“It’s all so painful: a paper cut, an unwanted memory, an unexpected phone call. Love.”

Abu Bakr reported: He said to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, “O Messenger of Allah, teach me a supplication to say in my prayers.” The Prophet said, “Say: O Allah, I have wronged myself with many great wrongs and none forgives sin but you, so forgive me and have mercy upon me. Verily, you alone are the Forgiving, the Merciful.”

Trying to convince yourself to stop having intense paranoia abt everything like

“Depression is feeling okay for weeks at a time and then suddenly breaking down over the smallest thing. It’s cancelling plans to the point where all your friends eventually give up on you. It’s not being able to sleep at night and then being tired all day. It’s wanting to walk into the sea and drown but knowing that you can’t. It’s eating everything even though you can’t really taste any of it. It’s the numbness that takes over from the years and years of crying. It swallows you whole and consumes you…that’s depression.”
