I've always been partial to Enormous Eldritch Whale Scarlet King. Whales are terrifying and I feel like people don't fear them enough because modern culture has flanderized them into Lisa Frank posters, whereas the truth is that NO LIVING THING SHOULD BE THAT ENORMOUS. THEY FUCKING USE SUBSONIC FREQUENCIES TO SEND VIBRATIONS ACROSS THE ENTIRE OCEAN. THEY DEVOUR LIVING CREATURES BY THE TENS OF THOUSANDS TO FEED THEIR ENORMOUS BULK. So, according to Clef himself, the original Scarlet King that was mentioned in SCP-231 and 2317 before Dust and Blood or Tufto's proposal... isn't real. The cult was formed around self-made lies and mythos, and then, by "miracle", they've found something way to horrible (A.K.A. an ancient Beast from beyond the stars) that they corrilated with their made-up deity called "The Scarlet King", which would impregnate the seven girls from 231.

Now, the question: What did they found?.

There are multiple options, and these are:

1) A generic eldritch abomination.

2) SCP-2317-K, the Dread Devourer of Worlds. Although Clef has said that The Devourer isn't the Scarlet King, he also said that SK doesn't exist, so maybe the thing that they've found was the incorporeal or spiritual form of 2317-K.

3) Satan. Yes, SK is just the devil. Which fits perfectly with Clef's proposal of The Gate Guardian: The Heavens against the Dragon.

4) Somewhat all of the above: Either Satan is the Devourer and/or the Eldritch thing, or the Devourer/Eldritch thing are the inspiration of Satan. And maybe 2317-K could be the Eldritch thing.

What if the cult, through carrying out their horrible activities, created the Scarlet King?

It's not an ancient evil. It just wants everyone to think that it is. And it's rewriting history to do so.
