Jasmine frowned as she looked at the other, “Please, don’t laugh. I’m being serious!” Jasmine pleaded with them with a sigh. “It’s a really big bug, and I really need help.” 

“Oh so you’d rather be compared to a parent who just decided they wanted nothing to do with one of their kids and left? Because I’m not sure what that says about you as a person, Dante.” Blair commented with a shake of her head, she never understood the pedestal that her brother put their father on, making him out to be some amazing person even though that was far from the case. “A warrior princess, fighting for her realm despite her family insisting that it’s a job for a man.”

“You say that but at least I know him better than my own mother. The second she could, she got as far away from me as possible,” Dante shrugged, pretending as though it didn’t bother him that at least Blair had somewhat of a relationship with her mother. Meanwhile he could barely remember his own mother’s face. “Sounds cool. Inspired by anything in particular?” he prodded with intrigue, knowing about Blair’s usual distain towards princesses.

Logan glared at Dante, though it quickly dissipated knowing he was only joking, and it was obvious that she was just teasing, though it always annoyed her when people chose her twin over her. “You’re not?” Logan asked. “It is midnight.”

“You forget I’m a night owl. Midnight to you is the night just getting started for me,” Dante clarified. “Like I said, you’re more than welcome to turn around and go back to the dorms to get your precious beauty sleep. Up to you.”

River let out a small laugh at the other. “Yeah, okay,” he said. “Nice try, but that is not the answer. The answer is twenty four. You used the wrong equation.”

“Thanks for giving me the answer,” Dante replied before scribbling down twenty-four. “I just made something up, I couldn’t be bothered to actually do the work.”

Logan raised her eyebrows at the other. “Scared? Please,” she scoffed, half jokingly. “I don’t know if you’ve met Oscar, but if I was scared, I wouldn’t drag him out of half the stuff he gets himself into. “Bring it on Dante.”

“I dunno, I thought it was worth asking,” he smirked after her reaction. After being friends for a while he knew it was easy to rile her up about this sort of stuff. “Especially since you seemed so reluctant to be up at this hour,” Dante added with a shrug. “Maybe I should’ve brought Oscar instead.”

“Pretty sure I knew how to do that before coming here, Brooklyn is great but you go down the wrong alley or piss off the wrong person and you could be in a world of hurt. My dad taught me how to protect myself and I caught the hang of it pretty quickly.” She bragged a little, but she knew she was good and she was going to make a point of showing off when here. Especially if it meant putting men back in their place. “Noted. Doesn’t change the fact that you just referred to me as a Princess and I’m the furthest thing from being a Princess.”

“Brooklyn? What realm is that in?” Dante asked with a tilted head. “Is it Zenith? That place always seemed weird to me. I mean techsquirrels? I’ll believe ‘em when I see ‘em,” he mused with a roll of his eyes. “But knowing how to protect yourself is useful. The professors here will just help you bring that up a notch,” Dante added more seriously. While he had a flair for the dramatics, he did appreciate what was taught at the university. “Look, I know you’re probably sick of people asking you things about royal life, but you can’t exactly remain anonymous or something. I mean your face and family name are plastered on every damn brochure or magazine about Crescere, everyone knows who you are here.”

“Okay, I’m here,” Logan said when she got to the destination the other had given. “Now what was so important that I had to stay up till midnight for? You’re cutting into my precious sleep hours.”

“I hear you can run into some pretty cool creatures if you venture near the forest, so I thought it was about time I went to go see if the stories were true,” Dante shrugged. “Are you going to join me, or are you too scared?”

“As you should be, you shouldn’t just look at me and think ‘oh she’s so sweet and innocent.’” Darcy spoke in a sweet and maybe a little too sickly voice, “You should I can be a force to be reckoned with, super scary, fear my wrath.” She said, trying to pull off a menacing face but not sure if it actually landed. “But you’re right, I don’t need a calendar to plot my revenge, maybe next time you’ll learn not to laugh at me.” Darcy smiled at the other, her face brightening ever so slightly upon hearing him chuckle, “We can be old people together, you as a grumpy old man and me as a grandma who likes to bake things and knit.” She told the other, giving him a small nudge. “I could- I could help with that, you know… the sleeping. My friend is an earth fairy and I’m sure there’ll be some potion or serum or something with lavender that would help.”

“Duly noted. Although I hope you don’t make that face when you do unleash your wrath, because it feels a little too cute to be wrath-worthy. But then again what do I know?” Dante shrugged playfully. “I’ll definitely be keeping out for any potential Darcy-pranks or revenge plots though,” he added with a brief laugh. “That’s quite the plan. I’ll most likely invest in a cane that I can shake when I’m grumbling at people to get off of the front lawn,” Dante added jokingly. “I mean I hear lavender’s great for that stuff, but there’s no way it’ll just cure my insomnia. Right? Surely if that was the case, lavender would be flying off of the shelves or something.”

“How can I trust that you won’t? I’ve been promised things like that before for it all to blow up in my face,” Charlie told the other. “You could say that. It’s actually nice to be here and not be harassed by them every minute for something I may or may not say to the world back in my realm.”

“I guess you’ll just have to take my word for it. A big potential risk, of course. But what other choice do you really have?” he countered, a sense of playfulness to his tone since he had the upper hand here in some ways. “I can imagine so. But there must be some ways they’re trying to keep an eye on you from afar, no? Is there like a list of things you can and can’t talk about, even in casual conversations away from your home realm?”

“I mean, I suppose it depends on what you like but I think so. If you’re around sometime near the dorms, I’d be happy to let you have a look. I’m not a professional but maybe you could give me some constructive criticism. Photographing people when they don’t realise you are doing it is wonderful too, especially with all the abilities around here.”

“I must admit I am pretty curious to see your work,” he nodded in response. “Photographing people when they don’t realize? Sounds like you might just be the university’s very own paparazzi,” Dante teased her. “They should recruit you for the yearbook or something.”

“But if you’ve never actually experienced a moment of fear yet that would evoke that kind of reaction, how would you know?” Darcy pointed out to the other as she gave him a pointed look, “To me you look like a shrill screamer.” She continued to the tease the other, but in reality she imagined it would take a lot to scare the other to get that kind of reaction from him, especially he seemed to fear nothing. “Well, aren’t I just a mix of all those three things?” She questioned the other with a small laugh, “So therefore it makes sense that I do in fact take afternoon naps and honestly, if you don’t, you’re really missing out. They’re the best.”

“All of this fear talk really makes me weary of your plans. Thank god April Fools is up, although something tells me you don’t need the calendar to tell you when you can prank or not,” he thought out loud, knowing that with Darcy anything was possible. “Now that you say that... I hate that I see it,” he couldn’t help but chuckle. “I mean perhaps I’d consider it, but I have a hard time enough falling asleep as night let alone in the afternoon. Not everyone is a child-senior-citizen-cat hybrid capable of sleeping on command like you.”

“It’ll be fine?” Charlie repeated, “What does that mean exactly?” He couldn’t have anyone finding out about this who wasn’t in his inner circle. “I don’t. My equerry does, because I say and do stupid things like this and they’ve learnt over time I’m not to be trusted with confidential information.”

“I won’t snitch, okay?” Dante finally said. “That’s what it means.” After the man’s explanation, his eyebrow still rose curiously. “I see. I imagine you guys must have publicists, right? You must have them working overtime, huh?”

“You don’t what the Mothman is? Do they teach you anything good in this place?” Kit couldn’t help but scoff, because if these people were so cut off from her world, she wasn’t sure she was going to survive. She was already starting to miss Brooklyn and was tempted to go back to her father and beg them to go back home. “I’m sorry, did you just say princess?” Kit asked the other, not being able to stop the shock on her face and the laughter from coming out her mouth, “My man if that was a big up line, then you really used it on the wrong gal, I’m not your princess type.” 

“I can basically turn a man into a shish kebab with the right weapon, so I’d say they teach some decent stuff around here all the same,” he replied, although he was definitely considering looking into more information about the Mothman later out of pure curiosity. “Yes I did,” Dante nodded his head as though it were the most obvious thing in the world. “Pfft, trust me. If I was pulling a move on you it’d be much more original than calling you ‘princess’. That’s been way too overused over the years if you ask me.”

“Look up my name along with the prince of Dyamond’s and you’ll be well informed of our scandals. The news sure liked to capture the moments where we were at our worst, that’s for sure.” Eren shook his head, “I know a lot of people, me included are being swamped with assignments and tests right now, maybe when they’re over I could throw out some fliers. Get the word out for us to throw a big rager down by the lake or something.”

“The prince of Dyamond, you say? Well, clearly subtly isn’t your forte,” Dante couldn’t help but respond. “Good call. No use in throwing a party that nobody will attend after all,” he nodded. “It could even be some sort of end of year celebration where we take advantage of the freedom that comes with finish off our final assignments and exams.”

Halliwell appeared to radiate relief, handling the camera with care as she almost petted the piece of equipment, toying with the different parts for a moment before returning it to its rightful position around her neck. “Yes. I did plan to which was why this was so frustrating. Why?”

“Ah, no real reason,” Dante admitted with a light shrug of his shoulders. “I was just wondering. I guess there’s no reason why you wouldn’t be photographing them but I was just curious all the same. Does the university photograph well?”

“I think snickering is even worse then laughing, it seems more cruel and at my expense.” Darcy continued to glare at the other, her arms remaining crossed over her chest. “See, as much as you probably protest, I know you.” She told the other, poking him lightly in the chest. “Exactly, makes me come across as more intimidating and you’ll never know when I’m about to strike. I look forward to hearing your scream like a little girl.” Darcy let out a small snort because she did go about bouts of not being able to sleep and always found herself in the kitchen, “People who function normally, is that why you’re always so grumpy? Because you don’t get your afternoon nap?”

“Perhaps it’s a little bit of that,” Dante couldn’t help but jest, always enjoying getting a reaction out of the other. When she turned the tables on him and gave him a poke he swatted it away in artificial discomfort. He didn’t actually mind it, the two were often messing with one another. “What makes you think I’d scream like that? Or scream at all really? I feel like in a moment of fear, I’d be more of a shouter,” Dante reasoned. “Afternoon nap? Do you take those? I thought the only people who took afternoon naps were children, senior citizens and cats.”

“Thank you.” Blair commented as though the other gave her a genuine compliment, holding her hand to her heart. “I do practice my scowl in the mirror so it’s good to know it’s actually working in warding people away.” Blair let out a small noise and looked to the other, “Would you rather I compare you to our Father, neither are a good option.” Blair hesitated for a moment before sliding the tablet over to he other, “Graphic novel. Something I’ve been working on for a while now, it’s no biggie though.”

Dante rolled his eyes lightly at her response, clearly enjoying the concept of her not being an approachable person. “Perhaps neither are a good option to you, but I much prefer that comparison to the prior,” he shrugged simply. Neither had the best relationship with their father, he’d made sure of that, but for some reason Dante still had a fascination with him. A need for validation from him. “Oh?” he rose a brow as Blair admitted what she was working on. “What’s the graphic novel about?”
