A Romantic At Heart

"Because I mean it." He said, taking her hands in his- away from her face and hair. "Sina…. you’re the most beautiful woman to ever cross my eyes. So sweet and caring… I just..- I love you, Katherine. I’ll be damned if I let that go."

Her eyes meet his, the emotion burning in his magenta eyes as he spoke to her. “I…I love you, too…” she says softly, squeezing his hands and smiling just a little bit. “B-but, you deserve better than me…you’re a Corporal.”

"My rank doesn’t matter in this situation. You deserve much more then me, but I hope I can be enough.” He said, leaning into her touch, moving her hands to his face, caressing them softly. 

The red-head sighs, stepping closer to Daniel until she was in his arms and stares up at him with a dreamy gaze. “I…don’t want anyone but you…” she says.

"Good. I’m…. really happy to hear that." He said, smiling as he wrapped his arms around her and nuzzled into her hair. He looked down at her dreamily as she looked back at him.

Before he could react, a kiss was placed upon his lips and he chuckled as she looked away. His hand gently caressed her cheek and turned her back towards him. He leaned in slowly, and kissed her gently- as his hand ran through her hair.

"Because I mean it." He said, taking her hands in his- away from her face and hair. "Sina…. you’re the most beautiful woman to ever cross my eyes. So sweet and caring… I just..- I love you, Katherine. I’ll be damned if I let that go."

Her eyes meet his, the emotion burning in his magenta eyes as he spoke to her. “I…I love you, too…” she says softly, squeezing his hands and smiling just a little bit. “B-but, you deserve better than me…you’re a Corporal.”

"My rank doesn’t matter in this situation. You deserve much more then me, but I hope I can be enough.” He said, leaning into her touch, moving her hands to his face, caressing them softly. 

The red-head sighs, stepping closer to Daniel until she was in his arms and stares up at him with a dreamy gaze. “I…don’t want anyone but you…” she says.

"Good. I'm.... really happy to hear that." He said, smiling as he wrapped his arms around her and nuzzled into her hair. He looked down at her dreamily as she looked back at him.

He was desperately looking around for the younger man, fearing he was buried too deep in the debris. But then Lee heard a faint voice, now becoming louder. He ran toward the sound, finding Daniel now pinned under a support beam. Lee dove down to his side, running his hand over his face just to make sure he was alright. “Sina, Danny…Don’t worry, I’ll get you out of here…” Lee’s attention went to the beam, trying to figure out the easiest way for him to move it off of Daniel. “I’ll lift, but I’ll need you to push as well. Then you can slide out, alright?”

Daniel leaned his head back against the floor and took in a deep breath. He sighed heavily, and looked up when he felt hands on his face and saw Leeland’s worried golden eyes. He sighed in complete relief and put his hand over Lee’s on his cheek. He nodded. “O- Okay…” He responded, feeling a bit nervous as he felt the ground tremble beneath them. 

Lee nodded, removing his hands from him as he moved to lift the beam. It was hard to do, and it almost slipped out of his hands a few time. But he needed to keep his strength if he wanted to save Daniel. With a grunt, he got it up high enough that the younger man should be able to slid out. “Hurry, Danny…I don’t know how long I can hold this….”

Daniel winced as Leeland lifted the beam high enough, and with his elbows, did his best to slide away from the beam. His legs hurt fiercely, and he wanted to cry out in relief and pain as he managed to get away. Danny lay back against the floor in a giant heap, breathing heavy. He tried to sit up, to get a look at the gear he hoped wasn’t too bad…

Once Daniel was free, Leeland dropped the beam. He was huffing as he kneeled beside the man, helping him sit up right. Lee looked him over, worry clear in his eyes. “Are you okay? Are you hurt anywhere?” Leeland didn’t want to show this kind of weakness he felt when he was worried, but Daniel pulled it to the surface. He cared too much for the boy to not show this emotion.

Daniel groaned when Leeland came to help him, a hand on his right leg. The fabric of his boot was shredded, showing through his pant leg and to the bloody mess that was staining. Danny tried to cover it before Leeland came over, but it was too late. "I-I'm fine. We need to get out of here."

"Because I mean it." He said, taking her hands in his- away from her face and hair. "Sina…. you’re the most beautiful woman to ever cross my eyes. So sweet and caring… I just..- I love you, Katherine. I’ll be damned if I let that go."

He was desperately looking around for the younger man, fearing he was buried too deep in the debris. But then Lee heard a faint voice, now becoming louder. He ran toward the sound, finding Daniel now pinned under a support beam. Lee dove down to his side, running his hand over his face just to make sure he was alright. “Sina, Danny…Don’t worry, I’ll get you out of here…” Lee’s attention went to the beam, trying to figure out the easiest way for him to move it off of Daniel. “I’ll lift, but I’ll need you to push as well. Then you can slide out, alright?”

Another deep breath and he was up. Daniel looked down at Anna and smirked. “That is also true. However, you’re not the one who got thrown off it, thank Sina.”

She lightly pinched her cheek, feeling bliss he would always put her first. “Shall we head back and put the horses back in the stable?”

He nodded at that. “Sounds like a good idea. I’ve had enough of four legged creatures for today.”

"Okay then—" She let go of Daniel, hoping he was able to walk on his own. She went over to the horses and was able to grab the one he had fallen off. As long as he had no one on his back, the horse wouldnt buck.

Daniel stood where he was and watched Anna take the horses they were practicing with. He smiled softly as he picked off leaves from his jacket. He walked over awkwardly, sighing heavily.

She brought the large animals towards him. “Do you want to walk my horse back?”

"And have you take the wild one? Noooo thank you." He said, reaching for the other horse's reigns. 

He had already unsheathed a blade from his gear, the boy taking on a very defensive stance as he saw the enemy come nearer. Daniel turned to look at Lee as he tugged at his sleeve. “Lee- get out of here!”

"I’M NOT LEAVING WITHOUT YOU!" Lee let go of Danny but drew his own swords as well. "You’ll have to make me before the titans come then."

"Leeland-" Daniel gritted his teeth, but turned as the ground shook fiercely to see a Titan rushing towards them. Without a word, he zipped forward as his gear took him flying high above the rooftops. 

Leeland followed the younger man, staying close on his tail. He was going to stay close to Daniel, swearing that he’d protect him to the death. He didn’t want to see anything happen to that sweet boy. And if he had to go home without Daniel, he’d rather not go home at all. 

The young Corporal projected himself over the roofs, eyes the nape of the Titan coming towards them. With a flick of his wrist, his hook shot out and attached itself to the monster, pressing hard on the gas as he got close and swung his arms around, blades blazing. 

Following after the young man, Lee sped past him onto the next titan. This one was a bit bigger than the one Daniel was facing, which meant nothing to Lee. He knew exactly what he had to do still. Dropping low, Lee skidded between the titan’s legs to appear behind him. Before the thing could realize that it needed to turn around, Lee had his hooks into it’s back to reel himself up. He didn’t have much momentum going, but his strength made up for it, and sliced the titan’s neck wide open. He released himself as the monster fell to the ground, landing on a rooftop to catch his breath.

Daniel hooked onto a nearby building and landed on the roof opposite of Leeland as he caught his breath. He turned around, hearing heavy footsteps and saw another two out of the corner of his eye. Daniel unsnapped the blades from his handles and was about to click the fresh pair on. The first Titan had already come up before he could react and its hand came down onto the rooftop, caving in and taking the boy with it. 

Another deep breath and he was up. Daniel looked down at Anna and smirked. “That is also true. However, you’re not the one who got thrown off it, thank Sina.”

She lightly pinched her cheek, feeling bliss he would always put her first. “Shall we head back and put the horses back in the stable?”

He nodded at that. “Sounds like a good idea. I’ve had enough of four legged creatures for today.”

She gave him a nod. “I’m fine.” Wondering if she should help him sit up, she reached a hand out for his shoulder. “Are you alright?” 

"Yeah…. I think I’ll be fine." He sighed, as he groaned to sit up. Everything began to spin and he closed his eyes again. "I hope."

Anna scooted closer to hold him as he looked like he was going to fall again. “Careful now, take it easy.”

"Anna, I’m fine." He looked over at her. "Don’t worry too much. Embarrassing to be taken out by a horse rather then a Titan." He joked.

She smiled, trying to keep him from knowing how worried she was. “I know, but you have to remember its a new horse too. This is its first time being ridden.”

"Yeah, true." He sighed, as he began to get to his feet. "And who other then the youngest officer to help and train it." He groaned again.

"Yeah, but we’re doing this together," her smile grew as they rose together. She kept one hand on his shoulder and the other on her back to help him keep steady.
