“I…sorry?” There was a pause as the information sunk in as she removed her sun hat and rose from the stoop, a sudden brief lurch in her stomach that her mind registered as the familiar sensation of falling. An expression flickered across her face clearly indicating this was news to her, before it was gone as quickly as it came, hidden beneath a stoic exterior. She worried her lower lip between her teeth for a moment before she spoke, her tone even and controlled, saw dust covered fingers clutching the sun hat in her hands . “I didn’t know, no.” She looked down at the bow at her feet, half carved, before her gaze returned to the stranger standing on the other side of the low stone wall. She opened her mouth to say ‘thank you’ but then closed it. Did you thank a person for this? Without a word she turned, stepping inside the house and closing the door, leaving the half-done bow, carving knife, and visitor abandoned on the stoop.( @visarnezam @shilohdevereux   for the mention)

There was a deep sigh as the woman wrapped her hands around the mug in her hands. “I joined the Ministry Guard because I was in the Vigil once upon a time and I missed that sort of work. The Seraph were too much like the Vigil. The Ministry Guard is just different enough to be something new to learn, and happens to fit in my skill set.” She paused then, brushing her knuckles against her lips in thought. “As for your other question-  I might be, but I’m not sure what difference that makes to anyone.
