West Coast Swing is a partner dance with roots in the Lindy Hop. It is characterized by an elastic look that results from its extension-compression technique of partner connection and is danced primarily in a slotted area on the dance floor.

Kick off the year with the 2019 White Party. Traditionally, New Year’s is a time of renewal. A time to put the issues of the past behind and look forward to the future and the new year. Many people do this symbolically by wearing all white. Make sure your base is white however, you can use colors for accent to attract different kinds of luck. White means peace and green is for good health, yellow for money, red to attract passion and romance and purple is for inspiration.

Come and start the year right and open it up doing the thing you love and surrounded by the people you like hanging with.

It’s an Appetizer Potluck! Please bring something to make it a feast. It’s always great to show off your cooking or baking, ok for those that don’t, your shopping, skills.

Party starts at 9:15PM after the lessons. Beginner at 7:15 and Intermediate at 8:15 as usual.

Miles Ogata

Miles started teaching Ballroom Dance in 1989. Since then he has worked as a coach, Dance Director, and a Studio Owner. He has won many top teacher awards and currently does Pro-Am (Professionals dancing with their students) events. Miles is versatile in many styles of dance, including International Standard & Latin, American Rhythm & Smooth, and Night Club dances including Salsa and West Coast Swing. He teaches amateurs as well as professionals.
