sometimes you know someone for years but all it takes is one night to see them differently one unusually chilly March night, drink in hand, when he turns around and looks at you like he's never seen you before when you're talking to different people, but your eyes meet and you know when you're at a restaurant with all your friends and text each other under the table "I really want to kiss you right now" and it only happens every couple months, when you have just enough to drink to blame it on that next thing you know, the person you've been friends with for years has you pinned down in the backseat of their car, hand knotted so tight in your hair you can't move even if you wanted to next thing you know, the person you've been friends with for years is calling you in the quiet morning hours, drunk and lonely next thing you know, you're not really friends any more and the lines get blurry and you have different expectations but you keep going next thing you know, you hold hands one too many times and your friends notice you're texting each other all the time and your friends notice but it's not about love it's not even about friendship anymore it's about comfort comfort found in holding hands, in back rubs, in neck nuzzling, in cuddling, in nips and kisses
