Yesterday, in the evening of 24.6.2021, a rural area in Moravia in my country, the Czech Republic, was hit by a category EF3 or EF4 tornado. 7 towns were demolished and so far we know about 3 dead and hundreds of injured. You can see the destruction the tornado has caused bellow.

Tornadoes are quite uncommon in Europe and the strong ones are very rare. The last time we had a tornado this strong was in 2004. This time, the tornado was so strong it was the strongest one in the entire Europe since 2001.

Because of the rarity of tornadoes here, we do not have any warning systems or prediction for them, so most people were caught unprepared and without any possibility of hiding. Most of us don't even know what you're supposed to do during such event.

Please, if you can, donate to help the affected, since they're far from being outside of harms way - we're in the middle of strong thunderstorms with heavy rain and hail. Our country was already heavily hit by covid last year and the government has only decided to spend about 10.000.000CZK (cca 470.000USD) to help those affected by the tornado, which is a laughable sum.

So far noone has set up a way to donate for foreigners, but I'm looking into it.

Jakožto nebinární Čech*Češka, mám toho sakra dost. A věřím, že nejsem sám*sama.

Tento blog je mým novým projektem, ve kterém se budu snažit vytvořit nový jmenný rod, kterým se mohou nebinární Češi označovat. Mým cílem je čitelný, jednoduše naučitelný rod, se kterým si alespoň někteří nebinární lidé mohou ztotožnit.

Nebude to jednoduché a proto Vás, milé čtenáře a čtenářky, žádám, abyste mi dali vědět, co si o mých návrzích myslíte. Tohle je jen kousek skládanky, budu se v budoucnu soustředit na další témata jako skloňování jmen lidí, kteří používají novorod Oň, a tvorba nových označení. Vaše nápady, ať se zdají jakkoli stupidní, se mi hodí a tak se mě nebojte kontaktovat. (Sice bych ráde používale tento novorod, ale pokud se mě bojíte oslovit ve Vašich zprávách, střední, mužský, ženský ani množný rod mě neurazí; nebojte se, nekoušu.)

Nejlepší věc, co pro tenhle projekt můžete udělat, je ho zasdílet s lidmi, kteří by jeho výsledek ocenili ve svém životě. Není to jen pro mě, je to pro nás všechny a doufám, že tím pomůžeme alespoň někomu.

Elena Mizulina put forward a bill, that basically bans legal transition. It includes:

Adding the “sex” graph to the birth certificate. That graph cannot be changed in any way, and you also can’t get a new passport because of that.

banning (again) same-sex marriage, but now it is made based on the birth certificate so trans people cannot marry their loved ones.

banning the right to adopt children for the trans people

and WORSE, ALL THE CHANGES MADE IN THE PAST WILL BE DECLINED. People will get their old birth certificates back. the existing marriages will be no longer legal. And I don’t even want to think what will happen to the already adopted children of transgender parents

People are scared as fuck. I see lots of panic in russian social media and also on Twitter. They made a hashtag #ProtectRussianTransLives, so you can check it out for more info. And yeah, people started protesting. 

The protest hasn’t even started properly. The police detained all of them, called them slurs, misgendered them, asked about genitals. Those pigs arrested two women - Mila Zemtsova and Polina Symonenko

Mila is a journalist who came there with a license. The police immediately arrested her for the organization (!) of the protest which is absolute nonsense. They kept her in the police department for more than 48 hours and took away her phone. She got a fine for nothing.

Polina’s case is worse. She was arrested for repeated violation of the procedure for holding a public action (hope I wrote it right). Polina was also kept in the department for 48+ hours (it is illegal), misgendered and deadnamed. She was beaten in the court for taking a legal break. They gave her 14 days in a men’s prison. 

This is hell. Please spread this post. People must know about this.

I was born there. I have countless of LGBT friends there, and the fact that this is happening in the year 2020 is inhumane and terrifying.

My name is Oliwia. I am 17 years old and I come from Poland. And you know what? I'm fucking scared for my life. I am terrified for the lives of others. You probably heard about what happened last year in my country. "LGBT free zone" stickers, massive beatings in the city of Białystok at the pride parade.

This year is even worse. But not only for the LGBTQ+ people.

People are scared to go out and be themselves. Because if they show their true identity, they will be in massive danger.

PIS „Law and Justice” (the political party that rules our country at the moment) considers the removal of one of the legal abortion laws. We’re talking about a situation when the fetus is badly damaged. Very clever of them if we look at the fact that it is almost 98 percent of legal abortions in Poland. X

The leader of the anti-abortion initiative, Kaja Godek, argued during the parliamentary debate that the defense of life is enshrined in the constitution and described any abortion as “torture.”

“Abortion is a pandemic that is far worse than the coronavirus,” Godek said. “It produces more victims and all of them die.” X

There is also very “nice” clip of her saying “Lesbians, gays and other perverts, stay away from Poland.” She also fights to ban all pride parades across the whole country. X

If that didn’t convince you yet, how fucked up the situation was, how about criminalisation of sexual education? Yeah..I know..

PIS is trying to make a law where you can go to jail for even 3 years for teaching children about sex and other important stuff they have to understand at some point in their life.

“The proposed change will provide legal protection for children and young people against sexual depravity and demoralization, which is developing at a dangerous pace and affects thousands of the youngest Poles through the so-called sex education. Responsible for "sex education" of the environment enter other educational institutions in Poland, awakening children sexually and promoting homosexuality, masturbation and other sexual activities among students.” X

You want more? Okay. What about a boy named Jan from Jordan who has posted a modification of the emblem on Facebook, adding LGBT rainbow colors in the background. He’s 16. “I wanted to show that it is worth loving and respecting each other without prejudice" The case was reported to the Police. They arrested him and told him he has to say sorry for what he’s done and threatened him that they’ll send him to a correctional institution. X

People here are scared, I am scared. I don’t have the power to do anything yet because I’m just a kid in the eyes of adults. And you may ask “what can I do?”

And all I’m asking for is this:

Please be loud and stay proud of yourself. Talk about the situation in Poland. Talk about how fucked up this is. We can’t let PIS just get away with all of this. Not again. Please. I’m literally begging you. I love you all so much, I don’t want to be silenced and be afraid to go outside. I don’t want the history to repeat itself.

It feels almost like we are going back in time where Hitler was trying to make everyone hate the Jews and kill them all...yes. It is good comparison. It’s not an exaggeration. Not anymore.
