Getting a comment on your work feels amazing. So, as we approach the reveal, here's a quick guide to giving creators some love:

💬 How to write a good comment

Commenting can feel a little intimidating, especially if you've really enjoyed something but aren't sure what to say. Fortunately, you don't need to write an essay.

Simply tell the creator what you enjoyed and why.

Here are a few ways to get started:

✨ Be specific. Was there something you particularly enjoyed? A characterisation, line, bit of dialogue, joke, plot twist, art style, or emotional moment? Tell the creator about it!

✨ React to what you read. “I loved how you portrayed X as...”, “The moment when Y happened absolutely destroyed me”, or “I've been thinking a lot about the way you explored Z...” are all perfectly good comments.

✨ Point out the little things. If there's a small detail you particularly liked, mention it! Those details are often things the creator spent a lot of time thinking about, and knowing that someone noticed can be incredibly rewarding.

✨ Don't worry about being profound. “This made me laugh out loud” or “I'm going to be thinking about this all day” is much better than procrastinating forever trying to come up with something clever.

✨ You don't have to comment immediately. If you can, please try to leave a comment within the first week after the reveal. Your creator put time and effort into making something specially for you, and telling them what you enjoyed is one of the nicest ways you can thank them.

But if you don't have the spoons to write a comment while reading, leave a kudos and come back later when you have the time. A late comment is infinitely better than a comment that never gets written.
