Screaming Trees-Wish Bringer (1989 Video)
taken from this interview... GLC made an edit too but the second half was out of sync so i re-edited it.
GLC: "The world premier of the somewhat restored lost Screaming Trees video for the song Wish Bringer, from the 1989 SST album Buzz Factory. It wasd directed by our friend Kathy Malloy and shot in our rehearsal space in the back of New World Video and around Ellensburg. It was never released but we played a test version with a time code during a German TV interview with Van Conner and Sean Hollister on our 1990 European tour. The video quality is not very good and was interrupted in the middle by the interview. It also has a German text runner but I'm not sure what it's saying. I managed to piece it back together with a good quality audio track, enjoy..."
tempted to make a huge list for all the ST/lanegan interviews i can find (like the one cireme made for all the tracks lanegan participated in..) but ive been rly busy recently😢

op's descriptions:
Van Conner of SCREAMING TREES
I'd met them a few years before, hung out with the whole band, and have a really funny dour radio station I.D. that Mark Lanegan did for me to show for it, but didn't own my Polaroid Captiva at the time, so no pics. Then I ran into them once they were hugely famous. I owned about 5 Polaroid Captivas, but this time Mr. Lanegan was hiding. This time, in speaking with Van about recent vinyl finds, I mentioned that I'd gotten an unplayed original promo copy of the soundtrack to the 70's children's television show, ZOOM!I made him a copy.He posed for photos and signed things. Here you go.
Barrett Martin of SCREAMING TREES
He looks very studly here. He's been on lots of records and stages that you may have heard and seen.Wow, what a bad sentence. Wasn't I an English major?Tuatara, Screaming Trees, Mad Season, Skin Yard (with Jack Endino, baby!),and of course Barrett Martin Group, among others.

QotSA - 2002.10.17 - Ambassador Theatre, Dublin

OP's descriptions:
Previously unpublished 35mm photo of mine, done in teenage poster style. First time I published a photo of this gig, it ended up on the cover of an Italian QOTSA bootleg. Ciao to residuals but hello being part of the lore. 🥲😂🥰
Anyhoo, this was an incredible gig. I swagged a photo pass and got pit pix for first 8 songs. Was sooo heavy. 1100 crowd. When Oliveri, Lanegan & Homme were lined up, everyone knew this was one of the greatest heavy rock bands ever. For just a little while (QOTSA still great but we all know 1998-2005 years were wildest).
Aftershow, I was talking with Troy who had a full bottle of Bushmills. “Any ice?” He asked. I checked with manager I knew but he said no. Incredible! Chatted with Joey a bit too. Josh was chatting with the Irish support band. Man he was huge from behind. Caught Lanegan in hallway. “Is it packed in there?” He asked me, referring to the aftershow party in the upstairs bar. “Yeah, fairly packed.” I said. Mark muttered a “hmm OK” and turned around back to the hallway heading to the green rooms in the bowels of the old theatre which used to be a cinema.
Then I met Bronagh Gallagher, actor in The Commitments and Pulp Fiction. She’s from Derry and we both were like “amazing gig!” and bantered a moment.
I have more pix from this show and will share more in time.
Meanwhile, to paraphrase Kasey Kasem: keep your feet on the frozen border, and keep reaching for the gospel plow (plough). ✨🫡🎤☠️🖤
Mark Lanegan - 25 November, 2001 - Whelan's, Dublin
📷Conor O'Hara (ins)
OP's descriptions:
Previously unpublished 35mm B&W prints of Lanegan on his birthday playing at Whelan's in Dublin, 25 November, 2001. Great show; his first in Ireland. The Irish Lanegan fans were always a mature, diverse and chilled group of people - no BS artists, just music fans.
The band included Dave Catching, who gregariously invited everyone up to the green room afterwards, and we all hung out for a while in a crowded small space. I earwigged on some young fella asking Lanegan fanboy questions about Screaming Trees, which he patiently - and soberly - answered.
Apologies for the blurred pix - it was low light, no flash, and not easy to photograph, but then this was long before Lanegan embraced the positive aspects of his role.
Prints made last summer by my friend Andy Dawson, who is now dying from Motor Neurone Disease. Cherish your friends, folks, and keep digging the tunes.
