“being back on the island feels so good, but so boring. almost as boring as chick flicks and romantic comedies. i can’t believe i’m saying it, but i actually miss work.”

“what’s wrong with chick flicks and romantic comedies? well- chick flicks i can understand on some terms,” the male chuckled. “sometimes i do to. s’why i offer to make everyone drinks often so it feels just like home at the bar,”

He shouldn’t have started messing with Dalton like that. It wasn’t nice at all then again when was he trying to actually be nice? He really seemed to believe every single word that came from Sebastian’s mouth though and it really shouldn’t have been as amusing as it was. It wouldn’t have been if it wasn’t for the other’s concerned expression. “I do not know..I mean..If they really wanted to get everyone off of the Island don’t you think they would have done that first? They ought to have known what happens when it storms badly… I hope you can swim.” The blond shrugged nonchalantly, casting his gaze in the opposite direction for the added worry less affect. “Oh yes I know…It’d be terrible if this place wasn’t built correctly. One flaw, one leak, and we’d be trapped in here. Those doors wouldn’t open. I’ve not seen a window. The ceiling is pretty high though so it could take a few…minutes to fill up.”

dalton in the given moment was both frightened and so complete and utterly confused. he had no idea where the change of heart could of possibly came from but was sebastian being nice? was he actually consulting dalton? probably not. he wasn’t exactly helping by pointing out all the bad things that could happen. “ugh....sebastian, why are you saying all those things?” he whined, shutting his eyes closed tight as he curled up against the wall behind him. he groaned when he could hear the winds just outside. if he hears a single wave crash against the shore he might just cry. “i think it’s best we forget about the negative thinking and just...i don’t know, talk about something else? or do something else to distract us?” he couldn’t tell whether or not the other male was going to accept his offer but it wouldn’t hurt to try. though with sebastian, that was debatable. 

“exactly, anything is better than focusing on what’s going on out there.” olivia let out a small laugh as she started towards the door. “hopefully they have some of those really soft blankets that will actually keep us warm.”

“my weakness is extremely soft and fluffy blankets,” he chuckled, glancing behind him to look towards her on their walk. “they better have some or i might just start crying,”

“Yeah, just walking around, staring at shit, creeping while you’re trying to read,” Ethan laughed, trying to peek at what the other boy was reading. “And your name…?” He asked him slowly, raising his eyebrows inquisitively. 

dalton chuckled softly along with his words, not having much of a response other than the nodding of his head. he had noticed the male come in and not do much other than what he said- besides the creeping part. “oh, dalton. dalton ross. it’s a pleasure to meet you,”

“Everyone loves a new addition mid-season to stir the pot a bit, don’t they?” Ethan said, stuffing his hands in the pockets of his sporty looking sweatpants. Not like he actually was super sporty, but style was style. “I’m Ethan, I was just taking a look around. Sorry if I spooked you,”

“spooked me?” dalton raised an eyebrow, chuckling softly at his words. “no no, you’re fine. i’m fine,” he glanced back down towards his novel for a split second to just close it over before he returned back to his gaze. “but yes, everyone loves a new addition to the group. i swear, everyone gets really excited,”

“of course” she said smiling. “i don’t think i could have ever destroyed the photos of us. they are too priceless” the girl said. “oh my gosh, i totally forgot about those.”

It was almost instant. The upward quirk of his lips, far too fast for him to really catch and stop himself before it turned into something like a grin. Dalton’s face in that moment was far too priceless not to gain such a reaction from the blond. He would’ve cackled if he hadn’t wished to push the taunting a touch further. Sebastian bit back his grin as quickly as he could before nodding vigorously in hopes of masking the smile. “Oh yes. You know I should know. Nice is not so far away from here…well far enough that we’ve not been submerged, but the ocean…I mean it gets crazy. You can not even go outside.” He fabricated a little story, the corners of his lips still upturned slightly. “I suppose all we can do is hope that no water gets through.” Sebastian added, slapping the palm of his hand against the wall behind him.

dalton’s eyes widened a little, but he tried to refrain them from going any bigger otherwise he’d be completely humiliated. but he had the right to be scared, what sebastian was saying sounded awfully frightening, whether he was telling the truth or not. though the brunette didn’t suspect a thing, since sebastian seemed to know so much about what he were talking about. “oh my goodness...,” he sat there with his eyebrows knitted together in deep thought. “well....surely they have some sort of procedure if that’s what may happen. surely they can get everyone off the island first? like...will they get warnings or something?” dalton chewed on his bottom lip. “i truly hate the idea of that sort of thing. just...the water, the drowning....oh dear god,”

their fingers were laced together and it felt nice. it took the focus away from the loud noises coming from outside, took the fear away for a slightly second as his eyes rested on their hands peacefully. if he was being honest, had dalton not been there he would probably be freaking out but right now his concerned was on the male next to him. he wanted to make sure he was okay and that he was calm before he’d think about himself. he cared about him way too much to just leave him alone and worry about himself. he was selfish but not that much. “nothing bad will happen, okay?” he said, moving closer to him a little more so he could be more comfortable, his thumb stroking the back of his hand. “you’re cute, you still have a lot of hearts to break before dying.”

the girl smiled at the other’s words, “i know you can’t but you are going to be fine, and it will all be over before we know it” she said. “just think about all the times back in high school, and all those memories, just distract your mind”

“i hope so,” he nodded along with her words, offering her yet another kind, warm smile as he rubbed his sweating palms up and down his trousers repeatedly. “a large majority of those memories aren’t all that great, ky,”

a smile formed on lucas’ lips. “i guess i do think of dangerous things often. it’s a bit of fun. sometimes i don’t act on them. i’ve already gone swimming during a thunderstorm. it isn’t that special.” he shrugged. “some soda? that’s all you want from a minibar is soda? not a big drinker?” he asked arching a brow at the other. he was trying not to think of someone drinking, it was a nice way to take the nerves away and loosen up. “what if there was a little nip in there, how much to get you to down in as a small shot?”

“you’ve already gone swimming during a storm? are you blimming mad?” dalton gaped, his mouth parted open as he sat up. “and what other thoughts have you acted upon?” he asked curiously. “yeah, just a soda. no, i don’t drink often, and right now wouldn’t be the greatest time to begin again anyways,” he glanced at their surroundings while shrugging softly. “uh...i don’t know? i’m not feeling it much,”

“not good, not at all,” olivia confirmed, nodding her own head slowly. she knew that she was not being reassuring in any way but she was two seconds from panicking herself. “how about we go find some food and then we can like chill in one of the rooms, yeah?”

“okay, that sounds like a much better idea then sitting around and literally focusing on nothing but the noise coming from outside,” dalton sighed as he stood to his feet, brushing off his trousers before nodding towards the door. “let’s find some blankets on the way. it’s bloody freezing,”

“ i’m not trying to be DRAMATIC or anything, but, there’s not much that i WOULDN’T do to hit up waffle house right about now. i KNOW it’s super late, but, that’s when the best stuff happens. one time, i rolled into a waffle house around four in the morning, and the sweetest old lady who was the waitress found a big ass baggie of weed and JUST GAVE IT TO ME. i just don’t think she had ANY IDEA what it was. or maybe, grammy’s the plug?? we will never know. — I still want that waffle though.”

“well, we’re not going to be going anywhere for a while. not in this weather,” dalton sighed. it gets exhausting saying that everyday for over a week. he listened to her words before he found himself chuckling softly and shaking his head in amusement. “did you even sleep that night before going? i don’t think i’d ever be able to get up in the middle of the night just to go get waffles,” he laughed softly.

“so i guess with the rain and harsh winds means we can’t go outside and swim, right?” he rolled his eyes as he looked out the window. “this bites. whatever, who wants a drink?” he was grinning as his eyes scanned the living space the producers provided. “i just want to drink and maybe listen to some good as fuck music.”

“actually i have yeah, i mean i live in florida things tend to get a bit much there.” she smiled softly, “it gets easier after the first major one the fear sort of went away for me.” she nodded getting up from her spot, “of course, come on let’s get your mind off of this for a bit.”

there was nothing that could make this better. eric couldn’t make the storm go away and couldn’t offer anything that would make how he was feeling go away. he wanted to help but he was about the same as him, the only difference was that he was keeping the pose for everyone and the cameras that didn’t seem to stop recording even in times like those. “i’ve been in one before either, i’m not sure what we should do besides sit here and wait. i’m so damn bored.” he sighed, resting back against the wall as well. “we should have seen this coming though, we are in a island and it’s likely to happen. we’ll live though, i’m sure.” he said, his words cautious and nervous as he rested his hand over his thighs, his palm resting up so he could take it if he wanted to.

a frown grew on her own lips at the males words and when he grabbed her hand to place it over his heart, it was indeed beating fast. “okay, well you need to breathe because freaking out will make me freak out and us both freaking out won’t be good.” she told him, bringing her hand back down to her side. “there’s nothing we can do…and i think we’re somewhat safe here.”

nova looked over at the boy when he spoke only nodding softly, she knew she wasn’t the only one who was afraid there were others who were obviously scared as well. nodding again she smiled softly, “it’s fine.. dont apologize.” she bit the inside of her cheek letting her legs stretch out before she pushed off the floor to stand up, “lead the way..”
