Sometimes, I make art and then I make art².

Made these yarn hearts years ago, and turned it into a video this year for posting funsies.

Approximately an hour in total to: cut out the cardboard and wind yarn for art (2021), and digitally create the video (2026).

Also, sometimes people post the most ridiculous, nonsensical, fecal pap for social consumption. When your outward-facing post speaks volumes about your inner voices, making me the subject of your jealous rant is greatly minimized. Unwarranted drama created and curated by you, pointed at me? Nah. Imma add some words to my digital clap back. 😋

As a recent craft, I altered this cute soap dispenser (original below) to match my favorite doggo, Boba Fett.

This may be an crafty issue for me, especially when the first thought to cross my mind upon seeing ANY dog shaped thing: I can make it look just like him!! So far I've done signs, ornaments, cards, etc. I'm sure I'll get around to posting them, so I'll have to remember to come back and link here.

Acrylic paint on ceramic. Total time: about 30 mins. Added a cordless lamp to the dispenser and a fun spider to the top of his head to distract from the foam stabilizer.

Below is our adorable model. These pictures don't really show it, but I did make his eyes brown. I may go back and lighten them before we get to spooky season. 👀

Quick painting for family that loves 🍷.

Acrylic paint and pen, wooden board and metal opener as embellishment. Probably about an hour. Not even close to happy with this one, but that grape cluster is 🍇 👍.

Car drawing for my son's 25th birthday. I am still insanely high on how my brain squish coos and giggles every time I look at it. I changed out the parrot for his male cat, Romeo (below), who loves to sit on your shoulders, give hugs, and drool.

Acrylic pens on canvas. Maybe an hour to do all the layers. Does this look like him? Meh. Does it look like the reference? Ehh. Is it fabu? 💯

Today's craft is the Star Wars costumes made for my daughter who very much wanted to be a Jedi. We originally started with just a simple black cloak...

Then moved into clone territory (above). The original mask she had was just a simple paper cutout, but then she found an actual replica and so she got it for Halloween.

We then moved into Obi Wan/Jedi territory.

Her brother chose Anakin after he saw hers.

These were simple and quickly done. I had no real idea what I was doing. at. ALL. But they loved them, and that was all that mattered. They lasted for over a year of play, and what more can you ask of scrap fabric?

Total time, including design and measurements, was probably 2-3 hrs. They wanted them to be done as soon as I said I would make them, so quality wasn't a high priority for them. 😂

Mid-20s, and they still love the franchise ⭐✨

A few crafts for loved ones- crocheted the Dobby for my daughter for Christmas about 4 years ago...and although it certainly did not follow the pattern outcome path, I think he definitely deserves a sock! Next, made a one-of-a-kind music box 2 years ago for my niece, who also loves HP. Bought a standard music box (below) that plays the theme and came with broom and owl. Printed out the book covers (HP, Tales of Beetle the Bard, Magical Drafts and Potions) and stuffed them with paper. I think mine is way better than the original, and my niece loved it ⚡

I don't usually use my art for politics in anywayshapeorform, but this past February had me in a chokehold. Some insane policies had came out and the rationale was just noise to confuse/bemuse the masses, and every new sound bite of the slide into the policestate made me more 😶‍🌫️ Now that we sit in the summer of 'this is really real and can't be stopped even with ✔️ ⚖️', oh how the void screams back.

Anyway, this idea came to me on a long drive. But I was the wheel holder this time. Rude. So, when I stopped next, I pulled out my pencil and paper and quickly sketched it out so my brain could stop hyper-fixating on it.

Total time was maybe 10 mins.

Painting of the Blue Ridge Mountains from a visit off the Parkway. I wanted to play with how they look outside of RBG, so I used purple tones instead of blue.

Especially proud of this effort, doubly so of the shrubbery in the forefront. I must have retouched these guys two dozen times. Ni!

Acrylic on canvas, I'd say 5 hrs in total for layering and retouches.

This is me and my bestie from an amazing vacation to Vegas. We did a quick day trips to the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam, the Joshua Tree National Forest with lunch at a Dude Ranch, and Red Rocks. It was an amazing trip, and we had so much fun...we even squeezed in some casino time 🤣🎰

So much fun with this one. It's probably my absolute favorite car drawing and I was quite proud of the outcome. The star subject is my daughter's kitty, who has the biggest personality in such a smol baby body. Adopted as an itty bitty, she acted like a feral spaz and had a ratchet personality for most of her kittenhood. She has matured into a lovely sweetheart, but still has her moments, fosho.

Colored pencils on paper, about 2.5 hrs overall.

This is a very stylized and inaccurate painting of my mountain money pit. Sadly, we bought long after the parcel was carved up and all the lakefront was sold to pay off the loan for the remaining mountain acreage. But, all in all, I tell myself that if it had still been lakefront, we'd never have been able to afford it. Lol 🌄

Acrylic on canvas, about 2 hrs. I kept playing with the trees and clouds and it still irks my brain that I didn't get the shadowing right enough to make the skyline look multidimensional. Anyway, it was good enough to hang in the bathroom. 😂

Sometimes I get a dumb idea and it tickles me. Bad jokes are top tier, IMHO. Moreso if they involve phonetics...

Another of my Van Gogh tributes for today's addition. This was originally done in 2004ish (left) and I had it displayed in my dining room for many years. When we moved a bunch of our junk up north and I was splitting myself between 3 residences, it lived, sadly, in a closet. My stepson (who I helped raise since he was 13, now mid 30s) got engaged a few years back and I found out his then fiancé (now wife) loved sunflowers. So to celebrate, I touched up my painting and gave it to them in 2023 (right).

I know there's a bunch of versions he's done, so here's the reference photo and its current location in their home.

I love me some SWW. So much so that I make them as crafts. This was painted very quickly for a fun summer day's project, maybe 2018? The view is again from my yard, looking across the lake.
