one’s blind and falls in love with the other’s voice AU ((I WANT THIS FOR DANNY [the blind one] AND NAT. CAN WE PLEASE EVEN THOUGH WE HAVE A BILLION THINGS ALREADY????))
It was like trying to finish a puzzle blindfolded. Actually… that’s exactly what it was. Daniel was still trying to cope with his new found disability, relying on others to help him. It wasn’t good trying to get around on his own as he managed to get lost behind alleyways, or even on the boat- riding it for 6+ hours before someone realized he might be lost.
Many of his friends helped him as much as they could, but not as much as one woman did, by the name of Natalia. He couldn’t figure out her face, although he heard she had freckles and all- the now mere thought making him smile in his sleep. Even with the darkness all around him, she still managed to make him laugh with her soft, sweet voice as she helped him with his hearing skills- making sure that one day he could function normally in everyday life.
Voice. It was all he could rely on now, sounds and mixtures of voices his now most reliant sense he could have. His ears trained more on the sounds made- people laughing, birds squawking in the distance and the occasional ringing of the tower bell. It wasn’t much to look forward too, relying on a collapsable stick to make sure you don’t walk into walls.
However…. her voice made his day every day. The way it sounded when he knew she was smiling, or laughing along with him- her sweet chime of laughter echoing happily in his ears. It made every day brighter, knowing that he’d get to hear that perfect voice, the soft whisper of her voice- ever changing as the days went by.
He couldn’t help but fall in love.
