i love this guy
The children's show villain is a figure who sadly is not seen outside the children's show. There are few stock characters who as succinctly declare, from sheer stage presence, "the world is unloveable and it is painful to live here; that which delights mankind is like ash on my tongue" without being too fucking whiny about it.
maladaptive suicidal ideation: "i'm going to kill myself"
productive, growth mindset: "i'm going to steal all the instruments from Musictown!"
people who are like "but with universal healthcare you'll have to pay taxes!!! Up to 8%!!!" Are so funny. Like as opposed to the 16% of my gross paycheck that goes to private insurance, that won't cover shit unless i call my insurance company, then my doctor, then my pharmacy, then my doctor again because theyre pretty sure insurance got approved then my insurance company because they didn't get the letter, then my doctor again, then the pharmacy again, and then the copay i still am on the hook for.
never forget what's really important: approval from pervert women on the internet

this will get to the right people
is it weird if i say i genuinely wish there was more positivity aimed at people w large chests
"having a large chest is the beauty standard" no having a large chest is the Sexual standard theres a difference. i can only even be Hot and everything i ever wear will be deemed too sexual for every single situation. tank top shows too much cleavege or side boob a button up is always too busty and a crop top will always show too much skin. having a large chest leads to so much back pain and sexualization and complaining about it makes people go "ahh grass is alwahs greener/you are the beauty standard, why complain?" like genuinely i urge yall to watch anything with a larger chested woman and notice, REALLY notice, that her chest is her entire personality. notice that people critiqing misogynist charavter designs alwayd tend to rally in the statement that large chest=misogny, casting aside the Many Many Many women and people who look like Me and just . have a large chest? and exist? and deserve respect and not to be seen as nothing more than a sex symbol by both sides? idk ikdayy
"it's the beauty standard" says someone wilfully ignoring the fact that you can't be a mainstream model if you have a large chest. Capitalism and fast fashion also benefit from not having to put darts in the clothes to accommodate boobs. Fashion trends often gravitate towards cuts and silhouettes that can only be worn by flat chested folks, and without a bra. Plus if you have a big chest your body is constantly scrutinized for whether or not it's "natural". Also means fuck all if they are "natural" because someone will always insist you're lying and then wag a finger because of it.
Whenever I see someone refer to "Victorian era-" for places outside the UK I'm tempted to start saying shit like "Han Dynasty era Rome", "Soviet era Australia" etc
âWelcome to Soviet America, home of the McDonalds and Cocaine Cola. Long live Comrade Reagan.â
The Civil War, or as I like to call it, Late Tokugawa Period America
I know this is a joke but this helps me put a lot of historical periods into perspective.
"cowboys were a sort of itinerant warrior class common in meiji-era texas"
itâs funny cuz itâs true
There's an open pit in the middle of our office plan that drops down into a bunch of very sharp spikes that kill you instantly. This is bad. People keep falling in there and dying. Someone put a sign up, the other day, all bright yellow so you can't miss it, that says "Beware!!! Spikes!!!"
The office immediately split into two factions over it. One says that if anyone falls in the spike pit it's their own fault for being so stupid and not watching where they're walking, so we should remove the sign. The other says that the sign is an insult, there shouldn't be a spike pit in our office at all, and having the sign up like that is just normalising the existence of the spike pit, so we should remove the sign.
We ended up removing the sign. Probably for the better. Still... for a while there it looked like it might have worked...
Nobody has ever been capable of writing a scathingly harsh and well formulated satire about the perils of modern capitalism, that doesn't just get immediately one-upped by some random food service worker talking about their actual week.

Be me. Got new insurance. New insurance requires I transfer my prescription to their pharmacy. Sounds kinda scary but hey it'll be delivered to my house, that sounds nice. I have 7 pills left. That's one week. Should be fine.
I do the transfer. They call and tell me they're getting it ready. Wait a few days. Weird that it hasn't been delivered yet. Go to their website. Find out that even though the pharmacist called me to say they were prepping my meds, I was still expected to go online and "order" my transferred medication. Okay. My bad I guess. Maybe I should've known that. I have 4 pills left. That's 4 days. I'll eat the charge for expedited shipping and the pills will get here the day before I run out. Glad I got that sorted out. Sounds great.
Day before my pills are supposed to be delivered. I have a bad gut feeling. I check their website. Says there's been a problem with my order. My meds are out of stock. No news on when a restock would happen. Says they couldn't contact me because they don't have my number. Y'know. The number the pharmacist has already called me on before.
Have the option to order a substitute prescription but have to manually order it, not something they do automatically or that anyone reached out to offer because they don't have the number they already called me on apparently. Okay. I'll order the substitute prescription. Looks like the same meds in a different shaped tablet? Literally no idea what the difference is otherwise. Whatever. Gotta pay even more for same day shipping. Sure. Fuck it. It's literally my meds.
Two hours later. Bad gut feeling. Check the website. "Your order has been cancelled". "Please click here to read the pharmacist's reason". Click it. Field has been left blank. What the fuck. Update my contact info for a fifth time. Get another confirmation that I've submitted my phone number. I suspect it keeps not saving because I refuse to NOT unclick the "consent to advertising texts" option under my contact info. Place the order AGAIN.
Check back in an hour this time. "Order could not be fulfilled". "Click here to read why". Says that since I tried ordering a 30 day supply of my meds that are "out of stock", I can't get the substitution meds for at least 30 days. Even though they're supposed to be a sub-in. For the meds they can't give me. Because they are out of stock.
I am someone who cannot function without my medication because I have severe mental health issues. I have one pill left. That's one day. I have to save it for my work day because that's when I need to be functional. I spent today without my meds for the first time in 8 years. That's cold turkey. I'm already struggling with vertigo and the impulse to hurt myself. I love insurance companies. I love pharmacies. I love that the process of me maintaining a medication I've been on for years without so much as side effects constantly requires third parties spinning a finger around in my asshole. I love hearing that if I'm a good little boy and follow all the funny little steps maybe someone will decide to give me the pills I require to function on a level other people just get naturally. Really it's so fun and not humiliating at all. It's super cool that I can plan ahead enough to do this a week before I'd be totally out and I still ran out! Delicious! Thank you! Slap me again, Jeeves. I don't think I'm crying hard enough.
Something good will happen to me. I feel like something good is gonna happen. It's already reached me, so it's great. And it's getting further away. But I'm ready. I feel like I can do anything đ đ đ đ đ
Trumpâs unidentified secret police force was not prepared to meet this guy.

In case you, a U.S. voter, were feeling iffy about voting for Kamala Harris, hereâs a reminder of the shit that went down under TrumpâŠ
Yeah, remember when his administration SENT UNMARKED PARAMILITARY FORCES into cities to quell BLM protests? Not âriot policeâ - tactical, militarized units with identifying tags and numbers deliberately removed or obscured.
Oh shitâŠ. you probably forgot about that, didnât you? There was so much going on in 2020, itâs natural to block out stuff, but if you have the power and the privilege of voting in this yearâs elections donât you DARE allow this man back in office, especially when he is CURRENTLY saying stuff like this:
[x]
[x]
[x]
[x]
[x]
[x]
ARE YOU PAYING ATTENTION???
In case you were a kid in 2020 and protected from seeing what happened
You need to know whatâs at stake here. This stuff? was a TEST RUN. Look up everything that happened those years. Everything you can find from 2016 and Standing Rock to 2020 and Black Lives Matter and the Riots and then look up Jan 6 and the attempted coup on our government.
THEN VOTE

Love seeing something from TikTok and going âgirlie that is literally what led to the downfall of the Papal Statesâ
Jewish baby named Edgardo Mortara is seemingly about to die in Bologna, 1851
Catholic nanny secretly baptises him to save his soul, which sheâs not exactly the kind of authority who can do that, but w/e, itâs interpreted by the church as valid later
Kid survives
1857 her secret gets out, a baptising makes a kid a Catholic according to the Church and a Catholic canât be raised in a non-Catholic household in the Papal States, so the church authorises the police to kidnap Edgardo from his family
Raised personally by Pope Pius IX, Jewish family not allowed to take him back due to Church doctrine, this action destroys the family with grief and despair
This case gets international infamy with the Pope not understanding why everyoneâs shiting on him for doing this, including allies
Emperor Napoleon III shifts from opposing Italian unification to supporting it as a direct consequence
Bologna falls the next year, 1859
Kingdom of Italy forms 1861
By 1870 Rome is lost to the Italians and the Papal States are no more
(Edgardo Mortara goes on to become Father Mortara)
(He dies in Belgium in 1940 three months before the Nazis occupied the nation, which if heâd have lived he wouldâve been persecuted as a Jew)
Wikipedia confirms
Fun fact: the Catholic Church did not stop doing this after Edgaro Mortara. During WW2, many Jewish children were put in convents or catholic-run orphanages for their own safety. Sounds nice right? Except after the war ended, when parents or surviving relative went back to claim their children, the church went, âuhhh, actually theyâre catholic now, no take backs!â
The most infamous of these cases was the Finaly affair. Two Jewish children in France, Robert and Gerald Finaly, were placed in a Catholic nursery in 1944 in anticipation of their parents being deported to Auschwitz, where they were both murdered. Their aunt, Marguerite Fischel, survived the war and went to find the boys so she could take them to live with her. However, the nun who had custody of the boys, Antoinette Brun, adamantly refused to give them up, reportedly saying that âThe Jews are not gratefulâ
What followed was a years long custody battle where despite being repeatedly ordered by courts all over Europe to return the boys, Brun took them to many different countries and hid them, with the support and help of other nuns and priests. It was suspected at the time, and later confirmed by documents released in 2020, that Pope Pius XII had supported the effort to keep the boys away from their surviving family and have them be raised Catholic.
Thankfully, after negotiations between a sympathetic cardinal in France and the chief Rabbi of Paris, the boys were finally recovered and reunited with their aunt.
Documents reveal the private discussions behind both Pope Pius XIIâs silence about the Nazi deportation of Romeâs Jews in 1943 and the Vatic
I wish I could say that the phenomenon of the Catholic Church kidnapping children and keeping them away from their families for the purposes of forcefully raising them Catholic is unique to Jews, but itâs not. From the mid nineteenth century to the mid twentieth century, the Church ran hundreds of residential schools in the US and Canada where indigenous children were kidnapped from their homes and forced into these cruel and inhumane âschoolsâ. The children were forbidden from speaking their own languages or practicing their own cultures and religions, their hair was cut, and they were subject to emotional, verbal, spiritual, physical, and sexual abuse. Many of the children died due to malnutrition or medical neglect, their bodies buried like dogs beside the schools. The Catholic Church was not the only Church to participate in this, but theyâve been the most reluctant to fully acknowledge and apologize for it. It was only in 2022 that Pope Francis apologized on behalf of the Catholic Church for their part, but some people found the apology inadequate.
Idk what my point is here, just that thereâs such a clean link between evangelizing, cultural/religious imperialism, and how damaging and horrifying a religion can be when it is thoroughly convinced of its own superiority. And that unless an institution is forced to change, it probably wonât change on its own.
