It is small but good.

No one else really figured, either. Nico was a small lil thing so she didn’t really gain too much noticeable weight, probably just figured it was from catching extra fish and trying new human foods and getting lazy with the swimming while staying on the boat, anyway. She kinda settled in the water for a while near the end of the pregnancy and caught up with the ship again later. As much as she loves the crew, she still does her own thing, comes and goes as she pleases so it wasn’t the most unusual. So of course. A big fun surprise for everyone when she comes back and untangles a lil tadpole of a son from her hair to show off.

Lucky’s, uh. Surprised. And probably doesn’t take it too well. What is that... Where did you find a baby? What do you mean you gave birth to it?! So it’s Levi’s??? It’s gotta be from the two mermaids,,, right?? Not me? R-right???

I’m still unsure about how Andre reacts, honestly,, but I guess it just kinda, knocks him on his ass for a bit. Probably doesn't say much at all until he’s finally just. okay. OKAY!! THIS MIGHT AS WELL HAPPEN, I GUESS!

Levi’s too busy silently having a crisis to himself, now realizing that apparently mermaids and humans actually CAN have babies together... hmmm............ interestning......... dont appreciate that thought! He’s happy that Izzy’s happy and very proud of this baby but hoo. He needs a moment to himself! (there’s no Levi babies out there,, we promise, don’t worry about)

Izzy’s a bit worried about their reactions, why doesn’t anyone seem happy about their new pod member????? She made him herself!!! >;^;< Luckily Evelyn’s also knocked on her ass and her only reaction to Nico is just like. Wow. You are so, fukcing purple. Izzy is very excited. Yes! YEs, it is true!!!!!! He is the perfect color of son, her favorite color! 💜💞🐟👶💜 Finally, someone understands! Good job Evelyn, obviously the best possible reaction. I mean, what else are you supposed to think of mysterious surprise half-merm babies??

Also Levi being wolf would make him some kind of werewolf vampire crossover ?

So it was kinda established that the vamps can transform into bats, bc that’s fun. But we decided why should we stop there,, perhaps these guys can have their own special personalized animal familiar forms, too. Why? We just think it’s neat! The bat transformation is probably a separate thing, much easier to do, but the other animal form might make it easier to be able to wander around in daytime without much harm. It’s fantasy magic, don’t worry about it, w/e w/e. I think they could technically be any sort of animal but everyone will usually have a form that’s just easier for them and they stick with it. It’s their vampire fursona,,, if you will. After enough transformations it’s probably harder to try other animals, besides their bat forms? They’re just used to it. Newbie vamps probably typically try a few different things out before they figure out what Feels Right.

Of the crew, Levi is a wolf, Izzy is a rabbit, Lucky is a scraggly black cat (baby Nico is also a black cat, just,,, a tiny puffball with big eyes lookin mf), Kriss is a crow, and Nathan is a fox. He wanted to be a big cool and tough wolf like Levi but couldn’t manage, but he’ll settle. It’s Fine... He also tried being a ferret, that was fun. Andre on the other hand.. Did not have an animal form. He didn’t really know it was possible, or at least, didn’t know HE could be capable of it. His past with his maker/first vampire coven was abusive. He was usually hungry and physically weak, as well as constantly being told he was weak, so it was hard and he never realized his full potential. No one really explained things to him or showed him the ropes.

When he joins with Levi, Izzy, and Lucky, they help him adjust and teach him plenty of things, but becoming an animal other than a bat isn’t something he knows how to grasp. Perhaps they aren’t the best teachers for this one, it’s a difficult concept to explain when they’ve always just kinda done it, but they try to explain anyway. (“You just, y’know.... BE the cat.” “???”) Years come n go and gosh, idk, maybe even Nathan and Kriss are here by now?? It really takes a while, he kinda gave up trying to learn this one and figured he Just Couldn’t Do It, it was frustrating, he was Too Weak. It might’ve been seeing the newbies do it that sparked his interest again... Still. Just Be The Cat doesn’t help much. He keeps trying again, though, and imagine everyone’s surprise and pride when he DOES finally be the cat! A big, very big, stripey cat.... He’s a tiger... Aw jeez, oh boy.... Heck. Everyone’s caught off guard but we are all proud of him. He is very strong. They might need a quick team meeting huddle to figure out what to do with the huge fucking tiger stretching on Levi’s bed, but I think it’s gonna be just fine.

We don’t have an exact time frame for when these things happen, but this is like a rough kind of timeline. Levi and Izzy are made vampires around the same time, they’re the oldest of the group. (17th century? probably?) They’re very close and bond together. They’re part of a bigger vampire coven for some time but unfortunately things didn’t work out for one reason or another. They have each other and random people along the way but it’s a big difference from a big vamp family. A vampily. Don’t know exactly when Lucky or Andre were made into vamps, but it’s definitely been a while. Lucky was in a currently undecided but not great situation, and Levi and Izzy kinda take him in and help him out gettin readjusted. It’s also still a bit before Andre joins them, Lucky might get just a bit concerned sharing Izzy n Levi after being a trio together for so long, but it was still recent enough that he’s sympathetic about Andre being in a similar situation as he was in when Levi/Izzy found him.

Andre’s in a very bad spot with an abusive maker and coven. He’s basically one of if not the weakest of the group, and purposely kept that way. Just kinda kept him around as a plaything and scapegoat if needed. The last to eat, forced to have bad sleep, not usually allowed to leave, used, promised a lot of things with no reward, and kept in the dark (pun accidentally intended) about coven decisions and just general important vampire information that he could’ve easily been taught in order to help him. He was with them for quite a long time, but it would be especially hard for a freshly turned vampire thrown into this mess without much concept of their new found immortality like he was, it seemed like forever. Roughly a decade or two, maybe?

The head vampire that made Andre is infamous in the vamp community for being cruel, it’s not exactly a secret, but he’s powerful and not easily dealt with. One night there’s a raid and a big vampire fight at one of this coven’s hideouts, the one Andre was kept most of the time. There’s probably a few casualties, but the lead vamp and a lot of his more appreciated vamps escape relatively unharmed, with plans to just scatter and move on to their next hideout for a while as things blow over. They’re pretty cavalier about it, thinks most of the vamps there were expendable, anyway.

Levi happens to overhear some gossip about this raid, something about the expendable pawns who “helped” these bad vamps escape easier. He wants to check it out for himself and see what went down, if this hideout really is empty now. It’s pretty wrecked and deserted, but he finds Andre alone, curled up and weak. Carries him outta there and takes him home before the sun comes up, lets him cozy up and recover in his bed. Andre’s out of it for a little while, too weak to really care but he’s pretty defensive and scared when he gets more aware that he doesn’t know where he is or what’s going on. Gotta reassure him and build up that trust! It’s hard because Andre still thinks his maker will come back for him like he promised, even tho he’s cruel and was obviously lying and Andre’s better off without him anyway.. He does feel more comfortable with the trio, after some tough work.

It’s a process, some things are easier than others, some things take years. He struggles with food a lot at first. It probably doesn’t help that he keeps overfeeding after being starved for so long and they have to control his blood intake.. he’s not a fan of that!!! You’re not his maker, let him eat!!! Once he’s doing okay, he goes out alone* a lot at night. (*kinda pseudo-alone for a while, someone’s close by to make sure nothing goes wrong, but he feels confident enough to do what he wants on his own. He’s comfortable with this.) He’s still not really alright enough to go out during the day, something that’s only really doable for healthier stronger vampires, carefully for stretches of time. And even when he is stronger, he still has a worry about it that blocks him.

Over enough time he’s generally Pretty OK, though. They’re comfortable together in their weird happy little spooky house.

Meanwhile! Kriss and Nathan are good buds in this AU, and they were roommates... They constantly have horror movie nights together. They were turned during like uhhh. The early 90s maybe. Recent, modern, not completely outta the loop but like. A Little While Ago. They love the neighborhood’s absolute out of place creepy manor that everyone has little theories about. Witches live there, definitely. Oh, it’s very haunted actually. Someone disappeared there, they say. Very curious, they follow the one they are absolutely sure lives there, and the only one who regularly goes out during the day (it’s Levi) to figure out Hey! Just what is the deal with yall!!!! And I guess they do that. Kriss kinda still thinks they’re just really committed to the goth bit, but Nate dives right in. Vampires, right, it's so obvious now, of course. Somehow eventually convince the vamps to let them join in,, after they’re sure they’re ready to be serious about it. I don’t know specifics but I think Izzy turned Nathan.

Andre’s mostly fine by now, but the trauma still lingers in some ways. He seems very mysterious to them, but really he’s just... really worried about strangers moving in and taking up his partner’s attention now so he’s being standoffish and a lil spooky. He doesn’t want to talk to them or trust them or anything, he just wants to LURK! He also doesn’t like how goofy they seem to take it at first, yea you watched vampire movies and this is just like lost boys somehow but he spent years having a bad time and even more years getting over that! Levi gives ‘em an important talk and Andre eventually warms up to them.

Some time after this, once they think they’re all finally settled in once again,, Izzy gets vampire pregnant with a baby vampire Nico! A rare and welcomed occurrence? The specifics of vampire children are still unnecessarily confusing to me but we love this son I’m glad he’s here. He ages slowly n will stop at some point but,, uhhhh,,,, I ‘unno yet! Teething is hell!!!

“Andre, you have to eat.” He glowered at her. “I know, I know. But you’ll be alright. This is fresh, I’m the only one who touched it. Besides. Your mother won’t let me leave until you eat something. You don’t want me in here bothering you all night, do you?” “Just say I’m asleep.” “No no. I’m staying right here.” “I don’t want to eat it.” “One bite for me, one bite for you, ‘til it’s gone. Let’s both help each other out. How does that sound?” “You first?” “Of course.”

He’s still at the palace,, but older when it happens. Like not quite ready for pirate time but he’s gettin there. My logic was just kinda.. I dunno, he’s important royalty, perhaps someone got angry over something they did. A Pretty Big Target, if you think about it! Maybe his father accidentally hired a guard who was actually a traitor. Something along those lines. Who cares about the details yet, lets get to the sad stuff. They aren’t quite sure if it was meant to be FOR Andre (is he really that important for a full on murder attempt, hes just a brat whos not all that good at his princely duties,,, everyone says... rude) or if it was supposed to be say,, for his father but the dinner arrangement with which bowl had the poison got mixed up. (it was defo meant for our good brat prince boy fyi)

Evelyn is, uh, PISST and very worried for her friend. (She was originally one of Zahra’s guards/helpers/something,,, became good friends with Andre along the way and they know some of each others secrets (gay)) She’s the only non-family that he really wants to see.

Evelyn helps Andre eat for a little while afterwards? (He STILL has food anxieties and has a taster often..) She cooks things for him personally and takes the first bite,, sometimes even alternating and eating half the bowl with him. Don’t wanna worry the parents by not finishing his food or anything, but he’s just not in the mood for it. He trusts her a lot..
