      she  readjusts  the  hood  of  her  sweater  so  that  it’s  resting  comfortably  on  her  neck  before  taking  a  seat  next  to  her  protégé.  the  fork  in  astrid’s  hand  quickly  digs  into  the  slice  of  strawberry  swirl  cheesecake  that  anastasia  made.  taking  a  bite  out  of  the  heavenly  morsel  ,  she  sighs.  “  annie  ,  i’ve  said  it  before  and  i’ll  say  it  again.  this  cheesecake  is  WONDERFUL.  it’s  balanced.  it’s  a  little  tart  but  not  too  overwhelming  ,  ”  astrid  compliments  her  before  taking  another  forkful  of  cheesecake.  “  anyways  ,  what  have  you  been  up  to  ?  ”

anastasia didn’t know she was holding her breath until astrid’s compliment have her sighing out loud,   dainty hands moving close to her chest to clap gently.   the woman’s words have always meant the entire world to her,   always doing everything in her baking to get either a compliment or even accept a critique from someone she had admired for a while.   “   ah,   thank kirby.   ”   the french braided brunette sighed,   eyes fluttering shut for just a moment.   “   i kind of changed the classic recipe i’ve been working with,   so i’m glad it’s wonderful still.   ”   annie giggled,   clinging into the word astrid had described her dessert with pride.   she’s happy she came out running out of her apartment with the piece of cheesecake so the other could taste it!   “   i’ve been schemin’.   ”   she admitted,   pressing her lips into a little simper as she started to fiddle with her fingers.   “   i’ve been...   thinking...   of finding a new baking job.   and i’m being very ambitious with this one and that’s why i’m a bit nervous.   ”
