Reasons my new physics prof is adorable

- on the first day of class he brought his favorite toy truck from when he was a child - is from Argentina and has a cute accent and sometimes speaks in Spanish on accident - teaches us Spanish phrases for fun - very tall and awkward and has super curly hair that falls into his face constantly - giggles at his own jokes - on the second day of class he showed us pictures of his cat eating a salami - the cat’s name is Pants

- i saw his teaching notes today and he doodles little flowers in the margins of his notebook

It’s now the middle of summer. I do research in the physics department, my office is right across the hall from his. And so:

- He knows I’m into observational astronomy and despite him being a nuclear astrophysicist himself he will email me (and some of the other observationalists) interesting articles and videos about astronomy, usually and around 2am, the poor insomniac

- He became a dad yesterday! In his email he said “sorry, I won’t be in this week, I’ll be frantically googling how to take care of a newborn instead”

- his last name is Estrada and so I simply replied “congratulations on becoming an Estradad!!!” To which he replied “:D”

my favorite part in attack of the clones is when obi-wan just fucks off to play space nancy drew on Clone Rain Planet with the alarming giraffe-necked aliens and swans in like “HELLO IT’S ME, the jedi who definitely… … was here before and probably, uh, spoke to you, and stuff” and theyre like “ah you are here for the order” and hes like “beg pardon” and theyre like “the order of millions of identical human men?” and hes like “RIGHT YES. ABSOLUTELY I AM HERE FOR THE ORDER OF MILLIONS OF IDENTICAL HUMAN MEN”

and then later when he SNEAKS INTO A CORNER TO FUCKING… facetime yoda… like “ok so we have these millions of identical human men who were apparently suspiciously ordered for us by someone???” and yodas fucking response is just “when countless sapient lemons life gives you…….. send those lemons into intergalactic battle you must”

and obi-wan’s like “shit man you’re so right"

I love that this shows both sides, how society is ingrained to see women as baby-makers and men as walking wallets who’s only worth is if they make good cash. Both are equally demeaning and limiting in different ways.

Everyone’s posting stuff of Comic-Con this weekend and I’m like....... Well....I went to D23 last weekend and saw: -Auli’i Cravalho -Paige O’Hara -Jodi Benson -Anika Noni Rose - Mark Hamill -Whoopi Goldberg -Oprah Winfrey -Alan Menken (in concert) -And many others, especially at the Disney Legends panel. Also, some famous Youtubers, including Brian Hull the guy who does songs in all the different character voices soo....I think I’m good for now. :P
