I absolutely love it. I could see Childe just being a massive admirer of him but not romantically (not at first bc we love a good slow burn) and he’d stay up freaking out about his attack style and outfit and just his strength in general promising himself he’d fight him again.

Then when the traveler does ‘introduce’ them it’s at Angel Share and it’s some what necessary because they’ll be in a party together from time to time and it just takes everything in Diluc not to cause a scene in his tavern. Meanwhile Childe is stunned he just hides his gay panic with being super friendly (annoying) and asking to spar later—

I feel like kaeya would also be at the tavern when they meet and would see this fatui guy walk in and how diluc almost shatters the glass in his hand and is like “oooh this is gonna be fun” skfjskfjs I just love the idea of wingman kaeya that also just solely exists to push diluc’s buttons

Tartaglia would most definitely fall first but he’d realize in the middle of them sparring (time to make this cliche).

Imagine at some point Childe’s sliced his hair tie (on accident) and his hair just comes down in just curtains of red and his heart is hammering and he’s mildly confused by the new feeling. In the middle if his confusion Diluc uses it to his advantage and next thing he knows he’s pinned to the ground by his claymore and Diluc’s looking at him with so much hatred but his hair is framing his face nicely.

So he’s like “yeah yeah whatever, okay, you win”. Diluc’s confused now because he didn’t expect him to surrender that quickly. Meanwhile Childe’s a confused mess for the rest of the day. Kaeya notices and decides he wants to use this opportunity to get some information and instead he ends up rambling about Diluc and he just straight out asks him if he likes him.

But it’s weird bc he’s only ever felt this when they fight so he ends up trying hard not to spar with him too much in an attempt to find out if he actually likes him or if was a ‘heat of the moment’ kinda thing. You know, because that’s where he finds most of his excitement. When his idea proves to be inefficient he goes to Kaeya again who rolls his eyes and is just like, come with me. So they’d end up going back to the tavern to see Diluc again and Childe almost immediately either hides or walks away, not out of shame but he’s confused and he really doesn’t know how to handle his feelings.

And Kaeya (being the nice person he is) would probably say something along the lines of:

“Your boyfriend over there has been moping all day and he’s following me around like a lost puppy,” Diluc would probably attempt to hit him for calling Childe his boyfriend but he’d end up going to ‘check on’ him because he’s been acting weird since there spar and for once Diluc isn’t looking at him with murder in his eyes and that’s really all it takes for it to click with Childe.

the problem is, not only that he sucks at flirting, but he's so pissed off that THIS is the guy he likes that he's mad at himself and robert which just makes the flirting worse.

Or better yet, Flambae witnessing Robert lifting his shirt up to wipe the motor oil off. Giving a free show to Flambae and allowing him to greedily take in the treasure trail and v-line that is slowly starting to become more defined. And we all saw that concept art. The man had his own little bakery at one point. He’s working on getting it back.

ANYWAY Flambae is seeing everything in sexy slow-mo porno vision while romantic music is swelling in the background because he also loves this feral raccoon of a man’s personality. He’s already thinking about how he’s going to wine, dine, and sixty-nine Robert.

Or at least, that was what Flambae thought right up until the moment he wanders in to Royd's shop or the SDN mechanics garage or whatever and sees Robert stripped down to a pair of tight fittinf old jeans and a thin white tank top, with enough engine grease swiped at one cheek and over his toned arms and smeared over the rest of him as to be stupidly attractive, especially with that faint sheen of sweat and flush of exertion as Robert works.

He's stronger than he was when he first started as SDN (though still not at his pre-coma level) and Flambae still calls him weak at the gym in the mornings but apparently Bob Bob is strong enough to haul around some heavy machinery like its nothing, leaning muscles flexing in a way that results in Flambae accidentally setting off the fire alarms and evacuating the building as he realizes:

Robert might actually be his type after all.

He's torn between immediately doing everything in his power to make the feral twunk his and walking into the ocean and letting the sharks have him so he doesn't have to deal with Prism's never ending teasing and "I told you so" -s

I will forever find it hilarious that Flambae is infinitely pissed off by the fact that he's attracted to a basic white twunk like Robert.

But fuck if he doesn't find Robert insanely attractive. His gums itch incessantly to sink his teeth into his pale skin, making new marks of his own. Any motor oil on Robert makes him want to lick it off (it'll taste disgusting but what matters is that it's sexy). Sometimes he hates that other people see him like that too (fuck Royd, how dare that man see Robert like this every day).
