Mettaton smiled slyly at his duplicate. It wasn’t his first experience like this, but it seemed it might’ve been the other’s. He laughed his loud, ringing stage-laugh, and winked at the other Mettaton.

     Mettaton chuckled at the other's      performance, though honestly, he      didn't feel like playing up the dra-      ma. At least, not today. He'd just      finished clearing a virus from his      system, and that was not fun. So      he merely played along.

     ❝ Why, thank you, gorgeous! Truly an honor from one such as yourself. ❞

     Cue the robot dramatically      falling to his knees, clutch-      ing his chest in mock pain.

     ❝ You WOUND me, darling. ❞

Slippered feet slid off of the counter- he had been kicking back for a nap when the robot came by- and his head tilted at a slight angle, the skeleton equivalent of raising an eyebrow. “You’re looking for Alphys?” She was the only monster he could think of that matched his description, anyways. “Her lab is that way,” a lazy wave, “if you’re trying to find her.”

     His smile falters just a touch at the pun--      but not because he doesn't like it. Organ-      ic soul or not, he was still a ROBOT, and      as such, he used coding to process infor-      mation. HUMOR took longer to decipher      than most other things as a result.

     ❝ Oh? Hahaha-- AHAHAHA! Well,      you're not wrong, darling. ❞ MTT      smirks at the skeleton, leaning over      to place his hands on the countertop.

     ❝ That's actually why I was looking      for Alphys. She's my maintenance      gal. ❞
