I think despite the fact that they communicate well, Megs and Op do not talk to each other about the past at all and try to avoid mentioning their pre-war life most of the time.
I mean, that would at least explain why in all three seasons they never mention the time when they were Orion and Dee. Idk

i had sm fun designing the waves for this au. i’ll probably do a little bit of tweaking but overall im happy with the designs. i tried to almost make them parallel wheeljack and ratchet in a way— shockwave’s lower arms/sleeves (?) are inverted from wheeljack’s and they both have a rounder upper torso, although shockwave’s is sharper. soundwave and ratchet have the same shape of upper torso, but like WJ’s and shockwave’s arms, the shapes are inverted from each other. then they both have the sharp chevron things and the armor on the sides of their helmet. a lot of this came from their original G1 designs of course, it’s not like im totally inventing their designs here, but i def tried to play into the whole “these are the evil versions of wheeljack and ratchet and grimlock in the neighborhood” concept while simplifying their designs for this au/style. also here’s the bg on its own—

It was actually really fun getting to mimic the same sort of style! I've never really dont backgrounds but I had a bunch of fun coming up with things Ratchet and Wheeljack would have in their house. I think the little family pictures may be my favorite.
Hardest part for me was getting Ratchets face right 😭 Drawing soundwave was so fun and peaceful but ratchet was living HELL. Felt like I was crawling through the Pits but hey, I love the finished product so it was worth it 💔
It just felt right to give sounwave a bendy straw, hes just a silly.

and aaaaaaaa all the little details on the wall, i absolutely love how the pics of grimmy and wheeljack and ratchet are simplified into more of a silhouette, it matches the style perfectly, its all just so good 🥹🥹🥹
