I wanted to share this dreamy-shoegaze pop band I found. I heard some sounds off this album that kind of reminded me of the band “Yuck.” Reverb-heavy melodic patterns mixed with a sweet, soft female voice that is Samira Winter’s. I’ve watched her audio tree session, and listened to all her songs on band camp.. I’m completely in love with all these songs- was definitely the perfect shoe gaze album to vibe to in the morning. “Strange Emotions” and “Nothing” are my favorite songs! 

I’ve been listening to this experimental trip hop group for a while. First song I heard was “So Baked” and I was sold by this chick’s dope flow, silky vocals, and the classic oldie-inspired beat. This is perfect music to smoke a joint to in the morning, or chill to late at night.

I’ve been hearing SO much good shit lately from all genres- I had to just share a couple of the artists I’ve been bumping recently! I hope you enjoy my choices. 

1) HANNAH - Jasmine

HANNAH is an amazing rock group I found through Redacted [super rad collective, check them out at Facebook.com/redactedcollective] - I definitely fell in love with the beauty of the guitar melodies in the intro, and when the vocalist begins getting into it when the chorus kicks in- complete perfection. I highly recommend giving this band a listen.

2) Surf Dads - Beach Dreams

Adding to the list of talented acts to come out of Canada is Surf Dads. I’ve been in love with every EP these guys have put out- I actually jam their EP “A Nice Boy” quite often- it’s the perfect mix of high energy surf rock, and laid-back summer tunes. If you’re into bands like, WAVVES, definitely check out Surf Dads- they’ve got NEW fire coming out soon.

3) Forget It. - Not Everything Is About Me

Super cool Redacted band from Nor. Cal! I really loved the lyrics and passion I felt in the vocalist’s delivery. This band has a really fun “emo” punk rock vibe that you’ve got to hear- everything from the vocal harmonies to guitar solos make this band something worth checking out. 

4) The Slightlys - Lemonade

I LOVE THIS BAND’S ENERGY! Los Angeles based and fun as FUH- The Slightlys are a band to look out for. I actually had the pleasure of meeting the drummer, David, a while back, and he was lovely to talk to. This band has some fun songs to dance to! I’ve been bumping this song Lemonade to get ready in the morning- really puts a bounce in my step. If The Slightlys are playing a show near you, I suggest you get your booty to that venue, dude!

DUUUDE LISTEN TO THIS- this is an acid trip for your ears. KNOWER is an experimental pop duo from Los Angeles. They’ve been a group since about 2010- I’ve been following this group for about two years, and something I love and respect about them is the uniqueness and simplicity that they apply to their music videos while applying chord extensions and jazzy progressions to synth sounds to give their group that “experimental” vibe. 

This is an incredible punk rock band from Burbank, CA formed in 2007. They have about three albums out already, and their fourth album “Stage Four” is expected to be released on September 16, 2016. Here, you can listen to their newest song “Palm Dreams” off “Stage Four” thanks to Epitaph Records! 

LA based R&B/Hip-Hop QUEEN - Aste Mari. I found this on Facebook through a friend of mine- dang this chick has a sweet flow. I totally like her message, and she has those smooth R&B silky vocals.
