Daisy: Same, it's obnoxious.

Jasmine: she somehow found my Instagram and commented. Saying how Avery is her sloppy seconds and all that shit.

Daisy: I know, and I'm hype

Jasmine: you should be telling me no.

Jasmine: Averys dumbass ex.

Jasmine: I told Avery I wouldn't.

Jasmine: But I'm so close to fighting a bitch.

Daisy: I mean, I don't have anything else going on today

“i just paid off what i owed him for the first repairs, i’m not trying to put myself back in another hole. not trynna be around for another six months, i don’t think,” he shrugged, popping the drivers side door open, grabbing his keys out of the cup holder, “whenever, i have no plans. - finley? at the junk yard? yeah, even bubble wrap can’t save him. he’ll probably get fuckin’ bored and pop ‘em all. he stays here.”

“Where the hell are you going?” Daisy asked. “Okay that’s fair, no Fin. In that case, we can go now. I’m not doing anything.” She shrugged. “And I have the jeep so there’s room for parts.” She nodded out the door where her car was parked. “And I don’t see this thing going anywhere.” She pulled the tie from her hair and shook her head as the hair fell down around her. “It shouldn’t take too long.”

“oh for sure, i knew the second you came into the shop to apply. that sounds perfect to me, maybe we can bring your so called favorite avery along with us.”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about, I was a perfect gentleman when I came in to apply. Yes! Dumbasses on Wheels, I’m here for it.”

“- yeah. if i had money for one, which i don’t.” avery sighed, propping his elbow up and onto the hood of the car, glancing at daisy, “i’m gonna hope the junk yard has something that can get me by, at least for another couple of months until i can get some money in my pocket. that’s all i really can do.”

“I bet Old Man Callahan would spot you the cash.” Avery and Finley were friends after all. “Great, when are we going? If we bring Fin, we’re wrapping him in bubble wrap and leaving him in the car, He would be the one to fall and impale himself on a rusty car part.”

“sigh that i do. well i gotta think of some stuff but i’m for sure stealing you away for another road trip.”

“You knew what you were getting into, Callahan. Yes! I need another road trip. That was so much fun. I’m going on Thanksgiving break soon, we can do it before thanksgiving maybe?”

“see that just means your favorite grease monkey is gonna have to make eighteen something special huh?”

“Definitely, but that feels like a lot of work to put on Avery.”

“radiators shot, oils leakin’, and she overall just sounds like she’s going to shit the bed any damn day now,” he mumbled, tossing the rag over his shoulder as he stood up and off the ground, kicking the rolling board to the side gently, “she’s a lost cause.”

“Oof.” Daisy winced. “It might be time for a new car.” she ran her fingertips over the grill of the car. “It’d cost less than fixing all that.” She shrugged. “Or we can go to the junk yard, maybe we can find some good deals out there.”

avery let out another sigh, using both of his hands to wipe at his face now, hoping that would take care of the problem, “this thing is a goddamn piece of shit,” he mumbled, letting his forearms rest on his knees, “trynna get her up n’ runnin’ before i leave, but clearly she’s not havin’ none of it.”

“What’s she doin?” Daisy asked, She reached up, gathering her hair, twisting it into a knot that she secured with the tie off her wrist. “At least what’s she doin’ now?” Daisy had a soft spot in her heart for junk cars, the cars that should have been given up on a long time ago.
