She is, she is very cute. But she is also obsessed with my face and I like breathing.

Nah, you’re lovable. I mean, I did fall for your charm after all. Alright, pretty princess. I can believe that, I mean remember when that bird pooped on you? That was gold. 

I am not a princess, I am a queen. Get your facts straight smouldering stable boy. No, that was not gold. That was disgusting and you promised you'd never speak of it again. It pooped on my head!

Oh my god, that's amazing! So you can get away from your mother and that asshole now? What did she say?

What papers? What's going on?

Yeah, she thinks you make a great pillow or she just likes your bed. She likes to nap on it and I guess your face got in the way. 

Or she likes me, is that too hard to believe? You're not Dr. Doolittle you know, I have a way with the animals. I could be like Snow White with the woodland creatures, but they'd just get in the way here.

I do, just not when she's lying on my face. Not breathing isn't the best way to start a day.

"Mmm, maybe."  Jessica teased a little, sending her hand underneath Daniel’s shirt to run along his abs. But she stopped when the conversation had gotten more serious and she had laid down next to him. "I know you’re scared, but I promise you everything is going to be okay." Jess had to think longer and harder about everything that she was going to say, afraid that she would say something stupid and make things worse. She knew there wasn’t anything she could say to make it better, but she needed to at least keep him calm. The last thing he needed was to be freaking out right now. "You’re going to get to walk across that stage on graduation day, that’s a good thing. I know I can’t fully understand what you’re going through because I’m not the one going through it but I of coarse understand why you’re upset. But you can’t waste the rest of your life being upset. You need to get out there and do everything that you want to accomplish because I know you can do it and I’m going to help you. I want you in my life no matter what, sick or not. And I’m going to be here for you every step of the way, whether you want it or not. You can’t do this alone and I’m not going to let you do this alone."

Daniel wanted to believe her, to be able to think that things would be fine. He never wanted to worry about dying anyways, but the timer on the clock was getting louder and he couldn't ignore it. "There's so much I'm missing out on though. I'm not going to see you on stage with the Rockettes, I'm not going to see Jay and Jaime singing in arenas around the world, or see Jeff doing ballet in England with Nick on the West End or Broadway. Everyone has so much coming up, and I can't be there to celebrate it with them." He had always accepted he wouldn't have a great ending, that he wouldn't be able to become a famous dancer like he knew he could under different circumstances, but the thought of not being there to see the people he loved going far in life was worse than anything else. He knew Jess was right, he couldn't get upset every day. He had to live his last days out, even if he was sick or too tired. "This will probably sound really stupid...but okay. When I was younger, I had this list. A bucket list, you've probably heard of them. It's around here somewhere, I brought it with me when I moved to New York thinking this would be the place to get shit done. And I've got a few things done," Daniel had never really been talked about it before, so he did feel a little flustered. "But when you just have a year to live out, it's hard to fit everything in. And some of those things will never happen. But maybe with your help, I could cross some more off. If you'd like to." Daniel took her hand in his, and tried giving her a smile, that didn't look forced or sad. "Are you okay?"
