I have no idea why I'm doing this. I guess I'm just curious. I took the advice from like one person here to do this so…let's see how this goes.

📝Character Info:

This character was created as a sort of 'self-insert' for a fanfiction work. So everything mentioned is mostly related to the lore I've written for said work - some things might be susceptible to slight modifications or adjustments if need be.

He's an homicide detective assigned to the Jigsaw case under the supervision of Det. Mark Hoffman. He is also an apprentice - he had been put in a trap, survived, and was sort of 'adopted' by John a few years before he became a cop (actually he was motivated by him to become a cop in the first place - you know, 'to help people' and all that). However, John always kept him at the margins of the work (which is why he doesn't meet Amanda, Gordon, or Hoffman until he's assigned to the case and then gets called back by Kramer to help again in the games - this is supposed to take place around the events of Saw III & Saw IV); So after he's taken in, he would help sometimes with the tasks of assembling the traps and all, but he would never be allowed 'too close' to the games (there's a long explanation for this in the lore I've built for this character but I don't feel like boring people to death with it, so let's just sum it up with: he's way too unstable). Oh, and then he was 'dismissed' by John because (for reasons too long to explain here) Jill advised him to put some distance - needless to say Carter despises Jill because of this. Still, John had promised him that he'll be back 'when the time was right', which is supposed to be right after he is transferred and starts working on the case. So he's still a current apprentice and helps whenever he's called back to work, but still is not allowed full participation in the supervision of the games.

Basically, this character was hospitalized once and taken off duty due to a breakdown from 'work related stress' (but things are not that simple). Basically, he had a breakdown after being pushed away by John since the man had become like a paternal figure for him, since his childhood was shit and he didn't had one, and after so much loss in his life (he had no family, his only friend had 'abandoned' him to go to college, and now John) he just couldn't deal with being abandoned again, so he basically tried to unalive himself and ended up hospitalized and taken off duty for six months. Also, during that time he gets properly diagnosed (Depression+High-functioning ASPD), but he's deemed 'stable enough' to be put back on duty, because he was already okay (he's not okay, he's killed people for god's sake!!) - but don't ask him too much about that time, he doesn't like remembering about his months at the hospital - He's medicated to keep himself in check (he still suffers from chronic insomnia though; he has a few nervous tics; and his mood shifts like the flip of a switch), but he sometimes 'forgets' to take the meds (he's stubborn like that) - he doesn't take the meds = he might get a bit violent (in the best cases simply moody).

He's morally grey, and has a very ambivalent personality. He's kind when there's benefit from it; and he'll literally gut you if you piss him off enough. He's generally chill and may try to be funny - he can be way too annoying sometimes with the teasing and the jokes and, he has a bit of a dirty mouth too; but he'll behave during working hours (mostly) and with strangers. He's terrible with words though, he'll never know what's the 'right thing' to say, or he could be way too blunt with his responses. He's used to resolving everything physically; be it with sex or violence. This actually has to do with the fact that (besides the fact that ofc he seems to have a high libido lmao) he's a very 'tactile' person to put it somehow, so he uses touch as something grounding and soothing; it helps himself relax most of the time.

[Personal Note:] Basically I created this OC as a suggestion of my therapist while discussing safe creative outlets for some unhealthy traits and behaviours of mine (I'm ASPD diagnosed lol) So, yea… I just exaggerated a lot some personal traits for the sake of fiction and all that..
