Any fic writer worth their salt knows that King Stannis's eyes are a beautifully eerie pale blue that appear lilac in certain lights, not a piercing blue.

First of all, if your ridiculous self insert (or you, for that matter) had spent any time with his grace you would know that up close (kissing distance, i would say), they are such a striking blue that it blinds anyone fortunate enough to get so close.
Secondly, using salt metaphors is appropriation of sailor culture and you wouldn't last two minutes on the boat.
