Soft clanging noises rouse Dream from his sleep. His eyelids begrudgingly opened, a yawn leaving him as he looked at the nightstand clock, the time reading "7a.m."
Sunlight managed to creep through the curtains, making Dream squint.
With force, he swung his legs around and got out of bed. He walked over to his dresser and grabbed his circlet, putting it on. Dream knew he didn't have to put it on since he was at home with his friends, but it felt wrong not to have it on.
With that, Dream made his way into the kitchen.
"Well, look who's finally awake," Error teased. He was leaning back in the dining table chair with his arms behind his head. "Sleeping beauty. Get it, 'cause you're a prince?"
"Good morning to you too, Error." Dream couldn't help but smile. It was a stupid joke, stupid enough to get a reaction out of him. "Hilarious." He quipped sarcastically.
"You're never usually up this early," Swap commented, turning around with a spatula in his hand. He had an apron on that said, 'Kiss me, I'm great.'
"I made breakfast. Pancakes." Swap added cheerfully as he turned back to the skillet, flipping the sweet treat.
Ink was already eating his. "They're really good. Blue burnt it just for me."
"You like them burnt?" Dream asked with disgust. Was he surprised? No. Ink was weird. Everybody knew that. Would he condone this? Absolutely not!
"Yeah, who doesn't?" Ink asked confidently.
"Literally every anomaly to exist," Error said gruffly. Error said what they all were thinking. Oh well, better him than anyone else.
"Suit yourself!" Ink said thoughtfully before smothering a piece in syrup and taking a bite.
Dream hurled a little. Before another word was said, Swap put a plate full of steaming hot pancakes in front of Dream.
"Wow, Blue, these look great. Thank you," he said blissfully. He picked up his fork and took a bite, savoring the flavor. He was thankful to be living in a time where he had more to eat than berries and loaves of bread. It was nostalgic, but this was way better.
"Anybody want seconds? I have plenty. In fact...I may have made too much." Swap said, removing his apron and hanging it on a wall hook.
"Stuff them in a container, and I'll take it back to the Anti-Void." Error responded, standing up.
"You got it." Swap said, walking to the pantry to retrieve a plastic bag.
"Y'know, since we're all here, we should watch a movie." Ink offered.
"Nope, I'm out." Error blurted out quickly.
Swap stopped him, grabbing onto Error's sleeve. "Ohhhh no. You're staying here with us."
"Fine. Don't grab me like that."
"Whatever." Error grumbled, his face turning slightly red.
They all gathered in the living room and sat down on the sofa. Well, except for Ink, he'd rather be on the floor for some reason.
