Tinies coaxing their giants into doing something nice for themselves when they've been doing nothing but looking out for others all day, or better yet trying to set up a little surprise treat for them if they know their giant is the type to deny themself things they enjoy.

Borrowers making a whole trip from their human's bedroom to the kitchen to grab them pain pills when they physically can't force their body out of bed to get some themselves.

Tinies trying their best to hold and comfort their giants after a rough day despite the vast difference in scale, wrapping their arms around a finger, hugging their face or letting themselves be held onto as long as their giant needs the comfort of their presence nearby.

a muttered “careful,” or “there ya go,” to accompany it. Slamming credit card on desk.

how it started vs how it's going

me and @nyx-brown-whoami have been making actual lore for these two and it fucking slaps. can you believe he turned into a platonic yandere. we never saw it coming.

You see a lot of art and stories with borrowers/fairies/etc riding or taming mice, rats, crows, hawks, etc - and don't get me wrong I love those - but I feel like there's not enough art or writing of borrowers interacting with bugs.

Just think of how many spiders you find in your home on a regular basis. Think of how many other bugs are crawling in your walls and void spaces. Think of how many bugs are in a square meter of your yard. I have to imagine that borrowers, especially if outside, would constantly be running into critters.

Consider the following:

Picking aphids off crops. It's probably like a human plucking grapes off a vine, except they can move and have legs. If you're very patient you might get a ladybug to eat one out of your hand

Going into your dug-out cellar and there's 3 hibernating woolly bear caterpillars just curled up in a corner somehow

Trying to get back into your house at night but the humans left a light on and there's one of those giant silk moths in your way and even though it's literally harmless you're too scared to shoo it because it's bigger than you

Keeping a wolf spider as a pet in your house. It darts across your floors at all hours, keeping your home pest free. But sometimes it just jumps on you out of nowhere

I also love scenarios where a tiny is forced to trust a giant because there’s either a threat that’s far more dangerous than the giant, or the tiny is simply more afraid of something else than they are of the giant.

The giant, who’d been hard at work trying to coax the tiny into their hands, now feels a scrambling of limbs as the tiny immediately climbs into their hands without a second thought when that threat presents itself.

The giant, who might have originally celebrated such a moment, now finds themselves trying to comfort a still terrified tiny while protecting them from any threats, perceived or otherwise.

like, being one person a certain day, and coming to some grand realization in the future that you aren’t the person you actually are. In some form of great outburst, who you are, wether that be mentally or physically, you realize is not what you currently are.

and you transform into something anew. Something…Larger or smaller, as you see fit. Not being the thing you once were. Being trapped in a body, a form that doesn’t align with how you yourself see the world.

Maybe in public spaces, you can’t exactly express this. You have to squeeze yourself into tight areas, both literally and figuratively, for the sole purpose of not losing relationships or being looked down upon.

Sizeshifters are awesome. So are genderqueer & people.

Cozying up in the warm darkness as your giant goes about their day, maybe feeling the vibrations of their voice as they make small talk.

Having their hands mindlessly make their way into their pockets, simply by habit, and finding you.

Feeling their hands slide under you as they hold you there in their pocket. The warmth is almost suffocating, but it's a reminder of where you are, who you're with.

Their fingers gently fidgeting with you, maybe stroking down your hair, rolling you between their thumb and finger, maybe being a little rougher and twirling you around a bit, yet still being careful.
