he is SO malicious and savage and petty and just an overall jackass ugh

but you wouldn’t actually know that by talking to him ;;; daehyun was born in brooklyn to a wealthy family and never got attention from his parents, so he basically got to do whatever he wanted on the condition that when he was ~presented to the other elites~ that he played the role of the good son. that led to him being raised to be the perfect child (on the outside). never really learned to feel anything besides that, though.

fell in love with a girl back in brooklyn named misun who introduced him to kpop and taught him how to dance. she saw past his niceties to the person who was, deep down, actually cold and terrible

so nowadays he kinda does his thing: charming the pants off people. if you talk to him he’ll legit seem like the perfect boyfriend; always thoughtful, always kind, probably the guy you’ll see playing with a puppy somewhere and that you’ll want to bring home to your parents. think like?? NO this is WRONG it is VERY WRONG okay ;;; if somebody pisses him off (which isn’t hard b/c he’s p short-tempered) he has legit been known to actually smack papers out of people’s hands and spill their coffee on purpose and trip them when they’re walking

the thing is he’s really good at hiding these and playing them off either as accidents or as the other person’s fault so he keeps his good image. he gets a kick of seeing how much of his evil personality he can let peek through his sweet #relatable concept;; usually the only sign that sets off warning bells in other people’s minds is This Trademark Smirk of His™ that only a few netizens have picked up on on camera.

that being said, he really did learn to love and respect his group so fucking with decypher is the same as fucking with daehyun and a one-way ticket to Pettyhell. fun fact: his cooking’s so good you’d probably cry after tasting the first bite and he makes it his life’s mission to make sure decypher is not only well-fed, but well taken care of

really tho unless you reeeeallly make him mad he doesn’t really hold grudges. he just gets his one-time revenge and then calls it good, though his opinion of you will drop p significantly
