Not meaning to be rude at all because he is a very respectable looking man but how fortunate for (almost) everyone involved that the original casting for Palpatine (Alan Webb) had to drop out due to illness and we somehow got Ian McDiarmid, who is only seven years older than Mark Hamill, but looks like his grandpappy here. Allowing him to come back and play the character we love (and hate) for decades on.
