So it was times like this where having a support based persona like Yukari’s would have been useful. Oh well, there wasn’t much he could do besides give moral support.*

*To be honest all the concepts and themes of the cover were lost on him. The only thing he gathered was that there probably wasn’t going to be any lyrics which Neku had just pointed out. That and the album was probably going to be a bestseller since this was CAT they were talking about.*

“So you gonna buy it?”

    “Don’t bash someone’s voice until you’ve heard it.” Neku could only imagine what Hanekoma’s voice sounded like. He imagined the voice of an angel… but maybe that was just wishful thinking.

    Neku flipped the case in his hands and nodded. “Course I’m gonna buy it. And knowing me I’ll probably have listened to it three times over by tomorrow.” He chuckled.

*From what he could remember Hanekoma was alright at singing but not something you’d want to buy. Well he wasn’t going to shoot Neku’s train of thought about the matter so he decided to let him be the judge on that front. However once Neku asked him was he going to buy something Beat grinned and held up a record of his own, although this wasn’t really for him but rather for Rhyme.*

“That’s what I just said, it don’t make sense right? Wait, so priss kid didn’t erase you or send you to be reincarnated? Then how’re you here? Ah whatever, it don’t matter.”

*Beat was a reaper for a week and so the rules should’ve been somewhat recalled but nope, none of the rules were memorised. Although he supposed it made sense that a reaper couldn’t just go off and kill a person in the RG.*

“It’s not like anyone’s gonna understand what I’m talkin’ about. ‘Sides it’s not that I’m too trusting or anything like that, you just look like you could need a hand and it’s not like you gain something by attacking me.”

After a while of running the male finally slowed down and placed her back onto the ground to see how bad the wound was and if anyone he knew could help them out. However while they were waiting the least he could do was answer some of her questions.*

    Neku weaved in and out of the aisles of CDs, books and vinyls until he honed in on what he was looking for. Of course he always knew where to find CATs stuff since he visited the place so often.

    He honed in on CATs CDs and started flipping through. All of them he recognized- except one that had a light pink spine with the word ‘Promise’ on it. He picked it up and took a look at the cover. It was a bunch of sheet music laid out on a hardwood floor with a violin on top of them, and the bow delicately resting on the strings. 

“Guess it makes sense, I mean we’s the only ones who know who CAT is. ‘Sides I don’t think he’d be that good at singing.”

*To be honest all the concepts and themes of the cover were lost on him. The only thing he gathered was that there probably wasn’t going to be any lyrics which Neku had just pointed out. That and the album was probably going to be a bestseller since this was CAT they were talking about.*

“Wait so you’s the reaper that was crushed huh!? I shouldn’t really freak out about that here , my bad. The place ain’t too far from here besides it ain’t much but if you need a place to crash you can stay with me. It’ll be noisy though ‘cause of rehearsing.”

*Beat liked to see people laugh, maybe that was because it made him feel like he could get away from all the shit he had gone through in his life but like with everything else it was too hard to accomplish so he should stop while he was ahead.*

   Not gonna do well huh…? Sounded strikingly familiar to himself once upon a time.

“’ain’t gonna do well with it’ Well, even if you think you won’t do well with whatever it is ya wanna do, i still think it’s worth giving a shot, so even if it doesn’t work out. hey, at least you tried to make it happen.”

“It’s cool, catch your breath man. I mean I did take it easy on ya but I guess you ain’t the sporty type Phones.”

*It was just something Beat found himself doing, at the beginning it was just a way to get away from the stuff that was bothering him but after a while it became second nature to him. After all having people expect something from you and not meeting those expectations was a pain that running and skating seemed to alleviate somewhat.*

    Luckily it didn’t take very long for Neku to catch his breath, though he was a little shaky. He knew he should probably eat but that could wait a little bit. Once he was finally recovered his stretched his back out and took one last deep breath.

    “No kidding, but you’re at least built for running and you could even hold your own in a fist fight. The only physical attributes that give me an upper hand are red hair and freckles. Even then, it’s not much.” If he was going in the looks category anyways. Neku knew he couldn’t hold himself in a fight and wanted to change that, but didn’t really know where to start. Though a can of mace would be equally as effective.

“So you take pictures? Don’t it get boring after a while?”

*As soon as he was asked the same thing in return Beat would also give an honest answer, even if he thought it was probably something most guys do.*

“Not much, running and skating…that about it. I ain’t into anything else, well there’s one more thing but I ain’t that good at it yet.”

“eh, i always seem to find something interesting to photograph, so it doesn’t get boring for me. Photographing for the bands in the city’s always pretty fun too.”

The mention of “another thing” intrigued the reaper. Even if the other was right about not being that good yet, he was interested to find out what this other thing was.
