{❀} The snide remarks of the other trainee’s rang in her ear, her back pressed against the side of the break room outside as two of the guys kept talking, kept making those snide remarks and comments towards her—- Weren’t they a year or two above her? Should they have been making these remarks;

                              “She’s way too old to be joining the military,”

"She probably knows the higher ups."

                               ”From what I saw she can’t even fight.”

"Why the hell are you still here huh?"

Sometimes she didn’t like humans at all. They were fighting for the same cause right? To stop the titans and save humanity? So why was this sort of discrimination happening? Wait, no, not all had the same goal in mind. Ashley should have realized this from her father in the Military police; some wanted security, luxury over doing what was right.

                                To fight…                                                 To fight for what was right.

But still…the discrimination that she had gotten in through the higher ups, sure, she knew Levi and Irvin but they had no idea she had joined the military, hell, they would have been against it.

"How weak and pathetic. It’s almost a joke if the military is accepting this."

Despite joining the military, she wasn’t a violent person at all and she took it all as they sneered down at her, fist curling up slowly and then releasing as she looked up at them and a soft, weak laughter left her. It made them look at her more and glare.

    “I-I understand now…” She said, this was it.                         “You guys…” This was why she was accepted into the military.                                       “Are really scared of—-.”

The reason was not because she could fight, but because of how smart she was, her ability to think calm in a situation ( theoretically at least, she still had no field experience ) She was able to read people by the look in their eyes, tell if they were good,bad, sad, happy, angry or regretting choices. Not to mention the tactical side of her mind was something that would be valued once polished over the next three years…

         But what ymir had already taken care of? As if she ever stood up for someone, as if she would ever put her life on a risk for someone. She would never act like this for some people she didn't even talked to, and even if her fear from death is too strong---She wasn't stupid, not at all, not even a little bit. She had a brain that she used, even if it's not often occurred when it was used. One she knew she had to do something to survive, life isn't fair, not at all---No matter how many sacrifices she had made. Nevertheless, there was one person that was left out for all of ymir. A very important person. This person was worth more than her own life, the life of the female, ordinary, really.

                                         How pathetic.

           With quick movements she went ahead, no need was there to stay and look at some people getting drunk and acting stupid. No purpose was there to deal with the little kids or rather say to entertain them, the children who had watched the dancing titan with light eyes. Actally, she didn't even deserve this. But that was another story---Well, however after all the situations that happened the past weeks people got a good target before their eyes, the people become slowly hope, and so does the children. They admired the people who risk their lives for the survival and information for citizens. But was it even worth?

"Admiring people...Watching them. What's the thing you got for it? This feeling is all useless. You better run home and do things for yourself. I have no use if you watch me and run after me---"

Steps forward in the direction of the girl, that was insecure in her own situation have been made, even now after all this was going on in her head. That she is protecting anyone ever, was it all just talking? She is going to make a risk for someone unnecessary, and certainly for someone she didn't even know and she promise never to do some something like this, for no one--It was crazy, crazy that she didn't hold her own word, it was scary, it was stupid.

"Are you going to hit a lady?"

                              "Are you going to slap her?"

                                                    "And you call yourself a man?"

                                                               "Come on boy, let's play."

                                                                           "I'm going to show you how a woman fights."       

          "I've got reasons. After all, I'm a free woman who can have some little secrets."
