I do believe that a not insignificant portion of the (specifically cishet male, not that other demographics are not capable of inflicting harm but this demographic is the most common statistically) population are sex pests in some capacity but I also know the reason politicians keep having sexual misconduct scandals is because sexual predators flock to politics. It isn’t random. It isn’t because soooooo many evil people love to levy rape allegations against men in their prime. It is because people who love the sensation of having power over others seek out careers where they can do just that. Law enforcement, armed forces, religious leaders, politicians. These are also careers where they know they will be able to use their power to avoid the social ramifications of their actions and silence the voices of their victims. Of course it happens over and over and over again and of course no one does anything about it, the system is designed for them.
